Thanks to long weekend vacations, this was the first full week of work and school in August.  For a full week, it actually moved pretty quickly which was greatly appreciated by all of us :)  The weather is starting to feel a bit fall like which has us all looking forward to chili, soups, football, sweaters/boots and pretty colors!  Yay!

Friday - My schedule made me able to take the kids to and from school on Friday.  Clint and I both got out of there at a good time on Friday and cooked up a take and bake pizza from Lunds Byerlys vs ordering.  We had a yummy Taco Pizza which Maci turned her nose up to - picky eating in full swing!  We all hung out and watched some TV before I started to crash.  Clint watched some pre-season football while I watched some Dateline in bed.  We all needed some sleep!

Saturday - Maci had her dental checkup in the morning.  Clint took her while I stayed home with a coughing Connor.  I received a text that Maci has 2 cavities and they will fill them (even though they are baby teeth - I had no clue!)  I am NOT looking forward to this with M b/c she is sure to hate the dentist after this :(  Clint takes Maci this coming Thursday afternoon for the fillings - Lord help them both!  After the dentist, they brought home bagels and I did a lot of errands around the house.

In the early evening, we went to Miss Kim's benefit.  There was such a great turn out and Miss Kim was sporting her new wig which is awesome!  It looks so natural and Maci kept telling me how pretty her new hair is :)  All those kiddos were hanging on their "Miss Kimmy!"  The adults had fun checking out the silent auction items.  They made a Vikings basket with our donation which included 2 tickets to a game and 2 vikings hats.  We are waiting to hear which ones we came out on top for - we were in for a few relaxation, kids toys and yard Jenga items.  Even if we didn't win, we are excited to hear that the items went for even more which means even more financial support for dear Miss Kim!  We took off around Connor's bed time and shortly after getting him down, Clint headed to the neighbors for the big fight since our neighbor Ben bought the pay per view.  Connor kept waking up crying so I pulled him in bed with me until Clint got home around midnight and took over.

Sunday - Thankfully Connor woke up coughing less so the neb treatments are working (it can't be sick season already!)  We have been having a slow morning here which is nice.  I have been finishing laundry, tidying the house and will take a family walk in a bit.  The Bengals pre-season game is on TV around 330p and Clint/I have a date night today at 4p.  Our monthly date night was supposed to be last night but we moved it to today since we wanted to go to Miss Kim's benefit as a family!  We aren't quite sure what we are going to do but we know we are heading to dinner at a place that will have my game on TV!!  Yay football is almost here!

Our family is so excited for the short week ahead.  We are all taking off Friday to enjoy the MN State Fair and make it an even longer Labor Day Weekend!  Beyond the fair we don't have too many plans which has us even more excited! 😍

We were so excited to get through the week and head into our annual friend's cabin trip!  We took off Friday and got up, packed and headed to the grocery for our snacks and breakfast items.  The Mondell's were in charge of both breakfasts, while Zehr's were lunch and Cassem's had make your own pizza dinner and Fike's did pork tenderloin and potatoes for the first dinner!  By 1030a we were on the road and enjoying the 4 hour+ road trip.  We met up with Zehr's at some point in the middle of nowhere and decided to grab some lunch with them.  By 230p we were at the cabin and ready for some fun!  It was an amazing weekend and the pictures below help to show what a great time it was! We can't wait to do it again next year :)

What a Difference a Year Makes!!

We are now getting ready to head to the grocery, taking care of lots of laundry and getting prepared for a full 5 day week ahead.

Kissing Connor & 5 Year Old Birthday Party!

While she is missing the Dells - she was quite OK to get back into her daycare fun with the bounce house being there on her first day back!  Mom got through the first day back knowing she had a happy hour that night with Megan and SVO (retired former leader) - so fun catching up with that one!

On Wednesday, Maci got to have Bob the Baker at school.  This is an adorable 80 something year old man who loves to teach little kids how to bake.  Maci loved her bakers hat and some of the songs he taught them - so sweet!

Mom got a haircut on Thursday night while dad took the kiddos to their open house at daycare.  Connor even got to jump in the bounce house which made for a FUN Thursday night!

Friday - Finally (ha only 4 days) we made it to Friday!  After work, I met up with John, tax leader who I use to work with more regularly, for happy hour down the road from our house.  Mom got to have a Friday night out for a bit since Clint would be golfing Saturday morning while I have both kiddos.  Good time catching up with John and rolled home to some pre-season football with Maci and Clint - YAY almost football time!

Saturday - Clint was out to golf before we all woke up.  I quickly got both kiddos dressed and then we were off to Target.  We had to get Sally a birthday present for her 5th birthday party before heading to the Minnetonka swimming pond.  It was so cute when we got there as we were about 15 mins late and all the little girls started to scream "MACI MAGOO" as we walked up to the party.  Maci sure is the life of the party and is such a sweet friend, making sure to be inclusive and play with all the little girls.  She was quite the fish, swimming the whole time without her swim wings - amazing what you can do when you have a little peer pressure from your pals :)  I enjoyed chatting with several parents and watching Connor eat sand ICK.  Clint met up with us around 1p when the party was starting to wind down.  He took Connor who was needing a nap and I hung with M for about another 45 mins.  What a super fun 5th Birthday Party - thank goodness for those summer birthday kids :)

Isla doesn't go to school in the summer time and Maci can't wait for her to come back in the fall!!**

That sun wiped us out so the family had some down time while I got errands done around the house.  Maci is now signed up for Saturday dance, next level of ice skating for Monday nights and Sunday school during Sunday mass.  In addition, Connor finally gets his own thing - he will do Little Gym on Wednesday evenings starting in September!  It felt so good to get some of these planning items complete.  Once Maci ended quite time, we also busted out hair chalk I bought her - So Fun!  This is temporary (washes out) metallic color that you "chalk" onto the hair - needless to say this girl loved it!

We watched some more NFL pre-season football and all crashed hard!

Sunday - Today is an overcast get stuff done day around here.  Connor is taking a morning nap, Maci is watching iPad, Clint is getting yard work in before the rain and I am doing the usual laundry, finances etc.  In a little bit we will run some errands and make some good dents in the to do list - makes me so happy!  Later tonight I head to sip n shop at Evereve at the west end with some girlfriends where we get to shop after close (6-8p) for just us with apps/drinks with 15% off anything we buy - should be a fun way to wind down the weekend with some good girlfriends :)

We have another short week ahead with the annual cabin trip this coming weekend - we head with the Fike's, Cassem's and Zehr's to the cabin on Friday morning - I can't wait to get all these goofy kids back together for some end of summer fun!  Anticipate lots of fun/cute pictures to come next weekend.  We hope you all have a great week ahead and enjoy this end of summer time frame!
