Bengals Win, MEA Fall Break & Kansas City Soccer Road Trip!

4th Grade Pics
Weekdays:
  • Monday - My boss was back from India/Philippines so lots of catching up and getting in the swing of things. Only sports in the evening was Maci development training with the forwards and Clint was kind enough to run her given it was 745-845p.
  • Tuesday - Last day of school for the kids thanks to fall break. Busy evening for me as I ran from Connor’s conference at school (such a smart, kind boy that could put in a titch more effort) to the house to hop on Maci’s virtual conference with her advisor (she is organized, super kind, responsible and cares about doing well). While I was doing this, Connor and Clint had Connor’s team’s first basketball practice for the season. Maci was supposed to then have practice BUT it was COLD and RAINY so our coach changed it to a virtual film study from 830-930p
  • Wednesday - Kids had no school so easy/lazy day for them. Rosie had a grooming and I had a jam packed day of meetings since I was going to be out the rest of the week. At night, Connor had Baseball Training at Brower with Clint. I took Maci to her practice and killed the time by grabbing a solo dinner at the Mexican restaurant nearby. I got food, cleaned email and then picked her back up. I finished some laundry and then crashed for the night.
  • Thursday - Clint and I were “off” but we were just around the house so we both did a little work here and there. I helped to solve some employee relations questions and tuned into a cost management call while also participating in my quarterly board call for equality. I was able to get the house cleaned up and finished our laundry. I then got ready to tune into the Bengals game with minimal hope. Clint ran Maci to her practice so I could fully watch. Q1 was a little rough BUT then the Bengals found a rhythm and never looked back! Joe Flacco had a great game, our stars willed their way on offense and Defense did enough to get it done! I was soooo happy at the end of that game!
Friday:
  • Up and packing around 9a
  • We got on the road around 1030a for Kansas City - we had to cancel our annual Grandview resort plans for fall break b/c Maci’s team had 2 divisional games against Sporting KC.
  • The drive wasn’t bad and we rolled into KC around 530p.
  • We went to Joe’s for some yummy BBQ for dinner and then hung with many of the families to watch the University of MN big win against Nebraska that evening.
Joe’s BBQ
Saturday:
  • We got to sleep in which was nice. The team did breakfast at 930a and then had a team walk/stretch.
  • While they were off doing that, Rachel and I set up a bead activity so the girls could make their bigs for the team a year older than us key chains.
  • Once finished, we had some down time in the room and then ate lunch - Subway for the kids and pulled pork sandwiches for the adults.
  • We had a bit more down time and then we had to get ready for our 230p game.
  • The girls played great and won 5-1 - Miss M had an assist to Isabel by using her body to flick it forward.
  • We headed back to the hotel, Connor and JD fit in some swimming and then we were off to Chicken and Pickle for team dinner/bonding.
  • We had a nice time and then headed back to the hotel for a quick parent night cap drink and the girls got in bed by their 10p curfew.
Beading Fun!

Chicken & Pickle Fun
Sunday:
  • Up and at ‘em and out of the hotel by 840a.
  • Game 2 was at 10a and once again a great outcome, this time 4-1 and another great assist by Maci. She also had a great rip on goal that the keeper barely got some finger tips on to push it out for a corner kick.
  • We all smiled/celebrated the win and then loaded up the cars for the long 6 hour 30 min drive home.
  • We have 2:30 left on our drive and should get home around 7p. Just in time to do some laundry, unpack, get the car washed and order groceries before showering and crashing in bed.

While it was a busier MEA fall break weekend than usual, we wouldn’t rather be anywhere else than watching one of our 2 all stars do what they love! Great job TFE!

Lots of Love,

Connor Picture Day, Home Soccer Games + End of Baseball & Football and Launching into Basketball

Weekdays:

  • Monday - I had a dentist apt in the evening and found out I have 1 cavity, 2nd in my whole life UGH! Connor had football practice and Maci had soccer training.
  • Tuesday - Connor had picture day and went Viking jersey route this year.  At night he had football practice and Maci had a super late soccer practice.
  • Wednesday - I hustled home from work as Maci and Connor had practices at the same time.  Connor’s was his final baseball practice for fall and they played parents vs kids. Clint has a hilarious picture of him coming home and poor Eli was playing catcher, I’d like to think Clint never thought of hitting him. . . Hopefully HA I was tied up with Maci at her practice.
Such a great crew!

