This short week went nice and fast!  It was also pretty quiet at the office with so many people out on vacation time and enjoying the last bit of summer.  Maci and I hit the dance studio on Wed night to get new shoes, tights and a leotard.  She is so excited for dance to start again next weekend!  On Thursday, Clint took M back to the dentist for X-rays which confirmed 2 and maybe 3 cavities - UGH!  They wouldn't fill them there as they would like us to see a children's specialist.  Her cavities are near the root and they were afraid they may hit it while a specialist work on little teeth all the time.  Needless to say we have become obsessed with tooth brushing, flossing and Maci is well aware she has to watch how many sweets she has on a regular basis.  We will call the specialist on Wednesday to ensure they take our insurance and get this scheduled - poor M!

Saturday - We had thought about doing a pool day but ended up using a lot of our Saturday for errand running, including a lengthy but needed trip to Target.  We ended the day by heading to a park, picking up BW3 wings and driving around Medina area to see if we would ever look at houses out there - the verdict was good potential.

Sunday - What a HOT but FUN Day!  We headed to Apple Jack's for our first apple picking of the season.  We invited the Deery's to come along with us.  Chris is a colleague of mine who just moved his family (wife, 2 boys (5 & 7 years old)) from Scotland to the US.  They only arrived last weekend so we wanted to offer to show them one of our favorite family spots in the cities.  We remember what it was like to be new to the cities and we are happy to help them feel settled in anyway possible.  We had a great late morning into early afternoon at the orchard with their clan.  Maci really enjoyed Sam (5 year old) and at one point she sat near him on the wagon ride and he quickly moved to the other side of the wagon - she likely has koodies :)  It was a great time for all!

We then took a family walk and were able to say hi to the Gordon-Smith's who I feel like we haven't seen all summer long!

Monday - Labor Day!  Our family was off to enjoy the beautiful day at Como Zoo.  We got to see the  last day of the butterfly exhibit and the Sparky Seal Show for the season.  We enjoyed lunch during the seal show and headed home around 1p after a ride on the famous carousel.  The kids were both good so they got to pick a special treat this time - Maci chose for them (Connor was sleeping) these stuffed animals filled with Jasmine / Lavender rice.  You can heat them up in the microwave so they are warm cuddly toys that smell soothing and relaxing.  Maci got a unicorn and Connor got a frog.  So far so good - Maci cuddled with hers in bed during quiet time and Connor kept his arm around his during nap time!

While Connor still slept, Maci and I painted our nails and now we are lounging around enjoying the end of a wonderfully long weekend!!  Clint is about to pop in a take and bake pizza and I am laying out clothes for our first day back to routine.  We are excited to kickoff much of our new school year routine this week : Connor starts gym on Wed, Maci's dance begins Sat.  Next week is Skating for M on Mondays and Sunday School for her as well.  We are also eagerly awaiting the arrival of Nanny and Grandpa Mondell this Thursday so we have another fun weekend ahead!
