MBT Basketball Camp, TFE Try Outs + Gopher State Baseball Tourney Weekend!!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - Connor had an ortho apt and then joined a few buddies at MBT Basketball camp from 9a-3p. Maci had day 1 of TFE try outs and felt good coming out of them. Connor had a baseball game in the evening vs Eden Prairie and we got the W knocking them out of the league playoffs. Afterward we hosted the Janko's for the men's horrible US game followed by some outdoor hanging with a cocktail.
  • Tuesday - Another day of MBT camp for Connor, this time it was Jersey day. Maci had day 2 and final day of tryouts and felt really good after this day - said she was having a great day on the pitch! Connor had baseball practice in the evening. I crashed early as I was spent after trying to get back in the swing of things post PTO!
  • Wednesday - Woke up to some missed emails including the one that said Maci made TFE again!!  Yay!!!  Her entire crew stays together but one girl left for MTA, one didnt try out and we had an open spot so 3 new girls!!  Now Maci gets to just enjoy the down time before it all starts back up again in Mid August. Day 3 of MBT for Connor (neon day) and I wrapped my day with a hair cut/color at Urban Eve. I really liked the results with this new girl and about 1/2 the price of what I was shelling out at Juut.

  • Thursday - Final Day of MBT for Connor man.  Maci did a training haus fitness class. I had a facial and brow wax to end my day! It was amazing. I then chatted with the baseball coaches for a bit as they were over for state tourney preparations before heading to bed.
Friday:
  • I had a morning full of meetings
  • Clint got the Toyota serviced early in the morning
  • He, Connor and Maci headed to game 1 of Connor's for the Gopher State Tourney at 10a while I finished calls - they got the W in a tighter than it probably should have been at the end game.
  • I then wrapped up my work and hauled out to meet them for the 2p game in the HOT sun!  We once again pulled out the W with Connor getting on the bump to end it and in such sweet fashion with the last batter being a strike out!!!!  Maci screamed "that's my brother" and we all had some good smiles.
  • We hauled out of there with plans to go to the Cosmic baseball game BUT everyone was hot tired and not wanting to stay up late so we ate the tickets and instead headed to the club to dip in the pool and then go to bed early.
She was rocking her job as DJ
Saturday:
  • Game 3 of pool play was at 9a and once again we pulled out a good W against a strong team - Connor again got to get on the bump and end it with a strike out!
  • We went to a golf course for some lunch in between which turned out to be a great way to cool off in their AC before another hot one.
  • We were now in bracket play so lose and go home. Once again we lost in the same game as last year! We played a tough team from way up north with kids the size of Clint. . .I don't know how they were 10.  They were hitting and we were not fielding - bottom line.  Connor had a great game and was pretty emotional when it ended. However, his coach said some great words to him and we got him to head up to the pool with us to cool off and have some fun. We wrapped the night with a yummy late dinner in the club dining room. Silver lining, we get our Sunday back now!
Dug Out Fun
Sunday:
  • Super productive day on a super hot summer Sunday!
  • We debated going to the pool or to the Rodeo parade but everyone was just so sick of the sun and heat that we stayed around the house instead.
  • Connor played video games and Maci zoned on her phone. Clint ran some errands for us and I got a whole lot of needs around the house complete. We never feel caught up but it felt good to put a dent in the to do list.
  • After dinner we all headed up to the high school to watch Connor and team play in their 3v3 league. It was clear they were all tired from a hot weekend and rusty from 4th of July weekend off. . . HA but they won game #2 and we all went home with a smile.
Ready to call it a weekend and hope this next heat wave isnt as bad as they think. . . dang summer you are kicking in! :)

Gilroy Beach Vacation & 4th of July Festivities!!

 Weekdays:

  • Monday - A big group of people went golfing while the rest of us hit up the beach and some banana boating. Once they were back, we went to dinner at the Grumpy Munk and cheered on Paraguay to victory over Germany - wahoo!!!  We did shots, it was loud, we were fun!

  • Tuesday - Pool and Beach during the day! Christie (Best friend from college) and her family were ironically in North Myrtle on the same week so they came to our beach for a part of the day.  Clint and Connor had to head off for their 4 hour deep sea fishing excursion.  I guess it was pretty choppy so the boys were all feeling a bit rough.  While they suffered through that HA the ladies went to dinner and shopping at Barefoot landing. The boys did catch a shark but that wont get Connor to do it again HA.

  • Wednesday - Last Day . . . Sad!  We hung by the pool most of the day and then went into South Myrtle Beach to see the Boardwalk. After exploring, we came home and got dressed up for some family pictures on the beach before wrapping the day at Hooters cheering on the US Mens Soccer team to victory!!!

  • Thursday - Travel day!  We had to check out by 10a and many got on the road by 9a. My parents and Kendall went in an uber to the airport around the same time.  Molly/Caymen and my immediate family headed to waffle house for breakfast and then to Christie's condo for swimming and hanging until we had to head to the airport around 2p. It was so great to see Christie's family again and to see her parents who I havent seen in over a decade. We had a pretty smooth flight home and were happy to see our dogs when we reached the house around 8p - so tired!

Friday:
  • Nice chill day back at home
  • Connor did some hitting at Brower at 1015a
  • Maci went to the St Louis Park pool with a friend, Ellie, from school
  • I got my nails done - fingers and toes at 1230p
  • I then napped and watched soccer - dang we wanted Cape Verde!
  • We headed up to the Club around 7p for live music and then fire works at 10p - Maci was glad to find her friend Livi and Connor hung with Eli and Oliver
Saturday:
  • Happy 4th of July!
  • We got up and at 'em around 6a to get to the Janko's cabin for boating, BBQ and fireworks
  • We were on the lake by 10a and the kids LOVED the tube.  We did some floating in the water and got a lot of nice sun
  • We stopped for lunch at Zorbaz and got back to their house just before a storm rolled through
  • We had some dinner and then it dried out so the kids started 4 wheeling before we went back out on the boat for fireworks
  • Then things took a turn. . . Maci was on the back of Harper's 4 wheeler with no helmet (she feels really bad about this part) and took a tree branch to the dome without seeing it coming.  I came out to check on them and here comes Maci from the wooded trail covered in dirt and crying
  • We calmed her down a bit and got her to rest but after lots of discussion, we decided to take her to the ER to check for concussion/whiplash etc.
  • The Jankos kept Connor and drove to the fireworks to watch from a car while we hung out with all the other crazies in the ER.  Thankfully during the wait, she started to feel better and better and ultimately had no concussion and just a little whiplash. Everyone was excited to see her when we pulled back up, especially poor Harper who was so sad and scared for her.
  • A 4th to remember :)

Sunday:
  • Woke up at the Cabin
  • Thankfully Maci is showing 0 signs of concussion and just a titch of a sore neck
  • We ate breakfast and played some ping pong before packing up and hitting the road back home
  • Clint and I got a lot of things done around the house while Connor played video games and Maci napped on and off to rest her body.
  • We had a wonderful break and ready to get back into routine.
Connor fell back asleep on the floor