Poor Little Eli HAHA
  • Thursday - Started my day with Connor at the orthodontist.  We found out that Connor is ready for round 1 of braces - he gets them on November 11th. I then had a good productive day at work but hustled out of work to meet my gal pal Amber for Happy Hour.  While I was doing that, Clint ran Maci to her babysitting job after school then was off to final football practice with Connor. Maci’s babysitting family then ran her to soccer practice at 830p after she was done watching the kids - busy gal!
Friday:
  • Clint went golfing with some pals in the afternoon.
  • Connor and I played some basketball together.
  • I wrapped work for the day and started hanging with the kids.
  • We ordered pizza and then fought over what Halloween movie we were going to watch for family movie night.
  • Clint got home, we ate and then watched Addams Family (OG version)
  • We then went our own ways and watched what we liked for the evening with Connor watching a movie, Maci hanging in her room and Clint and I catching up on college football and our show “The Morning Show”
Saturday:
  • Up and at ‘em - took a quick walk to start the day with Clint and Connor
  • Then I was off to a massage while Clint ran the kids to their annual flu shot appointment.
  • I hustled home and headed to Connor’s final football game. He had a great game with lots of good tackles, a touch down run that got called back due to a hold by a teammate and then also played QB and threw for a nice completion. Maci and I had to leave early for her game but they ended up winning by 3 points in a super close game vs Tonka.
  • I was off to Maci’s game and then met the adults at the local bar for a margarita ahead of time.
  • Clint and Connor got there just shortly after kickoff.
  • The girls started slow but ended up in a 2-2 tie vs a team from Nebraska.
  • We then hustled to Slick City for Connor’s end of year football party.
  • Both kids had a great time and then we headed home for some dinner, college football and R&R.
Awesome Year 1 of Tackle Football
Sunday:
  • Up way too early for a weekend! We had to get Maci to her soccer field by 8a.
  • Per usual our girls are just not an early team. We lost 3-2 to an Iowa team that we had NO business losing to so disappointing ride home for all.
  • I put away all the laundry and then we were off to a pre-season basketball team for Connor.
  • Connor and the team CRUSHED team 1 but then went on to get beat in game 2 and the final game. Good learning heading into the season on what we need to work on.
  • We rushed home so Clint could make it to a mandatory basketball coaches meeting at 630p.
  • I got meals planned for the week and groceries ordered and now we are showering and getting all the things ready for the week ahead.
We hope you are enjoying the fall season!

Weekdays:

  • Monday - Connor had football practice and Maci had forward training late at night. I hung back and watched the HORRIBLE Bengals Monday night game.
  • Tuesday - Clint and I both got our flu shots - I did mine at my work wellness fair and Clint ran up to our local clinic. Thankfully this year’s didn’t seem to hurt my arm the same but I did feel a bit run down the rest of the week. That night Connor had football practice and Maci had soccer practice which I managed with her.
  • Wednesday - Maci had soccer practice and Connor had baseball practice. Allison helped me get Connor home as they ended at the same time and Clint had his baseball board meeting.
  • Thursday - I left work a little early to get my nails done. While I did that, Clint and Connor had football practice. Once I was done, it was time to run Maci to her practice. Afterward, she got herself all packed for their weekend trip to Milwaukee.
Friday:
  • Clint and I started the day with a walk
  • I then had a productive day at home. Clint left around 1145a to go pick up Maci from school and hit the road to Milwaukee for her weekend games.
  • Connor got off the bus and we hung out until some neighborhood kids came over.
  • That night, he and I ordered some take out and rented the Smurfs movie. We then also watched the K Pop demon hunters movie before having a sleepover in my bed.
  • Clint and Maci made it safe and sound - Clint hung out with the dads and shared some bourbon.
Saturday:
  • Connor and I were up and at ‘em early as he had a football game vs Tonka at 9a. They had a great game and won 20-6. Connor caught a sweet 2 point conversion and some nice tackles.
  • Afterward we went to Northern Tap with many from the team for brunch.
  • Connor and I headed home and took a nap
  • I was up and at ‘em in time for Maci’s 245p soccer game.  She was the first goal! They ended up going 3-1 Wahoo!
  • Connor and I then had more fun together with pedicures.
  • We ate some dinner and then I ran him over to his friend Ander’s house (in our neighborhood) they were doing an outdoor movie evening
  • I watched the OSU game while he was gone and then they dropped him off around 915p and shortly after he got home, we both fell asleep

Sunday:
  • Connor and I had a slow moving morning while watching the Vikings in London
  • At 11a we tuned into Maci’s 2nd game and they dug themselves a 0-3 hole that they had to climb out of - they got it back to 2-3 but couldn’t tie it up.
  • Shortly after this ended, we had to head to Connor’s final fall baseball game with a resounding 24-13 W vs Hamel Hawks.  Connor had some great hits and pitched 2 no hit/no run innings.
  • A good chunk of the team went to the ballroom for dinner/drinks/games after but Connor was ready for some quiet time so we headed home. I got to see the 2nd half of another yucky Bengals game.
  • Connor jumped on the neighbors trampoline for a bit and I got my Sunday to dos completed. Before we knew it, Clint and Maci were pulling up at 730p. It feels so good to have us all back home!
Bugger!
