What a Week - Maci is 9 Months!!!

Maci had a crazy fun week and the first just keep on coming.  On Wednesday, our lil Maci turned 9 months!!  Although, she thinks she is more like 15 months or so =)

Monday
Maci loves her activities at daycare.  They say that she is so happy throughout the day but when it is time for art or any sensory activity, she gets very intense and takes the assignment very seriously!  She is a lot like her momma on wanting to do a good job on all her work YAY!

Check her out working on the Jello sensory activity!
Tuesday
Today was Maci's first parent teacher conferences!  Clint and I met with her morning teacher Gabby at 730a and had a wonderful 15 min conversation about how happy and enjoyable Maci is in class.  We hope for a lot more of these kind of conferences over the next several years!  However, the one comment was that she could take better naps at daycare.  She is such a social butterfly that she rarely wants to stop for a good nap.  How funny that on the day they tell us this, I get this picture sent to me!  She passed out mid play in her jumper at daycare!

Wednesday
Yay Maci is 9 months!  I will post pictures of her 9 month sticker and a list of current likes/dislikes later this weekend.  However, in the meantime, Maci had a great day filled with laughter and giggles at daycare.  She then played with Clint and I at home and played a fun game of steal the pacifier with me. Clint took a very cute video that I will load hopefully in the near future!  She is such a happy go lucky kid and we are really blessed to call her our daughter.

Thursday
Maci had her 9 month Dr appt this morning.  She shocked the Dr by how physically advanced she was at only 9 months.  In addition, Maci is now in the 64% for weight and 52% for height - HOLY COW!  This was the baby that wasn't on the charts at one point - So Big!  She then went to daycare and unfortunately started getting some diarrhea in the afternoon, poor baby!  We think it is a combo of a 3rd tooth coming in, flu shot and all the great new table foods that her body is getting use to.  So this poor diarrhea started causing some diaper rash as well - again poor baby!  However, typical Maci, she was so darn happy and couldn't wait for swim lessons that night.  I finally took some good pictures of swim lessons and her new swimsuit, we out grew the last one.

Hey Mom - What are you doing dry?
 Daddy/Daughter Time!
Friday
Poor Maci's diaper rash continued today to the point of some bleeding, Ugh poor baby!!!  She woke up once last night just screaming because she had a wet diaper and her lil touche was on FIRE.  The diaper creams are helping but we let her play around tonight without a diaper on to help air it out.  Again, a yucky diaper rash cant get this girl down!  Check out how happy she was playing dress up with a daycare costume - she is so darn cute!
Happy Weekend Everyone!

Miss Maci has gone from tiny baby to CHUBBY infant!  Ever since we started more table foods a few weeks ago, she is LOVING life!  I feel like all we take pictures of anymore are of her eating.  Enjoy the following!

Daycare is so much cooler than mom, they let her feed herself at times =)

Weekend Update

We have been seeing glimpses of Maci's budding personality over the last few months now but this weekend I realized, she is FUNNY!  She has such a happy go lucky personality and is starting to make funny faces with great timing of when she does them.  Maci is also really into monkey see monkey do and so that has led to her doing all sorts of funny faces, scrunching her nose and playing with her tongue.  The babbling is also becoming a bit more clear and I am fairly sure she is say dadda but I say it doesnt count until she knows to be saying that particular word directed at Clint.  However, she is funny to converse with now, big girl!  Oh and not to mention the fact that she is trying to walk all over this house. . . silly girl!

First, here are some pictures from last Sunday.  It was a GORGEOUS fall day so we decided to take a quick walk to the park that is only 2 doors down from our house.  Maci had so much fun swinging in the "diaper" swings and sliding with daddy.  This kid has NO FEAR!

This weekend was really rainy and cold in Minneapolis.  Clint wanted to get started on at least the back part of our new privacy fence this weekend so that we get the Cedar wood out of the garage before winter, plus we wanted to beat the ground from getting too hard.  So because of this, Clint worked out back all day Saturday (in the misty cold rain ICK) while Maci and I ran errands and ultimately blew 3 hours wandering around a local mall.  This girl is her mother's daughter because she sure enjoys shopping and people watching.

Taking a pause for a pick post Maci's 1st Auntie Anne's pretzel bite
Someone cant hang quite like her mom ;-)

Then today we did our typical Sunday football day with another wonderful Bengal win, sorry Dolphins!  Also like a typical Sunday, we had people over to watch the game.  This day was unique though because we had never met these people before.  My college roommate Ashley lived in Chicago for several years before just moving to NYC.  She had a friend of a friend that recently moved to Minneapolis for work related reasons so she got us in touch with each other since we are both transplants to the area.  Plus, Jamie and Mike also recently had their first child (Brielle).  So today the three of them came over to meet us and it was a great time!  They are really nice people and we have a lot in common, always fun meeting more new people!  Brielle is 6 months old so very close in age to Maci and I love having more moms to compare notes with :)  I plan to invite Jamie to one of our mom & me get together at some point so she can meet some more amazing women/moms in the Twin Cities area - what a great weekend!!

Have a great week everyone!

Boomer is 4!!!

