Maci Eats Rice Cereal

Last night we tried a little rice cereal at dinner for Maci girl.  Our pediatrician was hopeful that this will fill her up even more and help her to get back to sleeping through the night for us again.  Unfortunately, it didn't prove to be true last night since our new found chunker still woke up at 3a for a 4oz bottle but it was still really fun to watch her try to eat off a spoon!  We cant wait to feed her some more cereal tonight.  The Dr also said we could start other foods, mainly veggies, between 4-6 months but we are going to hold off to closer to the 6 month mark.  I don't want her growing up too fast!!!  :)

Happy Memorial Day & Maci's 4 Month Dr Appt!!

Yesterday Maci and I had an awesome Monday off from work and daycare! Clint went golfing with some friends around 8a which is too early for us gals :-) We slept until 1030a and when I got out of the shower miss Maci had decided she was ready to get out of her PJ's and was doing so with or without me :-)

We later had a yummy lunch with friends at Burger Jone's and relaxed in the evening just in time for mommy to catch the new season of the Bachelorette.

This morning Maci had her 4 month check up!  She did great and the Dr said she is right on developmentally even a little advanced with rolling, talking etc.  She still cant believe how strong Maci is and how well she holds up her head at this point!!  Our lil peanut isn't such a peanut anymore.  She is still on the low side of height and weight but growing like a weed!  She was 11lbs 14oz so double birth weight YAY and 23 1/2 inches.  I wish I could have spent the rest of the day with her but alas it was time to go to work.

First Trip to the Zoo!!

Today was a gorgeous 70 degrees and sunny!  What a perfect day for Clint to take the day off and for me to wrap up work early =)  Maci LOVED the zoo and was really mesmerized by all the sites to see!  I think her favorite was either the prairie dogs or the aquarium.  Most of the day she road around on daddy in the Bjorn carrier.  We were smart and went after her good 2 hour morning nap and she only napped for about 20 mins in the stroller at one point.  Otherwise, her eyes were wide open and staring at all the animals.  We look forward to many more trips to the zoo!  I also look forward to taking her to the Cincy zoo hopefully when we are home for a week this August.  Today made me remember so many great childhood memories at the zoo.  Clint and I both admitted to missing field trips =)  Enjoy our pics and for those that may visit this summer, this may be a must do as it really is a Nice Zoo!

Maci Turns 4 Months!!!!!!!!

The Mondell's have been on the go so much lately and I hate that I don't keep up on the blog more regularly!

Let's see what have we been up to :

Tuesday was Maci's first night without the brace for bed time!!  She has been out of her hip brace for 3 weeks now but was asked to ween out of it by wearing it to bed for 3 weeks.  We are now fully and officially brace Free!!!!

Wednesday I had a happy hour with the mommy and me girls so Maci and her daddy chilled at home - tell me she doesnt look like Clint Jr in this picture?!  Except I don't think Clint ever wore Pink Sparkly Pants :)

Yesterday Maci turned 4 months!!!  Holy cow where did our itty bitty baby go?  We know she is still petite for her age but she is looking much more like a 4 month old infant then newborn! 

Some fun 4 month facts about our lil lady before we share the photo shoot!

• We guess her to weigh between 11-12 lbs through very rough weight checks at home
• She has her 4 month appt and shots :( Tuesday morning after the long holiday weekend
• She wears 3 month clothes and still fits some 0-3 month but all Newborn are packed away!
• Maci LOVES to Talk - Surprise surprise - Daycare constantly tells me how much she loves talking to the older babies!!!
• She is still a pacifier kid through and through - her paci saves any melt downs!
• Maci is already a little stinker and knows how to work both her parents =)
• The past few weeks toys have become of an interest like her rings, Sophie Giraffe, O ball, baby paper etc - basically anything made for little grabbing
• The last week, Maci has started to pay more attention when I read her books so we are working on our vocab and with daddy's genes we should start spelling too HA
• Maci has rolled a few times that we have seen but she seems much more interested in crawling and dragging herself around a blanket
• She smiles the most for Daddy
• Her sleeping was GREAT and the last week has been HELL - we will be talking to the pediatrician next week
• She still goes down easy, always has, but about 4 hours in wakes up and wants to play UGH
• Her favorite thing to do at daycare is play in a vibrating chair that has toys attached!
• She LOVES walks in the strollers and is happy to be outside and not just inside malls all day!
• Things we are waiting for : LAUGHING (gah so close), consistent rolling, grabbing and picking up toys vs being handed them and hair (her current hair situation is a mix of male pattern baldness, rat tail/mullet and all different shades and coloring

