Weekdays:
- Monday - I worked from home to get unpacked, laundry rolling, prepared for the week on the work front etc. It was nice to be home and get things in order. That night, I ran to get my nails done and Clint took Maci to her Infiniti training. I ended up being the one to pick her up at the end and we enjoyed walking around outside without freezing!!!
Connor liked his spring training hat and Jammie pants from AZ
- Tuesday - Cleaning lady came which always makes the house feel fresher. We also had windows opened most of the day to air the place out - Yay! Connor and Clint went to a dome time for baseball practice (Try outs in a few weeks!) and I ran Maci to her practice. Clint kindly drove her home so I didn't have to hang around at the field for an hour and a half.
- Wednesday - Tag teaming of the kids at night with Connor having one of his final b-ball practices at the same time as Maci's soccer practice. Maci had a scrimmage against the girls a year old and was able to pull out a goal after pressuring their keeper and defense - go Maci!! She keeps growing by the day :)
- Thursday - 1st day of my boss being retired and we are running solo for a bit - not necessarily a bad thing :) I worked from home and had a super productive day. Clint and I took a walk around dinner time which was super nice to get out and about. That evening, Connor had his final basketball practice. One of the Wayzata varsity players even came to their practice. Connor beat him in a round of lightening and he signed Connor's practice warm up jersey. So cute!
Friday :
- I had a productive work day.
- Clint had his buddy Paul over for some Bourbon while I wrapped my day.
- Maci was going to head to Soccer training but she has a blister on her toe from ice skating that keeps ripping open so we let her have a few days of rest to have it better by next practices on Sunday.
- We had a lazy evening at home which was so nice after a full week back.
Saturday:
- Bright and early start with a 630a wake up call.
- We were off to Connor's first game in the MN State Travel B-Ball Tournament. Game 1 was at 8a in Prior Lake. Connor's team was the only B team to make it into Tier 1 of the Tourney. There were 5 tiers all together for our age and 72 teams. There is a lot to be proud of to make Tier 1 BUT that also meant we played all the top teams from MN.
- Game 1 we fought back in and lost by about 11 to a VERY good Chaska team. Connor hit his first 3 pointer in that game and when I was done cheering I glanced next to me and saw tears in Maci's eyes. I mean she may be the sweetest sister and kindest person I have ever met!!! Love her and their bond.
- Game 2 was no Bueno! We lost by 1 to a team we beat in the last tourney by 1. UGH!!!!
- Afterward we went to lunch as a team and it was a blast, just what the boys needed to get that taste out of their mouth.
- We then headed home and all took some naps.
- Clint and I got up around 4p and got ready for our big date night out with the former neighbors the Verplanks - we do our annual dinner at Manny's the super fancy steakhouse downtown. Their new neighbor at their new house is the head chef - it has become such a fun tradition.
- We had lots of laughs and then had a night cap at our house before calling it at 10p.
Maci schooling Seb in air hockey
Sunday :
- Another early morning! Not as bad today with a 730a wake up call. Connor was so excited to put his scorpion temporary tattoo on his neck and to play his last game of his 1st year of travel basketball.
- We got a good start to the game, great hustle, good D but dang our shots would not fall.
- Unfortunately, we lost by 2 to a team we had beat twice during the year - UGH! Not the way any of us wanted the year to end. The coach kindly gave each kid a cookie and a chain with their number on it. Unfortunately, Connor was given #58 vs his real #50 and that was all it took for the tears to come. He had held it together until that point. There were a lot of sad faces but we reminded them of their awesome season, took some pics, saw the moms tear up that it is over and then many of us went to watch the A team play in their final game which thankfully was a W!
- We headed home in time to get a gift wrapped and prep Connor for a birthday party with some school friends - good medicine.
- Clint ran with him and I took on all the house hold to dos - cleaned Connor's entire room, cleaned the junk drawers, did laundry, ordered groceries, got tax forms ready for the apt this week etc.
- I felt so gosh darn productive but sunk right into bed, as did Clint after a go go weekend and a jam packed productive Sunday. We couldn't even keep our eyes open for the whole TWolves game - thankfully we woke up today to find out they WON!
My Heart - #50
Love this Team
We hope you enjoy this teaser spring time and we are counting down the days until our fun in the Sun in CA over spring break at the end of the month.
Lots of Love,
C, K, M & C