Ever since we have been blessed with Maci in our lives, my first baby has really taken a back seat (oh and no that isnt Milo).  I guess one could argue that Milo was my first baby but 1) he is a cat 2) he could careless about me and my desire to cuddle 3) he never really was the baby type and wouldnt play along in my dress up games.  So Boomer, my first baby and boy did I baby this one, he was the puppy I couldnt wait to pick up at 6 weeks, he cried the whole way to our house since he was the first to leave the litter so we played Christmas carols in the car and it put him to sleep, he taught me what sleepless nights with a baby would be like with the constant beagle whining at night, we barely graduated puppy class together (more my fault than his), he gave me my 10 mins of fame by making it on the Shelby County calendar and he was the one I cried the most about missing (sorry Clint) when I lived in Minneapolis for a month before they got here.  He sure has been a pest at times, especially with Maci and his constant jealous fits over attention, but his personality fits our family so well and he gives us lots of laughter.  In the last few weeks I have seen a great bond starting to form between him and Maci (more through Maci's efforts & Boomer's pleasant surprise that everything she eats wont be in a bottle).

However, with all the attention we give to Maci, I thought it was only appropriate to at least dedicate one blog post to our buddy, Boomer on his Birthday!!!  Here is to many more my friend, we may need to do something about your gray along with the extra pounds you are carrying around these days =)

Enjoy looking at some of our favorite memories with our Boomer thus far!

What a Cute Puppy!!  (He went on to later destroy that pillow)

This was the look that got us into the calendar!

Always a good sport when it comes to dressing up. . .
 Milo NOT so much. . . .

So Flexible with the move to Minnesota
But pouted a bit about loosing the fenced in backyard. . . we will have one again soon buddy!

We werent sure what to expect when announcing Maci's impending arrival . . .

But he has been a GREAT big (sometimes jealous) brother
They will be the best of buds, very soon!
We Love you Boomer!

Maci's 1st Steps

Today at daycare Maci decided it was finally time to take those long anticipated first (unassisted/no net) steps!  She did two steps during the day and only one daycare worker saw them so the others were saying it didnt count since there werent witnesses.  Then I walked in around 530p while talking to my mom on the phone and what do I see (along with the daycare worker who saw it earlier in the day) 2 very proud yet wobbling steps!!!  It was like watching Bambi stand for the first time :)

I hope to get some good video of this new found skill very soon!
Welcome to our crazy world with a not quite 9 month old walking!!!

Pumpkin Patch!!

Sorry it has been so long since the last post!  Last weekend I came down with a stomach bug =( Fortunately I was the only one in the house to have said bug!  Soooo last weekend was a lot of laying around and Clint went to his co-workers wedding alone on Saturday while the babysitter still watched Maci and I lied in bed praying to feel better - YUCK!

So let's see what has been going on, lots of Fall Fun continuing at daycare.  Maci is a moving machine, still not fully walking on her own but between crawling and walking by holding onto a variety of objects, she gets around just fine!  Maci and a few other lil girls "rule the room" and are very good at making a mess lately.  The new game is to crawl around the room taking buckets of toys, dumping them out, laughing once the teacher looks and then off to the next bucket.  Please keep doing this at daycare and NOT at home =)  Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks.

Daycare doesn't think I believe how much she loves to paint - this picture was supposed to be proof :)
HAHA - this was a picture they sent me of her trying to crawl under a gate. . .
Someone is getting some blondie blondie hairs!!!
Playing with the Squash during group time
 Pumpkin Puree!

This cracked me up. . . her friend Reese looks like she is saying "Maci, I dont know, I wouldnt check to see what is inside that pumpkin!"
But BRAVE Maci says "I will check it out for the both of us Reese!"

Ok so enough about daycare and all their fun learning.  We continue swim lessons on Thursday nights and Maci just loves to swim with her daddy!  She is getting really good at "dunking" under the water and kicking her feet.  We had to get a new swim suit this week since miss chubby thighs cant fit her current one anymore, poor girl is already having swimsuit issues!

Since I was sick this past weekend, I couldnt wait for the coming weekend with my little lady and Clint.  Especially because we had plans to go to the pumpkin patch!  The one we chose this year didnt end up being as great as the website showed but we had a great time anyway.  Here are a few of our favorite photos from our chilly day outside!
 HOW GREAT IS THIS PICTURE?!

You ask how I get her to smile for pictures?
I sing "Booties Booties Booties rocking everywhere. . ." Yep our daughter likes Hip Hop music
Got to Love the Maci "dazed" face in the family photos!

So then we get back home from some errands and Maci started her favorite game of making funny faces in the mesh on the side of her play pen. . . she just cracks us up!  This kid is sure forming a great personality!

Well the rest of the weekend is going to be some R&R, cleaning around the house & watching football all day tomorrow!  Yay, perfect fall weekend with my family.  We are getting really excited about Halloween being right around the bend too.  Thanks Grandma Gilroy for Maci's great trick or treat basket. . .personalized and all.  We look forward to sharing lots of Halloween pictures in just a few weeks.

Until the next post, have a great week!  We love and miss you all!

Lots of Love,
