Baseball Try Outs, Soccer Scrimmage and Too Much Snow!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - Maci had her evaluation with Lucca and he said she is the hardest worker on the team and he is ok if she tells people that 💖He had really nice things to say about her and we talked about her goals for the rest of the season.  The same night, Connor had a quick 1 on 1 training with Jordan to get him ready for baseball try outs.
  • Tuesday - Connor had a morning ortho apt and continues to make progress with his teeth.  That night, we went to the Wayzata sectional game vs Edina in basketball - Wayzata crushed them with a 30+ point win!!!  We then hustled to get Maci from soccer practice.
  • Wednesday - Clint had our tax apt which was depressing. I learned Mahjong with the neighbor ladies that night. Clint managed Maci's soccer practice while I was deep into my lesson.
  • Thursday - I wrapped my day with a facial and brow wax/tint.  I swear the facial felt like a trance - it was so amazing!!!  I came home afterward and Clint kindly let me go straight to bed while he managed Maci soccer practice driving.
Friday:
  • Another productive Friday from home.
  • The kids had an at home learning day - dumb.
  • At 5p, we ran up to Medina Ballroom for a baseball team get together ahead of try outs.
  • Maci's pal/teammate Sav met us there as her parents were heading to the Hopkins Vs Wayzata basketball game - her brother is on the Hopkins team.
  • We scooted out to Maci's soccer scrimmage around 7p
  • Maci and her team looked great - we had a commanding 6-0 W
  • CJ & Jon's families kindly came and watched her game with all the little kids cheering her on.
Saturday:
  • The calm before the storm! The entire city is preparing for a Sunday blizzard so they moved up Connor's tryouts from Sunday to Saturday.
  • Connor still went to a movie with his pal Chuck at 1130a
  • Maci and I hung at home watching Love is Blind together
  • Clint helped out at the 9u try outs all morning
  • I ran Connor up to his try out at 3p
  • He was ready and loose - we wished him good luck and headed home for more Love is Blind.
  • Clint and I ran back up to get him at 5p and he felt super confident and happy with his performance - we told him we love him and that is the best you can do - give it what you have and let the chips fall as they may
  • We headed over to the Janko's for some pizza and hang time with them and the Codys but shortly after getting there, Connor complained of a headache.  We ran him home and he puked 2x through the middle of the night - poor guy!!
Sunday:
  • So we did get about 8 inches of snow BUT this was no where near the apocalypse they talked about
  • We got shit done around the house and eventually went back over to the Jankos to hang with the Codys again
  • We are all on pins and needles just wanting the teams to be determined and to get on with baseball fun. . .
Here's to melting snow, upcoming spring breaks and hopefully warmer temps!!
Lots of Love,

The end of 4th Grade Basketball & a BIG March Mayhem Win for M. . .

Weekdays:

  • Monday - Clint, Ryan and Vinny caught up for some beers at Medina Ballroom.  Emmitt came to our house to hang with Maci and Connor.
  • Tuesday - We had new garage door openers installed (YAY!) Maci had her training at night, Connor had basketball and then Maci had practice.  Lots of running around.
  • Wednesday - Connor had his last night at Brower baseball training. Clint had a baseball board meeting and Maci had a late night soccer practice.
  • Thursday - Clint and I had a financial check up call with our advisor.  I went to happy hour with a co-worker/friend, Winona. Maci and Connor had late evening practices - last basketball practice for Connor man.
Friday:
  • Productive work day at home for Clint and me.
  • Decided to skip the fish fry at Holy Name and order pizza instead.
  • Nice lazy Friday night on the home front.
  • Maci had Isla come over and stay the night.
Saturday:
  • Slow start to a weekend morning which was nice.
  • We ran Isla home and then headed to the state basketball games at Rogers High School.  Connor was once again in Tier 1 and they were the 10 seed. We faced a tough Egan in game 1 and got our butts beat. That meant we were on to St Louis Park for game 2.  Connor hit a 3 pointer with under 2 mins left which put us up by 4!  We were all going nuts!  We ended up tying and going into Double sudden death OT.  Cash went up for a layup and got hacked.  He hit his free throw and we win!!!  So fun!
  • Connor hung back and watched the 4-1 team and then went to dinner with a buddy Spencer.
  • I hustled home to meet Natalie as she was coming to do a late night hang with Maci until 10p.

