COVID 2nd Shot + Connor's Freezing Flag Football Game

Weekdays :

  • Monday - Big prep day at work and long day
  • Tuesday - Big announcement day for work and the verdict announced in Minneapolis in the Chauvin case, big day all around!  Maci and Clint headed to her 1st Communion prep meeting with Father at church while Connor and I hung out at home
  • Wednesday - I drank a bit too much wine while cleaning up work and Clint had the boys over for golden tee - fun but too late of an evening
  • Thursday - We were both super tired but at least the week is almost over.  After work, I ran to Mall of America for my 2nd COVID shot and then chatted with my mom on my way home while I grabbed my dinner.  Clint was super dad with the kiddos at home for dinner solo.  We were both so tired from the night before that we cancelled hot tub Thursday
This cutie wanted to copy her momma and have some blue light glasses for school
Found her a 2 pack on Amazon for $15 - light pink frame and a leopard frame too

Weekend :
  • Friday - Clint had the day off again and met with a contractor and our interior designer for some of the house stuff we are doing.  He then ran out to get us a late lunch while I wrapped my work day before we both headed to take the kiddos to gymnastics.  After gymnastics, we stopped by Michael's to get Maci more yarn since she has been blowing through it.  We got some noodles and I crashed!
  • Saturday - We woke up, did some stuff around the house and then I was off to my massage, so needed post this week at work and my vaccine.  It was such a lovely experience that I then came home and napped between 2-3 hours.  It must have been one of those days as Connor also curled up in bed and napped half the day.  We did some things around the house/outside before heading off to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, yum!  The kids ate great and we had a nice dinner together!  Afterward, we came home, got them ready for bed before heading to the Herness' house for our weekly bonfire fun.  Almost all of the usuals were there with only 1 missing due to Hockey.
  • Sunday - After a 100% lazy day, we had a lot to get done today and got rolling on it right away.  We did stuff all over the house in the morning before we had to load up for Connor's flag football practice/game.  We left the house a little before 2p and got home a little after 4p.  It was SO FLIPPING COLD.  It is mid 40s but some rain and gray skies.  Connor got tackled (it is not tackle) during the practice which turned to tears and him saying he didn't want to do it b/c he was going to get hurt (he seems to get up in his head at times).  To top it off we were all freezing but he stood on the sideline with me during the game for the first few plays, saw no one was getting hurt and eventually ran in when they said it was his turn.  He snapped the ball well, ran with it a time or two and chased down several running backs when on D.  I took 0 pics b/c we were all attempting to keep our hands warm and dry, ugh!  He ended the day with a Huge Smile on his face and said he had fun, while we all froze!  We talked about how proud we were of him for giving it another try and he said so loud in the car "I AM PROUD OF MYSELF" ❤️  We are hoping next Sunday is the mid 60 degree sunny day that the weather shows so at least he will have one fewer hurdles next week but today we are just so proud of our little guy for getting out of his own way and having some fun with his pals!  We are now getting ready for some taco pizza (his fav) for dinner and then some ice cream to celebrate.

We hope you all had a great week even if this spring weather is a bit more fickle than we may like!

Puppy Graduate and Play Dates!

Weekdays :

  • Week 2 and final week of Rosie's puppy bootcamp
  • Given some unrest in Minneapolis, I didn't go into the office all week but that also worked ok as we are really busy and it saved on drive time etc to get more things done
  • Maci had her final track and field on Tuesday - she got to play capture the flag
  • I picked up Maci's supplies for 1st communion virtual retreat on Thurs night

Friday :
  • Clint had the day off again
  • Rosie graduated from puppy class!
  • I took the kids to gymnastics while Clint graduated with Rosie
  • We came home and enjoyed some taco pizza outside before playing with neighbors and calling it a night
Graduate and Olivia her Coach

Saturday :
  • Rosie had a vet apt with Clint at 1030a and while he was gone I got errands done around the house and online
  • At 1p we moved on outside for a somewhat nice day with 57 degrees and greeted both kids playdate friends : Louie from pre-K and the neighborhood came for Connor and this is Connor's first official planned play date (I blame 2nd kid and a pandemic) and Harper from school/neighborhood came over for Maci.  The kids played so well!!!  Connor and Louie road Connor's game bike, played on the neighbors swing set and had a snack.  Maci and Harper road bikes and then played Barbies/Dolls in Maci's room until snack time.  Both kids went home at 4p and we are excited to do it again soon!
  • We all rested a bit and then Clint and I got ready for date night!  We checked out a new to us restaurant in St Michael (very tasty) but then had one drink at Stanchion's before decided our home sounded more fun and relieved our sitter Liz at 915p.
Post Vet Hugs!

