State Fair & More Birthday Parties!!

Weekdays:

  • Monday - Maci wrapped up her slumber party with Violet and Grace picked her up late morning.  I had more juggling of both jobs.  We then had a quiet event free evening b/c football got delayed a week.
  • Tuesday - Maci had day 1 of Soccer Olympics where she had a lot of fun with her buddy Charley and other soccer pals. At night, I had a happy hour with a colleague, Jillian but then headed to Hopkins high school to pick up Maci from her first night of TFE practice.
  • Wednesday - Clint went golfing with our neighbor Ben in the morning.  I had my last offsite leadership meeting with Tech.  Maci had day 2 of soccer Olympics.  Maci had another night of practice and I hung in the area checking out many of our old stomping grounds since she is practicing near our old house.  While I was dealing with her at Soccer, Clint went over to the Jonas’ house for a guys night.
  • Thursday - Maci had a super busy day!  She had her final summer gymnastics in the morning.  Then she had the final day of Soccer Olympics.  After that, I hustled home so we could go to her Locker Move In and School Pictures.  We had a few stressful moments with trying to open the locker but once we asked Clint and Connor to leave, Maci and I got it all figured out and casually walked her schedule.  Connor and Clint were off to Connor’s first fall kid pitch baseball practice.  Once Maci and I wrapped, we were off to her practice where I dropped her and then met up with the parents for a social get together during the practice.  They were taking forever to get our bills so one of the Tonka parents kindly brought Maci to the restaurant which was good “out of comfort zone” moment for Maci.  Woah what a long day!
Pretty Girl - Ready for her Pictures
Friday :
  • Very productive day for Clint and I at home
  • I napped late in the day as I was exhausted from the week!
  • That night, Clint went to the Twins game with Adam Webb and a few other buddies.  They had rock star seats and went to the local bars afterward.  They won big 2x on pull tabs and each guy came home with $300 - wahoo!
  • While he was out partying it up, I was watching girlie tv, going to bed early and auto drafting in our FFF Draft.
Saturday :
  • Annual MN Fair Day!  It was a hot one but we had a blast.  We ate so much, enjoyed many games, kids rode crazy rides and did the haunted house (Connor was NOT a fan).  I sure do love this MN tradition!  I did not love going on a Saturday but due to Maci’s Chicago Soccer Tourney, we couldn’t go on our usual day.
  • We got home around 630p - we all took showers to get all the sweat and dirt off.  I then laid on the couch to watch some football with Clint and was out by 7p. HA
All the Fun of the Fair

Sunday:
  • Maci was supposed to have a morning soccer scrimmage but it got cancelled due to the other team not having enough players.
  • Maci then was off to Quinn Sampson’s house around 1130a for her 11th birthday party at Valley Fair followed by a slumber party!!!
  • I met up with my gal pals Nicole and Kristen for some day time drinks by the lake - dang it was muggy out!
  • I then hustled home to have pulled pork at our house with Trip and Lori Brubacher.  We hadn’t seen these dear friends in forever!  It was so great to catch up even if they didn’t get a chance to say Hi to Maci due to her party.
Party Time!

Now heading into the unofficial final week of “summer” with lots of lasts and our final week with nanny Grace and potentially our last year with a nanny!

We hope you are having a wonderful wrap to the sweet summer time!!!

Juggling Two Jobs, End of Summer Fun & Corcoran Country Concert!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - Vi and Maci were still asleep when I left into work.  I had a busy day with some org changes/announcements for my current role while also starting to get pulled into calls for my future gig.  It was a good day of juggling and getting situated.  While I was at the office, Clint had an electrician come hang our new skylight calendar which is already organizing our lives so amazingly!  In the evening, Clint, Maci and I joined a virtual TFE soccer parent/kid meeting with their new coach, Julian.  This is going to be a transition but exciting one for our killer midfielder!
  • Tuesday - Maci went over to her pal from Fusion soccer, Taylor’s house and then did some swimming at LifeTime Fitness.  That evening, Clint went to pick her up and played Bourbon with her dad, Paul.  By the time Maci got home, she looked like she hadn’t slept in days - slumber parties and long days swimming will do that HA.
  • Wednesday - I had a busy day at work with an entire morning talent session for Tech but dang if we didn’t crush it!  Probably the best one ever and so fortunate for that to be the last one I will do with his group - bittersweet!  Maci had soccer training in the afternoon.  Then we had a free evening which means I caught up on emails on the deck - dang just a little busy juggling a few jobs ;-)
Grace is House Sitting
I guess there was a snake YIKES

