Moms Go Wild, Last Grizzly Dash & Crazy Busy Sports Weekend!!

Weekdays:

• Monday: This was an at home learning day for the kids, which basically meant a day of goofing off and having fun with friends. At least for Connor! Maci slept in too, but she had more middle school work to get done. I was at the office, so I missed all the doorbell rings from Connor's buddies, HA! That night, Connor had football practice and Maci had Training Haus fitness class.
• Tuesday: Connor had football practice again that night, and Maci had a later practice that, fortunately, I got out of driving for.
• Wednesday: Clint took the Toyota in for standard maintenance, and I had a leadership onsite with the Optum People Team. It was actually a pretty good session. On my way to dinner, we found out Connor made his same A team for basketball, and he is super pumped about the kids on his team this year. We have really good attitudes and athletes! Clint is going to be the head coach since our typical coach's kid moved to the other A team. Good luck, Clint, and thanks for doing this! I then had some apps at COV with coworkers before calling it a day and heading home to decompress. Maci had soccer practice, and Clint managed that while I was at the work event.

• Thursday: I had a few interesting outside conversations with an external contact, so we will see where that goes. Connor went to baseball practice while Clint helped at football practice. I headed over to Stephanie Hoglund's house for a viewing party for a new reality show about baseball parents. Sarah, Lyndsay, and I joined Stephanie for some apps and wine. Well, a lot of wine and laughs! We had such a great time that I asked Clint to get Maci from soccer practice and then come drive me home at 10:30p. :) Clint also drove Lyndsay home. 

Sarah and I felt fine the next day but Lyndsay went on to have a migraine Friday, and Stephanie was sick. HA! But it was so fun to have some laughs with other moms in the midst of crazy work and life!!

Friday:

• Clint and I got up and at 'em to get in a walk, grab bagels, and pick up my car from Stephanie's, all before our first 9a calls.
• At 10:30a, Clint and I ran up to Greenwood for our family's final Grizzly Dash. Since Connor is a 5th grader, we won't have these anymore! Per usual, Connor ran it as if there was a winner, HA. He then went on to tell us he also wants to add cross country to his list of sports because, obviously, he has so much time, HAHA!
• That evening, Connor mooched his way into the Wayzata football game with his buddy Miles.
• Maci decided to have a low key evening at home.
• Clint and I met up with Trip and Lori Brubacher for dinner before they head out on a two month European journey.

Saturday:

• We started the day with Connor and some open gym for basketball.
• We then headed home to get some things done while Clint was working on the baseball fields.
• Maci and I headed up to get our nails done at 12p. I got my fingers done, and she got a much needed pedicure.
• Connor then had football in the drizzling rain at 3p. Maci and I showed up for the first 30 minutes but had to run to her soccer game. Unfortunately, they went on to lose. I guess rain isn't their friend! Connor did have a great throw as QB though.
• Maci's game was at 5:15p, and Clint and Connor got there right around kickoff. We were playing a SUPER physical team from Milwaukee. The girls held their own, and after going down 1 to 3 at half, they fought back to pull out a 3-3 draw.
• Afterward, Maci asked me to take her to the soccer game of the boy she is talking to, but on our way there at 8:30p, she got a text that they had to cancel because the lights weren't working.
• We headed home and got cozy for a night in after a full day in the drizzle.

Sunday:

• Up and at 'em with Maci's game at 10a. They had another physical matchup but pulled off the 1-0 W!
• We then hustled to Connor's first game versus Edina, and we won in walk off fashion, with Connor having some great hits and nice pitching!
• I ran Maci to Mikah's birthday party, a soccer friend, in between the games and watched my Bengals lose a close one versus the Steelers.
• I got back in time for Connor's second game versus Orono, who wants to beat us so bad, but per usual, we held them off and won by one run!!!
• After the games, we hustled to Lucky 13 and met Maci there for Andrew's 45th birthday party. Andrew is Connor's baseball coach and a dear family friend of ours.
• We finally pulled up to the house around 9p, ready to call it for the weekend!

Nebraska/Iowa Weekend for Clint & Maci while Kellie & Connor celebrated Medina Days & every sport!!