Today we are heading to the Zoo for the first time!!!  Looking forward to see if Maci reacts to any animals - she is currently napping in prep - pics to follow!!!

Ps - We miss OH friends and family and cant wait to see as many as possible when we are home for a week starting August 24th!!  Visitors are also always welcomed - MN is the BEST in Spring/Summer!!

Weekend of Play!!

Maci is hitting such a fun age (4 Months on May 23rd) and she is starting to play with her toys and the world around her!  This weekend we relaxed on Friday and Maci/Mommy fell asleep on the couch at 730p together =)  On Saturday we had our friend Halston's (mommy from mommy and me class) birthday BBQ and it was great to see Maci with so many of her little friends again now that everyone is getting so big.  We think Maci is in the 11-12 lb range and finally fits all 3 month clothes!  Today we ran some errands and worked on the yard while Maci just kept playing like she has lately!  We are so blessed to have such a happy, healthy and good spirited baby girl!  Enjoy pics and video from our chica's fun weekend!!

New Hair Do

I finally took a picture of my new hair but then realized it wasnt the best day to do so since it has been thunder storming =) But you can see it is freshly colored and quite a few inches shorter so that it moves a little better and isnt so hot for summer!

Mother's Day!!!

Today was my first Mother's Day!!  Clint and Maci got me the BOB jogging stroller that I have wanted to get back in shape and to use to stroll around the lakes with our little lady!  Maci also got me a cute card and lip balm since I have constant chapped lips from kissing her all over :-)  We started our day by going to church where Maci was wide awake but as usual super well behaved.  We then went to brunch at the Egg and I where Maci slept the whole time so we could eat!  After playing around the house a bit, we decided to enjoy the sunny day by checking out the outdoor outlet mall in Albertville.  Maci was a great lil shopper in her umbrella stroller from Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Dustin!  I made Clint take a few pics of me and my shopping pal =) 

I also hope to post soon my new hairdo.  I decided to get it shopped to my collar bone after several years of having it very long.  It welcomes a new era - my 30s and motherhood.  However, you cant really see it in these pics so more to come soon!

My 30th Birthday Derby Surprise!

Last night Clint told me we were going over our friend Trip and Lori's house to watch the derby since I wasn't going to be able to make it to KY to celebrate my big 30!  I was looking forward to seeing them and bringing lil Maci to hang out =)  Once we got there, I thought things seemed a little quiet but then when I got inside I saw friends that had pulled a nice surprise for me!!  My best friend Christie and my work husband Jim both came into MN just for my birthday!!!  We had so much fun watching the derby, eating pulled pork sandwiches and drinking mint juleps!!  I didn't win on the horse bet but it was so much fun!!!  We even had the Cold Stone Creamery cake that I had mentioned to Clint months ago.  Even though my real 30th isn't until Tuesday, this sure made my 30th start off on a GREAT foot!!!

Today, we went to brunch at Cafeteria in uptown with Trip, Lori, Jim, Christie, Clint, Maci and I - so fun and yummy!  Christie, Clint and I then walked around uptown for a bit before coming home for a quick nap.  Tonight we are celebrating Cinco De Mayo by eating at Rojo and drinking margaritas =)  This was such a fun surprise to have friends from out of town to celebrate this nice weekend with!!

This will be another busy work week but I cant wait to see what Clint has in store for my official 30 on Tuesday :-)
