Back to School & Labor Day Weekend in Chicago for Soccer!!

Weekdays:

• Monday - Connor had his 1st day of school! Big man on campus given he is in 5th grade, last year at Greenwood Elementary. I was able to see him off and then head to a Dr apt before heading into the office. After work, Connor had football practice and Maci had her Training Haus for soccer.

• Tuesday - Maci had her 1st day of school! Big gal on campus for her given she is in 8th grade and last year at Wayzata West Middle School. We also got her school pictures and she keeps up the tradition of gorgeous school pics! Clint loved having the house back to himself. The cleaning ladies came and we had a plumber take care of a clog in our kitchen sink. That evening I peeled out of work to Connor's first football game in Maple Grove. They won 28-0 - Connor played great and we went to Robert's with the Janko's who kindly came to watch us play.  Maci had soccer practice and Clint ran to pick them up at 930p.

Football & Baseball Bros!

• Wednesday - Good normal day for all followed by football practice for Connor and soccer practice for Maci.
• Thursday - Our Fridays - thank goodness for no school and PTO on Friday! I started the day with my annual dermatologist apt, no concerns! Clint ran Connor to some training with Jordan for baseball after school.  Then Connor went to baseball practice while Clint helped with football practice. Maci had soccer practice and I was the late pick up. To stay awake, I packed and watched The Preacher's Wife on Netflix. While I was picking them up, Clint did his Verplank fantasy football draft.

Friday:

• I got up and at 'em to pack the kids, finish my packing and speak with a recruiter at 7a.
• It was nice to have the peace and quiet to myself outside with a coffee and phone call.
• Afterward, I listened in to our MBR for my business.
• I ran Connor to and from open gym.
• Then I got my nails done at 1045a.
• Once I was done with nails, I ran home, we packed the car and we were on the road to Chicago for Maci's soccer tournament.
• We got in a little after dinner time but hung out with our fav adults in the lobby and then called it a night.

Saturday:

• Lots of walks outside and down time as the girls didnt have their first game until 530p so we had a lot of time to kill. The girls needed to keep their energy so they played board games etc. Connor and JD watched college football and played PS5 all day long! I took multiple walks with Clint and then with some of the moms.
• Finally it was go time, we played Indy Premier 1st who we lost to in this tournament 2-5 last year.  We got down 0-2 but then tied it up and were looking great but then in the final few minutes we allowed them to bang another one in, 2-3 L Urgh!
• We hustled back to the hotel, ate some catered spaghetti and then got to bed b/c our 1st game was EARLY on Sunday.

Sunday:

• Alarm went off at 5a, breakfast at 530a, in the car by 6a and at the field by 630a - Ouch!
• We played a Galaxy team that should have been a W, not sure what was up with our team this weekend!  We got down 1-0 and could NOT get a goal. We finally tied it up but then quicky gave up a 2nd goal.  Then in the final mins as we were pushing it, our goalie kicked a girl after they collided, he gave a PK and she scored. Game over 1-3 L - Urgh!
• Back to the hotel to rest, pack up as we know we are done so can head home after game 2 of the day, no Championship Monday for us!
• Pack to the field for our 12p game - our game times really did stink! Now we were playing the team that has been winning all games thus far, great! But we were back on turf which our girls LOVE!  We got out to a quick 1-0 lead.  We kept playing them tough but then let a few easy goals in and before we knew it, we were only at 1-4. . . this weekend was a weekend of odd passing, trying to dribble too much and MISSING the goal consistently.  We could NOT finish - frustrating but we were so Proud of Maci!  She worked her tail off all weekend long!  She had some great moments and stayed positive throughout.
• We piled in the car and made the 6 hour drive home, pulling up around 8p. Clint and I climbed right into bed exhausted from the early wake up time, drive and weekend away from home.
• Silver lining is to get our Holiday Monday at home - time to enjoy the last day of summer with the pool at the club on Monday.

Annual Fair Day & Last Week Before School Starts!!

Weekdays:

• Monday - Connor had an awesome day at Valley Fair amusement park with his buddy John J.  That night he had football practice and Maci had her training haus with her team.

• Tuesday - Clint had a golfing fundraiser in the morning with his buddy Brad. That afternoon Maci headed to her pal Isla's house for her birthday party/slumber party.  Connor had a football walk through and then team bonding dinner at the Sorenson's. While they were there, I grabbed Maci from her party and took her to practice and then Clint picked her up and brought her back to Isla's for the rest of the party.