Weekdays:

• Monday - Connor and Maci both had some FastBridge tests at school to get a baseline. Maci had a soccer training in the evening, but the rest of our night was pretty chill.
• Tuesday - Cleaning lady came for the day, we all love that day! Maci had an ortho appointment to get her braces tightened. We met up as a family at Jimmy John's since all proceeds went to Greenwood School. Later that night, Maci had soccer practice.
• Wednesday - I had a really nice open calendar for the day, so rare! That night I had a hair appointment and flew from there to Connor's football game. They had a sweet come-from-behind win, with Connor scoring a TD to bring them within one! Then we had a crazy scramble for another TD, got the extra point and won! Clint had to hustle to a baseball board meeting, and Connor and I ran to get Maci from her practice.

• Thursday - Rainy day, which lent itself to no football or baseball practice. Maci did have soccer since she was on the turf, but overall it was a pretty low-key evening for our crew.

Friday:

• Clint ran Rosie to the groomer and then headed to get Maci from school around 12p so they could hit the road to Nebraska for a weekend of soccer.
• I picked Rosie up from the groomer and she was so happy!
• I got a lot of work done and then Connor was home.
• Connor and I ran to the hair salon at 5:15p because he had a haircut.
• We then grabbed some dinner and chilled at the house watching football.

Saturday:

• Connor had an open gym early in the morning.
• We then hustled home to get ready for his football game.
• While they warmed up, I watched Maci's game from the car. They beat Nebraska 4-0!!!
• Connor's football game didn't go as well. We played a tough Minnetonka team and lost 0-14.
• Afterward, we ran to AT&T and got Connor his phone.
• We were home for a bit and then it was time to take him to Lincoln's birthday party. I drove four boys there and did a little shopping at Dick's for Connor.
• Jenny was kind enough to bring the boys home, and Connor begged me to take him to Medina Celebration Day to see friends and watch fireworks. We were home by 9p watching football again

Team Fun!

Sunday:

• Day 2 of basketball tryouts for Connor. He got in the car crying, and I think all the nerves had just mounted up. He kept it together until he was safe with me. We had a good chat about what went well on the way to baseball, and it seemed just fine :)
• We got to baseball and they were winning by 10, so he got to hop into the lineup and even pitch.
• They won games 1 and 2, with Connor having the game-winning hit in game 2, so he got the game ball!
• While there, I also watched the Bengals go 2-0, and Maci's team played Des Moines and won 2-0!
• Connor and I ate at Robert's with the Jankos, and then it was time to head to 3v3 basketball, where he did a nice job.
• At 9p, the rest of our crew pulled back into the house.

What a busy but yet another fun fall weekend!

Labor Day, Kellie's Nasty Cold, JJ Hill Days & All the Sports!!

Weekdays:

• Monday - Happy Labor Day! We were back home after the drive from Chicago on Sunday. We were able to get some things done around the house and then headed up to the club for the last day of the pool, even if it was a little windy.
• Tuesday - Back to school and work, with Connor having football practice and Maci having soccer practice in the evening.
• Wednesday - Maci had her FastBridge reading test. I had a lunch meeting for the board I am on. At night, Connor had more football practice and Maci had more soccer.
• Thursday - I woke up feeling like absolute crap. It started with a sore throat on Sunday and each day got progressively worse. I powered through and made it to my facial appointment that night, and she was able to push so much around in my sinuses. I came home and crashed. While I slept, Maci had soccer practice and Clint and Connor went to the Wayzata vs. Edina varsity football game, where Wayzata pulled off an amazing win!!

Friday:

• I had an 8a interview followed by celebrating Erin's last day before realizing there was no way I could keep going. I cancelled most of my meetings and took multiple naps.
• Clint took the kids to the back-to-school bash at the country club while I slept. Ugh, I hate colds!!

Saturday:

• Connor had a basketball clinic at 8:30a.
• Maci had a noon game vs. St. Louis and had an unfortunate 1-2 loss.
• While I was at her game, Connor had a football game and was a beast!!! Their team is doing great!
• Connor then went to John Janko's birthday party while I napped. Stupid cold!
• Clint did some field prep while I went to JJ Hill Days with Maci. After running into some friends, she was ready to drop me, so I headed home to finish laundry.
• I picked her back up at 8:30p and then we met up with Clint and the Jankos, plus some other guys, at Robert's for drinks and food. We had a lot of fun talking with Maci about a boy who has been messaging her. She is growing up so fast.