  • Thursday - Maci had gymnastics in the morning.  Then Lucy, another Fusion pal, came over to play with Maci.  They went shopping at the mall with Connor and Grace.  I guess Connor hated it b/c all the stores the girls wanted to go to were boring - likely.  Clint treated him to some baseball batting cages in the evening to make up for a girlie day.
Friday:
  • Busy Friday of trying to get things done and then the damn internet went down at 830a and was down until after we left to dinner at night!  Lots of curse words said by me and the neighbors who were also working from home and down.  Thankfully I could get some things done with a hot spot.
  • That night we went to dinner at Rock Elm with the Harty’s and Herness’ crew before heading to night 1 of Corcoran Country days.
  • Maci was our sitter, ahhh this is so nice for her to be big enough to manage a few hours solo.
  • We had a blast at the concert and maybe had a bit too much to drink but dang if it wasn’t fun!
  • Best story was when I went to the port o potty and after stepping out quickly realized, wait where is my phone.  It wasn’t in my pocket, purse etc.  So I go right back to my stall waiting for someone to come out.  When she does she is like 16 and talking on my phone.  She says “oh good, I am on your phone with your mom” Oh goodness it is like 11p Central Time so my mom just got called late for her HAHA. I also bet the girl wasn’t thinking she was calling a 71 year old woman in Ohio.  Needless to say my mom thought these kind of calls were done for her 41 year old daughter HAHA. All our friends had a great laugh and went back to jamming at the concert to Dylan Scott!
We loved this rainbow

Night Time Fun

Clint and I had a great time

Saturday :
  • No rest for the weary.  Connor was playing in a 3v3 basketball tournament.  They had game one at 845a.  Unfortunately they lost all 3 and didn’t make it to the championship.  It was close but 1 of the kids didn’t really want to play and Connor kept getting too emotionally annoyed by it all.  We were finally out of there around 11a and headed to Applebees for lunch.
  • After lunch, we came home for naps!!!!  Much needed naps after night one of concerts.
  • Maci’s soccer training was cancelled so that gave us even more rest time.
  • At 5p, we were back at it.  Anya came to watch Connor b/c Maci was off to her pal Isla’s birthday/slumber party.  We ran her over there and then met up with Mike and Kim Kuhn for Mike’s birthday dinner at River Inn.
  • After dinner, we were off to the concert again.  I was doing great until I wasnt.  The fireworks started right before the main act and I felt clammy, had a horrible headache and just wanted to be in bed.  So Clint and I gave up on the main act, came home by 10p and crashed!  Maybe we can make both next year HAHA
Ran into Kay from my team

Sunday:
  • Slow morning on the deck with coffee and thankfully I was feeling great!
  • I had to run and get Maci from Isla’s around 1030a
  • We then ran to the nail salon together for my every 3 week nail fill in and Maci of course cons me into a pedicure for her ;-)
  • We ran home and got Connor all packed for his buddy Chuck’s birthday party at Great Wolf Lodge.  Clint will run to pick him up around 630p since only the family is spending the night.
  • I got all my to dos rocking around the house and then Clint ran Maci to Vi’s house for a sleepover there.  All the sleepovers and birthday parties I tell ya!  Blessed to have kiddos with such great friends but dang if we don’t run around HAHA
  • I’m now getting all my laundry folded, work prepared, about to eat some burnt pork tips that Clint smoked all day YUM!  Maci is going to miss out since she is sleeping away but Connor can enjoy when he gets home with us.
Maci braided my hair while they did my nails

Goofs at Great Wolf Lodge

So much back to school prep starts this week and Miss M gets to move into her Middle School Locker - oh goodness!!!  We are also done with quiet evenings - TFE soccer, flag football and Fall baseball all kick back up - but we love it!

Lots of Love,

Birthday Parties, Lung Cancer Walk & Golf/Fantasy Football Fun!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - Molly & Caymen left early in the morning for the airport.  So grateful for Clint running them for us.  I decided to work from home to get all the household needs done as well as work since we had a fun but go go go weekend.  Thankfully we had no evening plans so early bed time for all.
  • Tuesday - Maci had a soccer training during the day.  Busy evening with Connor having a birthday party for Anders at Top Golf.  Maci went over to her friend Charley’s house to hang for a bit and I had a Happy Hour.  We even missed night to unite at the park in our neighborhood - summer always seems so jam packed!
Goof Balls!
  • Wednesday - Maci had another day time soccer training.  I had a hair appt at 4p and brought home some Chick Fil A for a later dinner since my hair takes until about 7p to cut/color etc - I got a lot of it HA
  • Thursday - Maci had gymnastics in the morning.  My new role was announced more officially so no turning back now HA!  That night, I got some rest while Clint headed to a neighbor guys house for some Bourbon tasting.  We have enjoyed a week or so of minimal kid activities in the evenings.
Friday:
  • A productive day of working from home.
  • I headed to a happy hour around 4p with some former Cargill pals - Sara Idle and Amber Markovich.  It was so nice to enjoy a cooler summer Friday on Rush Creek’s patio and laugh about life!
  • We then had a pretty chill Friday night as a family.
Saturday:
  • Maci and I got up pretty early and did the Lung Cancer 5k in the name of a coworker who is battling stage 4 lung cancer, non smoker :(
  • It was a gorgeous morning for a walk and we had some great company to join us.
  • While we were gone, Clint got a massage and helped watch Fred for the Harty’s who were camping.
  • Then we traded places.  We headed home to watch the US Women’s Gold Medal Match - So great!!!  Clint headed out to golf with some buddies around 1230p.
  • Clint golfed while I got things done around the house and watched all sorts of Olympics coverage.
  • He came home for a bit to say hey to us but then was back off to John’s house for their annual Fantasy Football draft.
Walking for our Gal Anissa

All the Olympic Fun!

