Memorial Day Weekend!!!

Weekdays:

  • Monday - Gorgeous day!  I had a work happy hour for the entire Optum HR team.  It was a quick visit as I was then off to meet Clint and the kids at Maci's soccer game.  They had a fabulous 5-0 W against the Fusion Navy 1 team - go girls!
  • Tuesday - Maci had girls on the run after school and then soccer practice in the evening.
  • Wednesday - Another warm day but so much driving!  I left work with what I thought was enough time to get Maci, pick up her teammate Taylor and make it all the way out to Lakeville.  Well I was wrong and not only did we miss the warm up but we got there 5 mins after kickoff.  Thankfully the girls were ready to roll and Maci scored the 1st goal!  It was a beauty to the back top left corner of the net with her left foot!  They ended up winning 3-0 - GO GIRLS!  Maci and I ate with Lucy, Reagan and Taylor's families at Cowboy Jacks while Clint and Connor went to his baseball practice.  Connor was so excited to tell me about his double out (hah double play) with his buddy Chuck at practice.
This girl sure loves life!

Soccer Team Fun

17 Years of Dating and Lots of Sports!

Weekdays:

  • Monday - Clint got the Volvo to maintenance and we got some new front brakes.  I had lunch with a mentor at work and then ended the day with a Happy Hour with my peers at Jimmy's.  Maci then had a Soccer game at 715p in Edina.  They played great and won 6-1 - Maci had an insane cross for the assist and then finished the game with 2 goals of her own!  We swung by Honey & Mackie's for ice cream on the way home!
  • Tuesday - Maci had girls on the run after school and then soccer practice at 630p.

  • Wednesday - Maci had a soccer game at 7p and Connor had baseball practice at the same time.  I went with Maci and cheered her team on to a great 4-2 W against their arch rivals from 'Tonka!  Connor also had a great practice where Clint said he had a killer hit!
  • Thursday - Clint and I both worked from home and the air was so smokey all day.  There are wild fires in Canada which caused our air quality to be less than ideal.  As a result Maci's soccer practice was cancelled given MN dept of Health declared MN air quality to be unhealthy.  I ended up having a few high noons and TV before bed.
Stud!
Friday:
  • I worked from home and Clint went into the office.
  • It was a busy morning with various meetings and fires popping up with work.
  • Finally I enjoyed some lunch and got work done throughout the afternoon.
  • Kids got off the bus and hung out
  • Clint brought home pizzas and salad
  • We took a walk with the dogs while the kids hung out at home
  • To wrap the night, I watched my random tv while Maci/Clint caught up on their Stranger Things show.
She's so pretty and doesn't even know it!

Goof balls
Saturday:
  • Started the day bright and early for Maci's practice 5k
  • She crushed it per usual while Clint, Connor and I walked a few laps and then cheered her on at the end
  • Once we headed out of the high school, we were off to Peg's for some breakfast outside - such a pretty morning!
  • We came home and laid around a bit until it was time for Connor to head to Golf with Clint at 1230p
  • Clint brought home lunch and then we got lazy again - Clint watched the PGA tournament, I watched tv/napped and the kids hung out.
  • Clint and I went out for dinner and drinks to celebrate 17 years of dating!  The kids got to hang with Kaitlin while Clint and I enjoyed COV drinks/food and Maynard's drinks all located on Lake Minnetonka.

Sunday:
  • Clint and I started the day with a walk and coffee
  • We then both got around on our house hold to dos
  • Clint and Connor headed off to Flag Football practice at 12p.
  • Maci and I put away groceries, showered and got ready for the game.
  • We made it just in time for kickoff of the game at 1p
  • Connor had a touchdown from one end of the field to the other - sweet!
  • They won another game and then we went to Rojo with his pal Brook's and his family for a late lunch as we both had football and then baseball on the same teams
  • We then quickly popped at home for Connor to change before heading to his 4p baseball game.
  • Connor had a great hit and made us laugh with his hatred of playing one inning in the right outfield
  • We got home and finished laundry, are eating a late dinner due to a late lunch and getting ready for the week ahead
Dang we love this time of year and are excited for another week of sunshine, warmer temps and sports!

Mother's Day & Lots of Sports!