Birthday Party Fun - Virtual Reality

Sunday:

• Maci had a 9a game vs. Central IL. After going down 0-1, Maci found the back of the net! Then we went down 2-1, but Maci had a great assist to Isabel to tie it 2-2. We went on to score two more goals and win 4-2!! Yay!!!
• Connor then had day one of basketball tryouts and felt good about it.
• We flew from tryouts to Connor's fall baseball games. They did great and won both!
• We had a little downtime at home and then were off to 3v3 for Connor at Orono in the evening at 8:20 and 8:45p.

Back to School & Labor Day Weekend in Chicago for Soccer!!

Weekdays:

• Monday - Connor had his 1st day of school! Big man on campus given he is in 5th grade, last year at Greenwood Elementary. I was able to see him off and then head to a Dr apt before heading into the office. After work, Connor had football practice and Maci had her Training Haus for soccer.

• Tuesday - Maci had her 1st day of school! Big gal on campus for her given she is in 8th grade and last year at Wayzata West Middle School. We also got her school pictures and she keeps up the tradition of gorgeous school pics! Clint loved having the house back to himself. The cleaning ladies came and we had a plumber take care of a clog in our kitchen sink. That evening I peeled out of work to Connor's first football game in Maple Grove. They won 28-0 - Connor played great and we went to Robert's with the Janko's who kindly came to watch us play.  Maci had soccer practice and Clint ran to pick them up at 930p.

Football & Baseball Bros!

• Wednesday - Good normal day for all followed by football practice for Connor and soccer practice for Maci.
• Thursday - Our Fridays - thank goodness for no school and PTO on Friday! I started the day with my annual dermatologist apt, no concerns! Clint ran Connor to some training with Jordan for baseball after school.  Then Connor went to baseball practice while Clint helped with football practice. Maci had soccer practice and I was the late pick up. To stay awake, I packed and watched The Preacher's Wife on Netflix. While I was picking them up, Clint did his Verplank fantasy football draft.

Friday:

• I got up and at 'em to pack the kids, finish my packing and speak with a recruiter at 7a.
• It was nice to have the peace and quiet to myself outside with a coffee and phone call.
• Afterward, I listened in to our MBR for my business.
• I ran Connor to and from open gym.
• Then I got my nails done at 1045a.
• Once I was done with nails, I ran home, we packed the car and we were on the road to Chicago for Maci's soccer tournament.
• We got in a little after dinner time but hung out with our fav adults in the lobby and then called it a night.

Saturday:

• Lots of walks outside and down time as the girls didnt have their first game until 530p so we had a lot of time to kill. The girls needed to keep their energy so they played board games etc. Connor and JD watched college football and played PS5 all day long! I took multiple walks with Clint and then with some of the moms.
• Finally it was go time, we played Indy Premier 1st who we lost to in this tournament 2-5 last year.  We got down 0-2 but then tied it up and were looking great but then in the final few minutes we allowed them to bang another one in, 2-3 L Urgh!
• We hustled back to the hotel, ate some catered spaghetti and then got to bed b/c our 1st game was EARLY on Sunday.

Sunday:

• Alarm went off at 5a, breakfast at 530a, in the car by 6a and at the field by 630a - Ouch!
• We played a Galaxy team that should have been a W, not sure what was up with our team this weekend!  We got down 1-0 and could NOT get a goal. We finally tied it up but then quicky gave up a 2nd goal.  Then in the final mins as we were pushing it, our goalie kicked a girl after they collided, he gave a PK and she scored. Game over 1-3 L - Urgh!
• Back to the hotel to rest, pack up as we know we are done so can head home after game 2 of the day, no Championship Monday for us!
• Pack to the field for our 12p game - our game times really did stink! Now we were playing the team that has been winning all games thus far, great! But we were back on turf which our girls LOVE!  We got out to a quick 1-0 lead.  We kept playing them tough but then let a few easy goals in and before we knew it, we were only at 1-4. . . this weekend was a weekend of odd passing, trying to dribble too much and MISSING the goal consistently.  We could NOT finish - frustrating but we were so Proud of Maci!  She worked her tail off all weekend long!  She had some great moments and stayed positive throughout.
• We piled in the car and made the 6 hour drive home, pulling up around 8p. Clint and I climbed right into bed exhausted from the early wake up time, drive and weekend away from home.
• Silver lining is to get our Holiday Monday at home - time to enjoy the last day of summer with the pool at the club on Monday.