Sunday:
  • Spring forward!  Dang it sucks to lose that hour of sleep!!!
  • Maci and I were off to Blaine for a 5v5 soccer tournament with game 1 at 930a - we crushed the other team like 20-0.
  • Connor had his 3rd game of state against Lakeville North - a team we lost to and won against during the year.  They unfortunately came up short by 1 bucket or 2 points so season is over :(
  • They came out to Blaine to meet up with Maci and I who had killed time having brunch with the team, shopping at Target and doing emails at Panera.
  • Game 2 was another blow out like 12-1.
  • Game 3 was more of the same - 20-0
  • At 640p we had the championship game against finally some competition.  We got down 0-1 which was nerve wracking but our girls fought back scoring 4 straight to go up 4-1 - we ended up giving up a few but ended the game 5-3 - CHAMPIONS!!!
  • Maci had some SCARY hard shots on goal and worked her tail off - so proud of both kiddos!
What a busy but fun weekend!
Lots of Love,

Round 2 of Braces Coming for M, Nail Appointments, Slower Weekend and Annual Manny’s Night Out!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - Maci had IDP training for soccer in the early evening.  We were able to pick her up and then have a super nice quiet evening at home, good way to ease into the week.
  • Tuesday - Maci and Clint had to head back to the eye doctor again, this time to check on how the contacts are working and get Maci a 6 month supply.  Thankfully all is great, she just needs more contacts :) That evening I took Maci to and from Minnetonka for her practice and Clint was with Connor at basketball practice.
  • Wednesday - Maci had the ortho in the morning and $5k later we are ready for round 2 of braces. She better love these teeth! That evening Connor had his brower training and Maci had soccer practice.
  • Thursday - Bridgerton 2nd half returned so I binged in the evening after getting Maci to soccer practice.  Clint and Connor had basketball practice and Maci got a ride home from Ayla’s mom.
Friday:
  • My bonus paid - always a fun day!
  • We had a carpet company come measure to replace the office and living room carpets.
  • After work, Maci and I had a nail appointment where we each got pedicures and I got my fingers refilled.
  • Back at home, Clint and Andrew were hanging out in the basement with some bourbon.
  • I ran Connor over to Chuck’s for a slumber party with Chuck and Anna.
Saturday:
  • I started my day with a massage, ahhh!
  • Connor had a baseball clinic at 12p in the domes.
  • I was able to get some nap and laundry completed on the home front.
  • Maci went to babysit at a neighbors house from 530-930p
  • Clint and I had our annual Manny’s steak dinner with the Verplank's (former St Louis Park neighbors)
  • We had a water/night cap at their house before getting home around 1030p
Jason (Exec Chef & John/Sarah's current neighbor), Clint and John
Sunday:
  • Productive day on the home front.
  • Maci had a training at 1230p and then some 3v3 soccer in the evening - an OT loss & win.
  • In between Maci’s soccer, Connor had a lazy day of video gaming and Clint and I did errands around the house and neighborhood.
She's been with us for 5 years!
We are so ready for spring break and warmer weather!  Bring on the time change and longer days!
Lots of Love,
C, K, M & C