Golfing with Nash - so cute

Sneaking in on Connor and Louie
Sunday :
  • Early rising morning, we were all up and around before 8a but now I am feeling it.
  • We did some stuff outside and around the house before getting Connor ready for his first flag football session.
  • Clint took him to flag football wile Maci and I hit up Michael's for some supplies to complete her 1st communion retreat/create her pew hanger
  • Maci and I wrapped up our 1st communion needs before the boys were home with lunch.  Maci also got me to get her some extra yarn at Michaels and she showed me how she finger knits which she learned at the spring break camp - so cool!  Check out her picture :)
  • Now we are about to head to the local playground to meet another one of Connor's friends for some playing and Maci will bring her finger knitting to keep me company.  I am excited to spend some more time outside in the sun and 60 degrees.  Clint is going to be at home doing the usual spring yard work which he really enjoys.

Cutie on a Sunday Morning

He had a blast!  A friend from pre-k and the neighborhood ended up being on his team!

Finger Knitting!

I need to do some work prep shortly as we have a really busy week ahead but for now I am caffeinating!
We hope you had a great spring weekend as well and a wonderful week ahead!

Spring Break 2021

Easter Sunday Ended with a Competitive Game of Old Maid
Monday :

  • Rosie started week 1 of puppy bootcamp
  • The kids are on spring break but since we were lame this year and hung close to home, they were off to Wayzata Kids camp for the week
  • It was a super warm (85 degree day) here in Minneapolis so I worked from the deck most of the day, LOVELY!
  • Maci came home and complained of being hot and a headache which isn't like her but figured it was the heat
Pics from our trainer Olivia
Tuesday :
  • Maci had her throat hurt but wanted to give camp a run
  • I headed into the downtown office but around 11a got a call from camp that she had no fever but was complaining about her throat and so she could stay if she wanted or we could get her - I talked to her on the phone and she made the call to come home and hang with daddy
  • We skipped her Track and Field lesson to let her rest up - seems like allergies though
Wednesday :
  • Everyone was back to their respective places and Maci is taking some allergy meds
  • At night we thought Maci had her monthly religion class but when they got to the church the doors were locked so I must have gotten some wire crossed there
  • Home they came and Clint did his golden tee night with the guys
Thursday :
  • Nothing out of the ordinary
  • Both Clint and I were tired so we didn't do hot tub night and instead got to bed at a good time
Friday :
  • Productive day at home for me
  • Final day of camp and puppy bootcamp for the week
  • No Gymnastics b/c of the Spring break week
  • Our family went to Sunshine Factory for a Good Friday night dinner at 630p
  • Then we got home and we all crashed
Saturday :
  • Super lazy Saturday with the Masters on in the background all day long
  • We had a fire with the neighbors and all sampled the High Moon flavors - yum
Connor makes us laugh - he is in there somewhere
Sunday :
  • Our crew is all still a bit tired - watching the Masters and sitting in cozy gear
  • I need to do some work prep but may take a nap first
  • It's nice to have a weekend with no plans and indoors after a gorgeous fun filled weekend the one before
They are getting more and more ok with each other, especially during down time
We are all back to our normal school and work routines this week and Rosie's final puppy bootcamp week.  She is already rocking the sit, down, waiting at her crate and walking on a leash - excited to see what this week holds.

Lots of Love,

Happy Birthday Clint, Happy Mini Spring Break & Happy Easter!!!

