Week 2 with Rosie Red & Getting Ready for Spring Break!

Weekdays

  • Busy week for me as a lot of people were getting ready to be on PTO this coming week due to spring breaks etc
  • Maci had her 2nd week of track and field on Tuesday night
Track and Field Practice

Rainy scavenger hunt at School on Tues

Awesome Temps by Thursday
Connor and his buddy Chuck on the teeter totter
The Pre-K crew on recess

Friday :
  • Clint and I both worked from home and headed to get the kids for gymnastics around 5p
  • Both kids did great in their classes and we grabbed an Arby's dinner on the way home
Saturday
  • Rainy Saturday all day long!
  • No soccer but everyone seemed to wake up at the same time anyway URGH!
  • We got a lot of our weekend to dos rocking and rolling with a response to the interior designer first on our list followed by grocery ordering, Connor haircut etc
  • After doing a lot of to dos around the house, I finally crashed for a nap on the couch while watching NCAA sweet 16
  • We all headed to Sunshine Factory for dinner at 6p and Maci won $20 for eating a cherry tomato, something her father could never do
  • We came home and instead of going to a neighborhood fire, we enjoyed some more basketball and a normal bed time
Sunday
  • Sunshine and warmer temps - in the 50s!
  • I met my former coworkers Nikki and Jill for a walk around Lake Normandale in Minneapolis
  • I got home a little before lunch and started back on the weekend to do list
  • Boomer got a bath and Clint changed out the hot tub water, a 2x a year tradition
  • We are going to take a family walk to the park a little later and then wrap up a nice lil weekend
Closest I have seen these 2 near each other to date ❤️💕
Cutie Rosie eating her food and paying no attention to me
This is a short week for our crew!  The kids start their spring break on Thursday and Clint and I are going to take the end of this week off as well.  Clint is also going to take his birthday off on Wednesday so he only has a 2 day work week.  I am looking forward to the two days off as well as a quieter week with many co-workers out for their spring break.  Rosie starts her puppy bootcamp not this week but next so we are also getting our schedule tightened up so we can be ready to go!

We hope you are having a great spring so far, so excited to see warm temps and sunshine in the forecast!  Clint also got his first COVID shot and I have my first this coming week as well - things are starting to feel a bit more like normal ❤️

Lots of Love,

Week 1 with Rosie Red & NCAA Basketball

Sunday Afternoon Puppy Fun
Monday :
  • Signed the kids up for their after school program for next year - crazy to see Connor as K and Maci as a 3rd grader!!
  • We got some crazy 1-3 inches of snow but thankfully it would be gone later in the week thanks to good temps and sun.
  • Rosie had another rough night on Sunday night but the snuggle puppy arrived today and a lot of people told us to move the crate to our room so she doesn't feel all alone.  Guess, what - slept through the night!!!!
My new office mate - she took a nap in my lap while I was working (pick 2)
After school snow fun with the puppy!
Tuesday :
  • I went into the office today and Clint was at home
  • I grabbed Panda Express, Greenwood Elementary fund raiser, on the way home
  • Clint and Maci then went to Maci's first night of indoor track and field - she loved it!
We started letting Maci go to bed with Rosie
She knows we move her from her bed to the crate after she falls asleep
Wednesday :
  • Happy St Patrick's Day!
  • I went into the office again today and ended up just having a super sucky day with a lot of things just getting stuck in the mud.  I came home late and was ready to wash off the day and start a new the next day.  Here is to Clint for being the super parent given my day was so long!
Thursday :
  • Both Clint and I were working from home and it was a new day, much better than the one before!
  • Gorgeous day, I picked up the kids as Clint was taking Rosie to the vet at 5p for her within 2 weeks of getting from the breeder check - our vet was in love with her, said she has an amazing demeanor and can't wait to see her again in 4 weeks for next round of shots etc
  • We skipped hot tub/hang out party as the Harty's just got home from a trip on Wed and were pretty tired so I got to get to bed at a good time, much needed
Friday :
  • Busy day with a few long meetings/trainings
  • Nice to call it quits when it was time for Clint and I to go get the kids and head to gymnastics!
  • We talked with the center about putting Maci in more competitive classes next year but not committing to full fledge team competition
  • Grabbed some Taco Bell before heading home, playing with dogs and enjoying the warm weather outside - baseball practice with Connor and a somewhat walk with the dogs (all walks with Rosie right now are somewhat hah)
They sure love each other
Our Models
School Pics - PreK and 2nd Grade
Saturday :
  • Maci had her last winter indoor soccer lesson, no more 8a sessions!!!  Outdoor spring soccer starts in May for her!
  • I had a 10a massage, amazing!
  • Got home and we were all enjoying the 60 degree weather and sunshine, Clint washed the cars and I got a lot done around the house
  • I finally took a late nap so I could hang come night time
  • We had some papa Murphys for dinner and then hosted the neighbors in our basement - while it was warm, it was too windy for a fire
  • We all called it around midnight
This one LOVES Slippers
Sunday :
  • Slept in until about 9a - AMAZING!
  • Got going on laundry wrap up, coffee and some Face the Nation to start the day.
  • We have another warm day here but not near as sunny and still windy.
  • Guys were going to take down the ice rink but the wind is so nutty that they decided they will try to do a little after work each night throughout the week and finish next weekend.
  • Due to that decision, Clint is excited to spend the rest of the day on the couch with me watching NCAA basketball - my bracket is totally busted but Clint is currently in 1st place.
  • I will do a little work prep on the couch later today but maybe after one of those wonderful Sunday couch naps in front of the TV :)
Sooo people keep asking how Boomer is doing with Rosie
He tolerates her, refuses to play with her, when she jumps on him and tries to play he growls and gives us a "what the hell is this thing" look - we are hopeful he goes from tolerating her to being a buddy, time will tell!
Boomer how are you not in love with this lady?!
We are excited to have NO more snow in the extended forecast which makes us think we can put away snow gear shortly!  However, we have a decent amount of rain and cloudy days coming up which is no bueno but at least not freezing temps, come on spring!

We hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the March madness fun!
Lots of Love,

Rosie Red Mondell Joins Our Home!

Monday

  • Long day back post a good weekend for all of us but I wrapped the day with a nice long walk with Tena - such great weather!!
Tuesday
  • I went into the office today
  • Our kids enjoyed the amazing weather at school and at home after their day wrapped
Wednesday
  • A super long day at the office for me with not getting home until about 800p BUT I got to catch up with a former co-worker on the drive home and we got a more recent picture of Diamond (about to be Rosie) so all in all a great day!
Thursday
  • Tena's Birthday!
  • We had full days with both of us at home but we had a break in our morning with Jane Marie, interior designer, popping by to give us some recommendations for some decorating touches on the house (kitchen back plash, living room furniture layout, lighting fixtures, carpet etc).  We look forward to seeing what she thinks!
  • I got some late night work prep wrapped and then Clint and I headed over to the Harty's to share a cocktail with Tena and Nate for her birthday, they are heading to FL the next day for a long weekend with some friends
Friday
  • Normal work day followed by gymnastics with the kiddos
  • We then ate at Sunshine Factory before coming home to cleaning some stuff up around the house and my email inbox.
  • Completed All American Season 2
Saturday
  • Up for Maci's soccer at 7a and while Clint took her I got some clean up done around the house and for work
  • They brought home bagels for breakfast and we continued to do house chores, plan meals, order groceries etc
  • We had a busy morning b/c we knew once we did the Puppy Drop that the rest of the day would be all about Rosie!
  • Around 1230p we left the house to get lunch at Countryside Cafe and the kids still had zero clue about what the surprise was, so many guesses but not on the money!
  • We then drove to Cabela's and pulled to the pet exercise area in the back and saw all the puppies playing in a grassy area 💖
  • Clint video taped me and the kids on our walk up - Connor was lost and Maci was slowly registering that these are puppies but took a while to realize we were getting one!!
  • Rosie was playing with a sister puppy and we happily grabbed her and let the kids play with her while I got paperwork etc.  Within 10 mins, we were off in the car taking her home.  She did great on the ride and then we played outside for almost an hour.
  • She LOVES to chase the kids up and down the hill in the back, so cute!  She follows Maci everywhere, does not love a leash yet but really loves exploring our big yard!
  • We took a family walk to the neighborhood park with me carrying her at points - she is currently 8.3 lbs.  Maci wouldn't play on the playground, she wanted to sit with Rosie, walk Rosie, show her to her friends at the playground etc.  She is head over heels!  Also a gorgeous day to get a puppy with sunshine and almost 60 degrees!
  • At 6p Kaitlin came as we had a pre-planned date night
  • She was awesome with the kids and dogs, Boomer is totally ignoring Rosie and the only time she has barked is when she wants Boomer to play with her and he just stares at her. HA
  • We got home and then started the really long night!  Poor Rosie will be crate trained and this was her first night away from mom and siblings + Boomer didn't want to go anywhere near her crate when she whined.  We let her go on and off from about 11:30p to 1:15a.  Clint then got up and let her out which helped but then back to whining.  So Clint got up and came down to lie by the crate and humm to her.  This worked and she then slept from about 2a to 6a.  We also lost an hour of sleep so we are all zombies walking here today!
Clueless Saturday Morning
So Excited
Car Ride
So Much Fun Outside at Home
Both Kids Love her but Maci is clearly her Person
Sunday
  • Maci and Connor woke up at 6a (not like them and that is usually 5a so they will be exhausted tonight!) They right away took on carrying for her so Clint and I laid in bed until about 8a (usually 7a ugh!). She is the calmest sweetest dog when not in the kennel and even in the kennel she just cries :(
  • Clint ran to get donuts at Cub for Cael's 12th birthday since Tena/Nate are out of town and when he was back we were all chugging coffee.
  • We had several rounds of playing outside, only 1 pee accident so far when she was with the kids this morning.
  • She then napped with Clint in the basement and me on the couch.
  • We are about to take a walk to the park again soon and then I need to do some work prep.
  • We have a yummy dinner planned at home tonight, early bed times for the kids and lazy couch time for Clint/me and Rosie so she is ready for her crate and some different strategies for more rest tonight.
Sunday Morning Snuggles
We can't wait for all of you to meet this sweet thang and we look forward to Boomer warming up to the idea of running and playing vs staring at her HAHA 😜

Lots of Love,

  • After I got home, we took a walk to the park with our kids and Tyce

Sunday :
  • Got up and took a walk with Clint as we are having 50 degree weather - almost hit 60 today!
  • Got jumping on all the household to dos since I was a titch lazy yesterday
  • Clint took down the Christmas lights outside while the kids played.
  • I got things done inside and then took a nice 3 mile walk with Tena
  • We finished doing things around the house, did some work prep for the week and now I am wrapping the blog and about to help with bath time!
We are so excited for Spring and these next few 60+ days are such a needed tease after mainly being home all winter long!  We have another busy week ahead but love how we accomplish all the things as a team!

We hope you also are seeing signs of spring and look forward to sunny/warmer days soon!
Lots of Love,