President's Day, Kellie in DC, Connor B-Ball Tourney!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - The kids had no school but we put Connor in a full day basketball camp with his buddy Cash.  I got 2 of my direct reports performance reviews complete.  We thankfully had no sports at night so I was able to chill after work as Mondays are so exhausting!
  • Tuesday - Clint ran the kids to a 730a dentist apt and I worked from home in the morning before flying out to DC in the afternoon.  Clint kindly ran me to the airport over his lunch.  It was a smooth flight and then I ate room service and had a chill evening.  Clint managed to wrangle basketball and soccer practices on the home front.
I had to show Maci the annoying fluffy clouds we had to fly through
  • Wednesday - A full day in DC for me.  Connor had baseball and Maci had soccer in the evening back home.  We also learned that Connor's team is ranked 10th in the state and will play in Tier 1 for the state tourney.
  • Thursday - Another full day in DC for me.  Connor had basketball and Maci had both training and practice so thankfully we had some help from other teammates.
Friday:
  • Rosie got a grooming
  • I hopped an earlier flight home so Clint picked me up around 2p from the airport.
  • I got home, gave Connor a huge hug and then took a nap to sleep off a dull headache.
  • I picked up Maci from school at 410p and we headed to the Wayzata basketball senior night game at 7p.
  • Wayzata crushed Tonka!!  We then headed home for some R&R due to early Bball tourney.
Connor w. Senior Christian Wiggins - Going to Iowa State next year
Saturday:
  • Up and at 'em for Connor's first game at 8a
  • We played St Cloud, a team we beat previously. Unfortunately some of the kids were just off and we lost by 3.  UGH!
  • We hung around and watched several other games until our next one at 11a vs Maple Grove.  We have lost to them previously and our top team beat them by 4.
  • We battled and came out on top with the W!!
  • Headed home for naps!
  • Around 430p we ran Connor to Chuck's house and Maci to Isla's for hanging fun.  Clint and I took advantage and ate at Hilltop for burgers.  We then realized the 4-3 team with friends of ours were playing for 3rd at 7p.  We headed up to the gym and watched the game.  It went into double OT and they lost in sudden death :(
  • We ran to pick up Connor and then Maci to hit the hay for another early basketball day.
Sunday:
  • Game 1 is at 8a and we were up against Hopkins (#2 team in the state).  They have the best kid in the state as their point guard and he is a large kid that uses his body aggressively.  Connor was told to be on him the whole game and he only made 4 points while Connor was guarding him!!  We ended up losing by 4 but dang did we battle!!!  Connor was given MVP for his killer defense.
  • We got home for me to start doing the usual Sunday chores.
  • I ran Connor up to the dome at 12p for some baseball practice with Oliver's family bringing him home.
  • Clint ran Maci to her soccer training.  They are now on their way back.
  • The rest of our afternoon is going to be spent getting ready for the week and enjoying time at home.
  • This evening Maci and I will head up for her 3v3 soccer at 730 and 8p before calling it a night.
Our MVP!
Lots of Love,
C, K, M & C

Valentine's Day, Maci Scrimmage, Brad's 50th, Connor B-Ball Tourney!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - A nice day of getting back into work and school with no sports in the evening - Yay!
Playing with Chat GPT
  • Tuesday - Maci got contacts in the afternoon which has made a nice difference in soccer. Maci had soccer training at night followed by practice and Connor had basketball practice.
Crazy Ass Car in the Garage at Work
Are those Pool Noodles and Bungee Cords?!
  • Wednesday - Maci had round 2 of contact fitting (not sure why they couldn't finalize in day 1).  At night, Connor had baseball training and Maci had soccer practice.
  • Thursday - Connor got to have his Valentine's celebration at school which had nothing to do with any crushes but more so excitement for candy and what not.  We wrapped the day with Connor's conferences - he is such a smart and kind child with a little bit of sillies at times. :) We then had Maci soccer practice and Connor basketball practice later in the night.
Friday:
  • The kids had no school for teacher conferences.  The weather was nice (fake spring) so they rode bikes to McDonalds for their lunch.
  • At night, Maci had a soccer scrimmage where we beat MN United 7-1 and Maci had a sweet 1v1 goal of her own - she also rocked their new formation where she has to be an outside back up to winger (a whole lot of running!)
  • We dropped the kids and headed out to meet up with Kari/Brad and friends for Brad's 50th b-day celebration.  We lasted until 12a and then called it.
Brad's 50th Fun!
Saturday:
  • Happy Valentine's Day!
  • I started the day with Maci's haircut at 10a.
  • Clint and Connor were already out at Connor's 1st tourney game vs some polar bear 5th grade team.  We crushed them!
  • Maci and I got there for Game 2 and the boys really fought back and got a 2nd W!!
  • We all headed out for a lunch in the area before coming back for the championship.
  • Game 3 was against Becker's top 5th grade team and it was a tough game!  We lost by a decent margin for 2nd place.  The tourney was a bit jenky and the boys got a DQ Gift Card vs any medals.
  • Got home in time for Saturday naps and Clint ran Maci to Natalie's for her 13th birthday party.
  • Clint and I then headed out to 6Smith for a Valentine's Dinner just the 2 of us.
  • We came home, ate the rest of our dessert with Connor and watched basketball before calling it a night.
Natalie's Party Crew
Sunday:
  • Slow day of getting shit done around the house!
  • Clint picked up M from Natalie's in the morning.
  • At 6p Connor did some pick up basketball in Blaine and then I ran Maci to her 3v3 games at 8p and 830p - they pulled off the W in both :)
Lots of Love,