Sunday:
  • We had a slow chill Sunday morning with coffee on the deck - my fav!
  • I then got around to running Connor and his buddy Colton to Harrison’s birthday party at a putt putt golf course
  • I got more stuff done around the house and then it was time for Vi to come over for a slumber party with Maci.
  • They were so sweet together and let us sleep even though they were up past midnight doing fascinating makeup lessons - tell me they don’t seriously look injured HA Maybe makeup artist is in Maci’s future.

2nd Football Camp & Molly + Cayman Visit!!!

Weekdays:

  • Monday - Maci is still on a high of making the TFE team.  Connor started day 1 of football camp and yes, it was a scorcher!  The week of football camp is always toasty!  Connor had a great time though and said they put other kids on skates HA!  I had a good first day back at work and a nice talent review with my Optum Health team.  I then met Grace and Connor at a plastic surgeon office.  Connor decided at his last annual well check that he wanted the mole on his nose taken off.  Well Derm thinks a plastic surgeon should to it.  While in the waiting room, Connor says “I think I can wait a while” goodness child.  We had a nice meeting with the Dr and have a plan for when the day comes that he is ready to sit still for it to be cut off.
  • Tuesday - Day 2 of football camp - more heat and fun!  Maci then had an indoor soccer training.  I had the option to go to a picnic in the evening for work but I was trying to get some things done at work and I officially got my offer letter for the new job/promotion :)
  • Wednesday - Connor had an ortho consult for his teeth with Clint in the morning.  Thankfully that is still a little ways off for us.  Then Connor had day 3 of football camp - more fun!  Maci had another indoor soccer training.  Afterward, her and her pal Violet dressed up as “Disgust” and then went to see “Inside Out 2” together.  They crack us up!  I worked on a major org change at work for my current job before I transfer end of the month.  I then had a work dinner at Kona Grill for a development program Mouli and I co-sponsored for our top talent.

  • Thursday - Maci had gymnastics class in the morning.  Connor then had his final day of football camp where they got autographs on a poster but of course my kid made friends with a wide receiver and got him to also sign his arm HAHAHA. I had a super busy day at work but all good.  Then at night, Clint had many of the baseball coaches over for Bourbon drinking.
Friday
  • I had several calls in the morning so Clint kindly picked up Molly and Cayman from the airport around 9a
  • We chatted with them for quite a bit when they made it to our house around 1030a then they took a nap since it was a super early flight.
  • While they napped, we got the rest of our needed work done.
  • Then we all chilled on the couch for Olympics watching, pizza eating and running Connor to and from Anna’s birthday party.
  • Around 9p we finally got our butts moving and headed out to Innkahoots for darts and drinks followed by a night cap at Stanchion.
Molly was annoyed Clint kept winning darts (2 times)
So we had him play left handed, she then won once HA

Saturday:
  • We slept until the start of the Women’s US Soccer game.  Maci went nuts when Trinity Rodman scored in OT and thank goodness we got that W!
  • While we watched the game, Clint made us eggs and goetta
  • Once the game was over we had to get moving as we had a boat rental from 11-3
  • It was such an awesome day to be on a boat.  We drove all over Lake Minnetonka.  We stopped to jump in for a bit, we swam at one of the beachy areas and we pulled up in Wayzata for some Cov to go food for lunch :)
  • We then had a little chill time at the house after the boat and before we headed out to River Inn for a yummy dinner.
  • Once back home, we all laid on the couches and watched Olympics.  Molly and I may have zonked while the guys really watched and eventually went to bed around 1030p.
Boat Fun with Aunt Molly

River Inn Dinner
Sunday:
  • We had debated doing either Valley Fair OR Twins Game but everyone was feeling a bit more of a chill day so we slept in and then ordered donuts.
  • After some Olympics watching, we headed out to take Cayman on a tour of the city.  We went down by the Twins stadium, then to the Vikings Stadium, followed by U of Minnesota campus/arenas and finally over to Minnehaha Falls.
  • Once at the Falls, we got some sandwiches and beers while the kids got some ice cream.  Then we took the 1 mile or so hike down the trail to where the Falls flow into the Mississippi River.
  • We headed back home and changed into our suits and headed over to the Hartys for some afternoon drinks, swimming and then our annual BW3 Chicken Wing dinner.
  • We played some lightning at the basketball hoop and then around 8p called it and headed inside to relax.
  • We didn’t stay up late b/c back to work and an early flight home time for them the next day.
Minnehaha Falls

Some fun with photo hunt
We are so grateful for the time with Molly and Cayman - so dang fun!  Now onward to the final weeks of summer!