I mean for real ❤️💕❤️💕
Monday :
  • A lot of people were on PTO this week for spring break so I was able to get caught up on some work which was nice
  • It was a super nice warm 70 degree day but also super windy which made it hard to enjoy the temps outside
  • After dinner I had a happy hour/catch up chat with Lindsay
My Officemate - Making Clint snap a pic for an upcoming work all hands video
Tuesday :
  • Maci had Track and Field at night and continues to enjoy the class and time with Clint
Buddies if/when they are both chilling & Rosie is typically Clint's officemate
Wednesday :
  • Happy Birthday Clint!  He took the day off to fully enjoy it : had Peg's countryside for breakfast, watched the new Godzilla movie, took a nap, ate Chipotle for lunch, worked out, took Rosie to the vet for more shots, picked up the kids and got ready for dinner!
  • After I finished my last call for the day, we welcomed Liz our sitter and then headed out for a sunny dinner and then swung by Innkahoots for the first time forever on our way home for drinks and darts.  A truly fun birthday for sure!
The Birthday Boy
Thursday :
  • Happy Mini Spring Break!  Maci and Connor's spring break started today and Clint and I took today and Friday off to enjoy some down time with them even though we aren't going anywhere this year.
  • We started the day with Connor's spring conferences and Miss Mindy said he is a good friend, is ready for Kindergarten and gets hurt a lot - Yep, sounds bout right!
  • I hoped on one call for work and thankfully it ended early ;)  Then a few of us took some naps, had a lazy day around the house and just enjoyed having no where to be or calls to hop on.  Oh and we did our annual dying of Eggs!
Dyed Eggs, Connor could careless at this point
Hot Tub Party - Maci is doing non stop gymnastics and this proof!
Friday :
  • Another off day!  After some random to dos around the house and some calls we headed to Mall of America for my 1st COVID shot, Clint got his first the week prior!
  • The kids sure lucked out by going to the mall as their parents may have felt bad about not knowing to schedule some ride times so we had to just watch the rides run but not go on them ourselves.  Instead, we had lunch, went to Disney store, Lego Store, Claires + Hat Store, Crayola shop.  They got a few little treats here and there - I got a super quick shot and by 230p we were on our way back home.
  • I took a quick work call to land some things before the weekend and then we were off to Gymnastics.  The kids really are great at tumbling!
Mall Fun
Saturday :
  • GORG DAY!!!  70 and Full Sun!!! ☀️
  • I spent the morning getting stuff done around the house (grocery order, laundry etc) and setting up patio furniture with Clint.  Clint had his monthly massage in the morning was home for some lunch and then back out for 9 holes of golf - first time out this year!
  • While Clint golfed, I read a good book on my kindle with chilled wine on the chaise on the deck in the sun - may be a top 5 afternoon!  The kids both chilled doing their own thing and I had a few hours of uninterrupted quiet me time in the sun!
  • Once Clint was home we were off to dinner at our fav River Inn - kids enjoyed root beer bottles, Clint loved up on his full slack of ribs and I enjoyed my shrimp but maybe even more so the company + eating on a patio for the first time since at least Sept.
  • Clint and I crashed after the Gonzaga crazy buzzer beater by the current pride of Minneapolis - Freshman Jalen Suggs

Sunday :
  • Whelp that crazy bunny came to our house!  The baskets weren't hidden very well but they were overflowing with some cool surprises.  The eggs were also not a super hard challenge to find but lots of giggles ensued as we searched in jammies.
  • Another GORGEOUS day on docket here meant Clint and I enjoyed our first coffee of the season on the deck and the kids brought out various little toys/trinkets to ask for help in setting them up/opening.
  • Around 9a we had to start getting ready for brunch at Maynard's on Lake Minnetonka - we actually got nicely dressed up.  Once home, we watched mass on the TV given reservations were needed and one more year of "oddness" won't hurt our bunch.
  • Now we are enjoying an Easter afternoon outside - Clint is doing some yard clean up, Maci and Connor were trying out their skateboards and I am getting a few things done before I once again lay on the chaise and read a new book, finished my other one last night!
  • We will wrap our evening with some work prep + family prep for the week : Rosie starts week 1 of puppy bootcamp tomorrow and Maci/Connor head to Wayzata Kids' spring break camp tomorrow as well which means they need home packed lunches all week, my fav NOT 🤪
Basket Fun

She has been scared to join him as she doesn't love the stairs