Great Sunday of Sports - Maci's Soccer Game 4-0 W, Connor's 1st Place B-Ball Tourney & Super Bowl!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - Maci had training in the evening - Clint ran her and I picked her up on my way home from work.
  • Tuesday - I had an Rx leadership onsite with a strategy session and then culture re-launch.  That evening, I headed to a bowling/happy hour with the leadership team where I crushed bowling with some colleagues - winner!  While I was there, Clint and Connor were at B-ball practice and Maci had her own practice that thankfully Clint picked her up from.
  • Wednesday - Another jam packed day with a 2 hour org session in the morning and then our HR QBR in the afternoon. That night, Connor had Brower baseball that Clint ran him to before his Baseball board meeting.  Maci and I picked up Connor from Brower and then I ran her to Soccer practice.  Clint picked up Maci after his board meeting and ran her home.
  • Thursday - I worked from home due to a busy agenda. At 530p I ran Connor to a haircut - it looks great!  I then hustled home for Maci to get picked up for soccer practice and then I ran Connor to his basketball practice since Clint left with the 3 neighbor guys for their annual snowmobile weekend.  Thankfully Andy ran Connor home from practice while I ran the girls home from practice.
Friday:
  • A busy morning of work followed by get stuff done time in the afternoon.
  • I ran to get my nails done at  5p
  • Then the kids and I headed to the Wayzata Varsity basketball game at 7p vs Maple Grove.  Unfortunately, we lost to them again by 3 - they are our only other loss so far this year.
  • We got home and Tena/Carrie came over for hot tub, cocktails and catch up.  They left around 11p and I headed to bed.
Saturday:
  • I slept in until about 9a and then continued to lay in bed all morning binging the first 4 episodes of this Bridgerton season
  • Around 1230p I had to pause and run Maci to her soccer training - while she was there, Connor and I hung at the Starbucks and I got to finish my show.
  • We headed home to nap and chill
  • At 545p we headed to Applebee's for mom/kid night out
  • After dinner, we hopped over to the movie for Zootopia 2 - so cute!
  • We got home around 9p and I hit the laundry and around 10p Clint arrived back from snowmobiling fun.
Sunday:
  • Up and at 'em at 7a
  • Clint and Connor were off to Woodbury by 745a.
  • I was driving separate so was able to finish folding whites and get ready
  • I made it for game 1 (905a) of Connor's tourney and they had a great W against Woodbury
  • I then hauled all the way back home for Maci's scrimmage at 11a - they had a dominating 4-0 W with Maci having the assist on the 3rd goal and then her own goal for goal #4 - a gorgeous rip to the top of the net.
  • Maci and I then jumped in the car and headed back out to Woodbury for game 3 (Championship!) b/c Connor's team won Game 2, which I missed.
  • We got there in time for the final game and they played smart basketball and won a tight game 36-33 against Blaine - 1st place!!!!  Nice work boys!
  • We took our pics with the medals and then headed home for some to dos around the house ahead of the Super Bowl.
  • We have to say this Super Bowl was a bit boring but still fun to watch it together as a family in our living room.  We enjoyed some Wings for dinner and a cookie skillet for dessert.
  • Now Connor is finishing up his reading, Maci has already left us and I am about to hit the hay myself.
  • What a fun day of sports!!
1st Place!!!