• Wednesday - Clint picked up Maci late morning.  Connor had his open house at Greenwood, last year as a big 5th grader. He thinks he is going to like his teacher - seems like a nice guy only 2 years out of school and last year taught kindergarten. Then from open house, we hustled to the high school for their youth football extravaganza. I headed up there too to be able to watch his team scrimmage on the big field. Connor kept a QB sneak and ran it 30 yards for a TD!!!  That was the only TD of the entire scrimmage. When I asked if he heard the high schoolers cheering on the sideline, he said "nah, I just kept thinking, don't catch me River" - River is a buddy from basketball that was on the other team HAHA. During this, Maci had her soccer practice and I left from there to pick up the girls and we got Culver's ice cream on the way home.
• Thursday - Connor got invited to go up to our club pool with his buddy Oliver Thursday afternoon - likely the last swim of the year. Connor and Maci then did a dual training at 4p at Training Haus. That night, Connor had 1st practice of Baseball while Clint still went to football practice to help coach. While they were there, I ran Maci to get a back to school haircut and then took the girls to their soccer practice.

Friday:

• Clint golfed 9 with our neighbor Simon at 8a
• I took Connor to some open gym and worked from the high school from 900-1030a
• I got some more work done but then around 230p we called it and got ready to head to the MN State Fair.
• It was a nice day but super crowded!! We got to run into the Codys and Bradleys. Connor won a sweet fitted hat, Maci loved the food and rides and Clint beat the "senior" record for pitching HA. We left the fair around 10p, latest we have ever stayed and got home to our house around 11p. What a fun day at the Fair!

Saturday:

• We were able to sleep in and have a slow morning!
• Connor went to Anna's for a birthday party/sleepover around 1230p.
• I took a nice afternoon nap 
• Clint and I went out for a date night to COV and then to the club for drinks 
• Maci had a super nice lazy day at home!

Sunday:

• Another nice slow morning - Maci took a walk with us.
• Clint picked up Connor from Anna's at 10a
• We had a productive day around the house and getting everything ready for the week ahead and back to school - Connor starts Monday and Maci on Tuesday!
• Then at 330p Maci and I headed for University of MN where her team and other TFE teams were watching the U of Minnesota vs St Thomas girls soccer - both teams have many former TFE players and some coaches.  U of MN pulled out the close 2-1 win.
• Now Connor is off to bed, Maci is planning out what to wear Tuesday, Clint is finishing some work and I am ready to unwind before bed.

Can't believe summer is "over" and the 26-27 school year is upon us! This is a big year for our crew with Maci finishing middle school and Connor finishing elementary school!! We wish everyone a wonderful school year ahead!

A Week Packed with NFL Football Fun!

Weekdays:

• Monday - I had a Dr Apt. Maci and Connor did Training Haus together. Connor had night 1 of football practice.
• Tuesday - Maci & Connor had a 6 month dental cleaning. Connor then went to some open gym for basketball. Maci had her 1st soccer practice of the new season. Connor wrapped the day with more football practice.
• Wednesday - We took the day off and had an awesome day!!  We met up with my friend from high school, Rachelle, and her family at the Vikings vs Ravens joint practice.  Her husband, Jesse, is now the head coach of the Ravens.  She got us field passes so we could watch the practice and then get autographs afterward.  It was so cool!  Connor got so many autographs: Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, JJ McCarthy, Andrew VanGinkle, Coach Kevin O'Connell, Xavier Flowers etc.  Afterward, Connor and Maci went to Training Haus to work off that high HA!  That night, Connor had to go to football while Clint and I went to the lawn bowling fundraiser for my non-profit, eQuality.  We teamed up with the Janko's and won the entire thing! I love a good trophy :)

• Thursday - Maci had another soccer practice, Connor had the ortho and then Maci and I went to her Middle School open house/pictures while Connor had football pictures.  We then all crashed and Clint did one of his fantasy drafts.

Friday:

• Connor had open gym in the morning for basketball 
• Around 3p, Rachelle and her family plus my buddy PJ came over to see our house, eat some pizza and hang for a bit before they had more meetings.

Saturday:

• Up and at 'em - we got a walk in and then got ready for the Vikings vs Ravens pre-season game.
• Again we got to go on the field (our kids are spoiled for life) - we took some pics before game and then had great seats on the 50 yard line visitor side.
• We were able to cheer the Ravens to victory.
• We gave our big hugs goodbye and we were off in our own directions.
• Maci had a soccer scrimmage at Prior Lake High School.  They beat the team 4-0 and it felt great to get back in the action again!

Sunday:

• A nice slow Sunday morning followed by a productive afternoon.
• At 6p I sent Clint and Connor off to downtown for Connor's 1st concert!!!  Tim McGraw with openers Lady A and The Chicks.  HE LOVED IT!!!
• Clint really enjoyed it too, especially seeing how in to it Connor was.
• The concert was at Target Field and it was a gorgeous night + Connor got to hear what he calls the "skydiving song" = Aka live like you were dying. :)