Weekdays:

  • Monday - Clint had the day off as he has PTO to burn between now and Cargill's year end, May 31. He had some real fun stuff to do like the Dentist :)  Maci was supposed to have Gymnastics in the evening but her wrist was bothering her from a fall during the weekend soccer tournament so we skipped that.
  • Tuesday - Clint ran Maci to an orthodontist apt in the morning, next time we go in June she will be getting them off!!  Round 2 will occur some time in Middle School.  Maci also had her girls on the run after school.  Meanwhile, the painters came to finally touch up the big front window that was originally installed upside down almost 1 year ago.  We are FINALLY done with this contractor some 3 years later with all windows finally installed, trim painted etc.  We wrapped the day with a Maci soccer practice.
Braces - Not much Longer!
  • Wednesday - Connor had baseball practice with Clint and while they did that Maci and I took a solo walk which was really nice to have the 1:1 time.  She told me all sorts of interesting school stories :)
Mom & Daughter Walk!
  • Thursday - Clint and I both worked from home.  Maci had girls on the run after school.  Clint picked up the kids and ran Maci to soccer practice while I met my friend Amber at Rush Creek Golf Course for dinner and drinks.
Friday:
  • Started the day with my first mammogram at 8a - fortunately all results were normal
  • I worked from the deck for a part of the day until the rain rolled in - I sure do love being outdoors!
  • The kids got home from the bus and Clint showed up around 430p so we could get ready for the annual school carnival!
  • Thankfully the rain held off in the evening but it was not near as nice as the year prior.  That didnt seem to matter to the kids.  Clint and I mainly stood around talking to Tena or Brad (Soccer dad).  While we did this, Maci ran all over with her pal Livi and other 4th grade pals.  Connor was mainly with Nash and his 1st grade dudes.  Connor was like the mayor, often waving and saying "hey Louie" OR "nice seeing you Saraj" That kid is mister social :)
  • We got home a little after 8 and I laid down with my mom shows while Maci and Clint kept watching Stranger Things together.
Connor's Fav Part of Carnival

Saturday:
  • We had a super productive morning of household to dos including setting up Maci's Christmas present soccer goal outside - kids loved it!
  • At 1230p Connor was off to his golf lesson but no sooner did they get there it started to rain and they called it, added a day on to the end of the season.
  • Clint then ran Connor to Suraj's 7th birthday at a putt putt course at 2p.  Thankfully the rain held off during this party and Connor had a blast.
  • We did more around the house and then it was time for our date night with the Cassem's and Fike's.  We used our summer nanny Steph so they could have 1:1 time with her before summer.  The adults enjoyed cocktails and then headed to Park Tavern for dinner and bowling.  It was a crazy night of bowling!  We first did couples vs other couples - Clint and I won but not because of Clint's bowling.  I almost had a turkey and was hitting spares all over - I bowled a 158 and have never bowled this high!  Then we did girls vs boys and I don't know what was wrong with them - they had so many excuses from the lights to the balls etc.  The girls WON!  I bowled a turkey!!!  Jacey had many spares and Gena kept up with a consistent few pins every frame :)

Sunday :
  • Happy Mother's Day!!!
  • I enjoyed sweet flowers and cards from my kids!  Connor made me a book about mom and Maci made me the cutest keychain with her hand writing on it.  We had coffee and took a slow start to the morning.  The kids and I built their summer bucket list.
  • We then headed to River Inn for brunch which was so yummy!!!  We picked up our potted flowers and hanging basket on the way home
  • I took a brief nap while the rest of the family potted the new flowers!
  • Connor and Clint headed to flag football practice.  When I got up, I got groceries ordered and then Maci and I were off to football in time for the game.  Connor had a great run, wonderful defensive flag pull and the best was his interception for a TD.  Such a little football stud.
  • Headed home and got some stuff done around the house and Clint ran Maci to her soccer practice.
  • While gone, Grady and Anders came over to play soccer with Connor and Nash.
  • They played up until 5p when Connor had to get ready for baseball
  • His game started at 530p and Clint/Maci showed up around 550 after her practice ended at 545p at the nearby high school.  Connor had some good hits and a few field plays.
  • After the game, Connor headed home with me to finish laundry while Maci and Clint ran to pick up dinner.
  • We ate on the deck, the kids played some more soccer and golf before it was time for showers and bed!