Tired on the drive home

Kellie's Dublin Adventure, Clint's Week Solo w. Kids & Another Great Basketball Tourney!

Last Weekend's 3rd Place Finish While I Flew to Amsterdam

Weekdays:

  • Monday - I arrived in Dublin around 12p their time which was early morning for me.  We powered through the afternoon on adrenaline and enjoyed some room service for dinner.  While I saw Dublin for the first time, Clint and Connor had basketball practice.
Sights of Dublin Walking at Night
  • Tuesday - A full day of meetings for me and then a yummy big team dinner at Hugos in Dublin.  While I did this, Clint managed the kids and got Connor to basketball and Maci to soccer practice.
Connor got MVP of practice +
Clint paid him $20 for 2 steals and a breakaway layup in their scrimmage
  • Wednesday - Another full day of meetings for me and another smaller team dinner at Charlotte Quay.  This was my last day in Ireland - super quick trip but good team time nonetheless.  That night Connor had Brower baseball and Maci had a late soccer practice.
  • Thursday - I got picked up from the hotel at 3a Dublin time for my first flight to Amsterdam.  Thankfully it was a smooth flight and I chatted with a co-worker most of the flight.  We quickly queued up for flight 2 from Amsterdam to Minneapolis.  We got settled in and I zonked out!  We took about an hour to take off due to deicing which is rare for Amsterdam.  I slept about the first 3 hours and then was up the final 4.  I got some email cleaned and enjoyed a pretty bump free/smooth flight.  Clint kindly picked me up around 2p.  I got home and hung around until Connor got home - he was so happy to see me!! :) We decided to lay down together around 330p and I ended up sleeping until 530a the next day - Damn you jet lag!!!  I only woke up here and there for some food, to say hi to Maci etc.  Clint kindly managed Maci's soccer training and practice while I zonked out.
Friday:
  • I made it through the day with minimal tired moments but feeling just a bit off.
  • I wisely decided to back out of the annual retreat for the board I am on as I think that would have put me over the top.
  • I got a lot done in the afternoon and into the early evening.
  • Unfortunately around 630p it was hitting me hard so Clint went to our neighborhood belated holiday party solo while I went to bed early yet again.
  • While he was gone and I slept, Connor went with the Janko's to dome baseball training.
Saturday:
  • Up and at 'em trying to get laundry moving.
  • Clint went to a massage and I tidied up around the house.
  • Before we know it, it was time to drop Maci at Isla's house (birthday party later in the day) and then to Prior Lake for Connor's basketball tourney.
  • Game 1 was a nice blow out by us against Shakopee - Connor was on fire, great defense and at least 10 points!  He got MVP!
  • Game 2 was vs Minnetonka - JD (Annie from Maci's soccer team's brother) and Connor was excited to match up.  Connor played some great defense - made a few buckets including a deep 3 pointer but unfortunately we came out flat after the half time and lost by ~15 points.
  • On to the game to play for 3 or 4th.  We won a tight one over Lakeville South and took another 3rd place finish!!
  • While we were at Game 2 and 3, Maci rode with her pal Isla to Nella's birthday party at Elm Creek's snow tubing hill 430-730p.
  • Thankful for Isla's parents who got them to and from.
  • We rolled up at home and Maci had just gotten here a little bit prior herself.
  • We got comfy and watched the Timberwolves game before calling it for the night.

Snow Tubing Birthday Party Fun!
Sunday:
  • Maci and I hit up Clara and Harper's FDP Fusion soccer game at 11a where they won 5-4 and we got to see a goal by each of them!  They were so excited to see Maci there.
  • Afterward, she and I were off to her training in St Paul.  During the training, I got some stuff done at the Starbucks.
  • While we were gone, Clint went to a bourbon raffle at the Hy-Vee with some of the guys.
  • Maci and I grabbed some lunch and got home around 3p.
  • Now we are getting all the Sunday to dos done: laundry, groceries, homework.
  • Maci has 2 3v3 soccer games yet tonight at 7p & 730p - I'm excited to see them since I had to miss last week's with my flight to Dublin.
