President's Day Holiday & Momma to TX

A lingering Sunday picture
Maci's playdate with Natalie

What a wonderful start to the week - NO WORK!  So the kiddos headed to daycare on Monday and Clint and I headed back home for a lazy morning, brunch out, Mall of America (MOA) window shopping and lunch.  What a nice day together while the kiddos played at school!
After a wonderful long weekend, I had to pack up for my first work trip in a LONG time.  I was off to Dallas, TX for the Finance Development & Training Institutes regular meeting hosted at Kimberly Clark's HQ this time around.  It was so nice to go from 60 degree temps here to 80 degree temps in Dallas!  I had a nice trip and while I missed the kiddos, I knew they were in good hands back at home with Clint.

Friday - I got back home a little sooner than planned on Thursday because we opted to take an earlier flight given the "white death" they were predicting in the Twin Cities starting Thurs night.  We landed at 430p and come Friday there wasn't even 1 snow flake.  The National Weather Service actually issued an apology because they made this out to be a blizzard when the metro saw 0!  However, I am pretty ready to be done with snow so I am ok that they got it wrong :)

I had a busy day at work of meetings and getting caught up after having been away for a few days.  Clint got home to pick up the house around 5p and I got the kids and headed that way a little later.  We all enjoyed pizza dinner and I surprisingly had some energy for a Friday night so I kept getting some work done while also watching Dirty Dancing with Clint.  Man do I love that movie and the feeling of accomplishment when getting caught up! :)

Saturday - What a Busy Saturday!  Connor was a bit whiny with the molars coming in so we decided to divide and conquer our Saturday morning which was a great call!  Clint took Maci to her dentist apt at 830a and then onto dance class at 930a.  Unfortunately Maci didn't have much patience for the dentist so they only got half way through this cleaning but she LOVED dance and costumes for the recital arrived :)  While they did that, I got the house in order, completed some weekend errands/laundry and got Connor to take a great morning nap!

Clint and Maci brought some bagels home with them and we got ready for the next part of our day.  Maci was having her friend Tanyn from school over to play - a repayment for the play date Maci had at their house about a month ago.  Tanyn arrived around 1230p and hung with us until 230p.  Tanyn was very sweet and Maci was extremely hyper!  The girls were all over the house and had so much fun playing make believe.  Clint ran to the grocery for us right before Tanyn arrived so we were able to get that checked off the list as well!

Maci had the tongue out idea ugh!
After Tanyn left, we had one more daytime adventure.  The neighbors kitty corner in our backyard, Nora's family, had a birthday party for their 1 year old from 3-5p.  We hiked up to their house a little after 3p and hung until happy birthday was sung and cake was handed out.  Once we got home, we all crashed! Connor took another nap, Maci watched some iPad in bed, Clint and I watched TV on the couch.  Clint headed to get dinner for all of us and then we handled bedtime.  I was so exhausted so watched TV in bed and Clint headed out around 9p to a neighbors house for drinks and basketball watching with the guys.

Sunday - We have had a lazy morning at this house.  We just finished watching Finding Dory on Netflix with the kiddos.  I have no real plans today and that feels awesome!  Maci has a friend from school's birthday party from 3-5p but other than that - lazyville!  We are starting to get very excited for our FL break with the kiddos and the family matching shirts arriving in the mail made us that much more ready!
I am signing off to go back to my lazy day, maybe take a shower :)  We hope you all have a wonderful rest of your weekend and week ahead!  I fortunately have a happy hour tomorrow night so how bad can your Monday be when you have that to look forward to?! :)

Lots of Love,

Valentine's Day & 60 Degree Temps in February!!

We had a good week in this house and now Clint and I are enjoying a 3 day weekend - thank you Cargill for recognizing President's Day as a work holiday each year!

Friday - I had an annual Dr check up around 9a so I stayed at the house for my 8a call while Clint took the kiddos to school.  After my apt, I got into the office and ran meeting to meeting until the day was over in the blink of an eye.  I picked the kiddos up and headed home for Pizza.  Clint was already waiting on us as he had ran out at 4p for our annual tax apt - YUCK!  We then cuddled on the couch and had a low key evening with our crew.

Saturday - Dance class in the morning and we were not just on time we were 5 mins early for once!!!  Holy Hannah!  After dance we ran the grocery errand, had some lunch at Chipotle, dropped off Clint and Connor while Maci and I picked up some FL essentials and other weekly needs at Target.  We came home for a little downtime before getting ready for date night!  Clint and I had $50 to Manny's steakhouse and decided to take the opportunity to get dolled up and have a nice meal without the kiddos.  The best reservation time we could get was 5p so we were in and out of dinner/back home by 7p but it was a lovely dinner.  We then got to get in Pjs and watch TV together.

Sunday - So the weather has been insane amazing!  Today it is around 60 degrees and sunny.  We had a fairly lazy morning around the house before taking a 3 mile walk around the 'hood.  We set off on our trek a little after 10a and got back home around 1130a.  I was amazed how well Maci did - only asking to go on Clint's shoulders 2x.  It was a gorgeous morning walk and at one point Maci says, "mom, I have a lot of neighbors!"  I love when the neighborhood wakens up with the spring sun!
After returning from the walk, Maci played on her bike and Connor hit a ball while I folded laundry on the front patio!  Ahh I can't wait for spring/summer to be here to stay!  The kiddos sure loved getting fresh air and vitamin D.

Now M is off to Natalie's house for an afternoon play date, Clint is getting a haircut and picking up some lunch while I get to dos completed around the house.  It is so nice to be productive like a regular Sunday but to know we have tomorrow off!  I can't wait to enjoy brunch and some shopping with the hubby and no kiddos - they have school!  I sure wish we would have more 3 day weekends - so nice! :)  It is especially great timing since I head off to Dallas for work Tues-Thurs.  Wish Clint luck, he hasn't done the solo dad gig in quite a while ;-)

Have a great week ahead and we hope many of you get to enjoy Monday off!

Date Night Friend Fun & Natalie's Birthday Party

I have a cheesy grin on my face as I write this week's update.  I thank a wonderful weekend for this silly grin, it was the perfect balance of family and friends - adult and kiddo time!  In addition, we have spent the afternoon planning out our Florida trip and summer vacation long weekends - how can you be down when thinking about warm weather?!  Before I get into all that fun, let's see how the week shaped up.

Friday - Wahoo we made it through another week and that much closer to spring!  I am starting to get the itch and thank goodness we have a FL getaway coming up because I need some warmth!  We can't even really complain about this winter since it has been fairly mild but still - I want water, walks, sand etc.  We rode together on Friday so left the office around 5p, grabbed kiddos and ordered pizza.  Sadly they sent the pizza with the wrong crust but it was still Friday night, so how bad can it be.  We cuddled up to watch TV and mom fell asleep at 8p, seriously I have become my mother!  I arose from the couch around 11p to realize everyone had gone to bed and I was alone in the dark downstairs - man this week kicked my rear!

Saturday - Dance class with the almost 14 year old ;-) HA!
Mom, Let's Go!
After dance we headed to the grocery and then some afternoon quiet time while Connor napped, Maci played on iPad and Clint/I laid on the couch - ahhhhh love some weekend down time!  Around 430p I started to get ready for the night.  We had date night plans with 3 other couples (Zehr's, Cassem's and Fike's).  Miss Kaitlin arrived around 6p and Maci was so pumped to see her fav sitter.  Connor on the other hand realized I was leaving and wasn't in as good of spirits, fortunately bed time was nearing for him :)  We made it to dinner at Pub 819 in downtown Hopkins and the fun ensued.

After dinner, we took an uber to Tuttle's where some friendly competition between couples began in the form of bowling.  I was HOT the first game with a 9, strike, strike, spare, spare in my frames but Clint totally fell apart in his frames and we came in 2nd behind the Zehr's who were also on FIRE!  Fortunately Clint found his rhythm in the 2nd game and I didn't fall apart too much in order to pull off the W!  Lots of laughs and good convo with great friends!
Bowling Fun

Sunday - I was getting things done around the house this morning when I realized we were going to be running late for Natalie's birthday party if we didn't get a move on it.  Maci can't be late for her best friend's birthday party - especially when it is at Little Gym!  Fortunately we were fashionably late, only 5 mins, and there in plenty of time for the fun inside the padded paradise.  Connor had a blast crawling around, surfing from equipment to equipment and just staring at the big kids!  Maci had a blast playing the games and seeing her friends :)  Clint and I enjoyed the Pizza!  Thanks for the great time Cassem Family!!

Post party, I have spent the afternoon getting our remaining FL plans finalized.  We also locked in the WI Dells for this summer and planned out a few other vacation days including some time when my mom comes to visit for Maci's recital and long weekends for 4th of July and the Fair!  Yay Summer Fun - I can't wait!  In a little bit we will turn to dinner, baths and Monday planning.  What a wonderful weekend!!!
