Flag Football Starts & Spring Sad Weather Continues!

Weekdays :
  • Monday - Clint headed to Chicago for a quick work trip.  I worked from home before grabbing the kids and hauling Maci to a 530p soccer practice.  It was a blistery 30 something degrees and they still had the kids go 45 mins - burr!!!  Connor and I hung in the car listening to music and playing hidden pictures while petting Rosie who must come with :)

  • Tuesday - Maci had more girls on the run after school and continues to LOVE it!  We headed home after picking up Tuesday takeout to benefit Greenwood school.  Clint arrived home shortly after bedtime and was able to say hi to the kids before they were asleep.
Finally lost the wiggly tooth :)
  • Wednesday - I had my Human Capital team quarterly offsite followed by a happy hour with our team and business partners.  Clint hung with the kids and they enjoyed their own dinner
What a hunny!
  • Thursday - A final day of quarterly meetings with my Human Capital team.  Maci had another day of girls on the run followed by soccer practice at 530p.  Clint ran her so that I could get some work done.  We then met back up at home for dinner and then interviewed our summer nanny, Kristy!  She is going to be great, I just know it!  We put the kids to bed and then had hot tub party with the Harty's - fun Thursday!
Friday -
  • We both worked from home and had good days
  • We picked up the kids together to get Maci to her gymnastics and found out she finally got off the wait list for level 1 (more competitive).  So starting this coming Friday she will do level 1 from 630-800p every Friday.  This will run through the end of the school year and then we will sign her up again for this next school year.
  • The weather was gross and rainy so we went to Culvers instead of River Inn
  • Clint and I watched some Americans and then we crashed
Saturday
  • A warm day (74) but stupid on and off rain and crazy wind!
  • The day started with my monthly massage at 10a
  • Then I ran Maci to her soccer practice at 12p while Clint and Nate changed out the screen on our back door
  • I picked her back up and we grabbed some Starbucks
  • Headed home and I took a really nice afternoon nap
  • After getting up, we started to get ready for a family date night - Kobe Japanese steakhouse followed by the Movie Bad Guys
  • We ran into Maci's pal Penny and her family at the theatre and we all loved the movie, so cute!  Maci kept saying "mom this is just like the book" CUTE!
Sunday
  • Grabbed some Dunkin Donuts
  • Took the dogs on a walk in 40 mph winds (what the hell is this spring!)
  • Got Connor ready for his 1st flag football practice - thankfully Clint hung with him for the 90 min windy session while I hung back with M and ordered groceries, finished laundry and packed for DC
  • We are all home and avoiding the wind the rest of the day.  Clint is napping, Maci is playing on a phone and Connor is doing his picture search book.
  • I need to finish packing and preparing the house before I leave for my quarterly leadership team offsite in DC.  I am excited to have a break from this stupid spring weather!
We hope you had a great week and hopefully are enjoying better weather than we are!
Lots of Love,

Easter 2022!

Weekdays :

  •  Monday - The kids were still off school - longest spring break ever - but headed to Wayzata Kids for the day.  I headed into the office and Clint worked from home.  Our windows finally started to get installed but we ran into a bit of an issue with some moisture problems around the stucco on the front of the house.  All the ones put in on the sides or back of the house look awesome so we say some prayers this front of the house stuff gets figured out shortly and as reasonably as possible!  Clint picked up the kids from camp so that Maci could get to her first outdoor soccer practice of the season on time.  I headed there a little early to watch some of their practice before taking her home.
  • Tuesday - Back to school!  Maci had her first Girls on the Run practice after school and loved it!  I had a hair apt after work so the kids and Clint were on their own for dinner.  We all met up come evening time and enjoyed some Americans before bed.
  • Wednesday - Another day in the office for me followed by a work dinner to welcome a new hire to our leadership team.  Got home late from dinner but thankfully Clint had every thing well taken care of on the home front so we could watch some Americans and call it a day.
  • Thursday - We both worked from home and Maci had her 2nd Girls on the Run practice.  She was supposed to have another outdoor soccer practice on the turf at Wayzata High School but given it was barely 30 and snowy they cancelled - is spring weather ever going to show up and stay?!  We wrapped the night with hot tub party with the Harty's but we sat through blizzard like conditions at one point with high winds and stupid snow flakes - seriously go away cold weather!
Friday
  • Another work from home day for both of us and I was super motivated and productive!
  • Maci had another Sing 2 musical practice after school and she is really enjoying an activity that isn't athletic in nature.
  • We picked the kids up and headed to Maci's gymnastics
  • After gymnastics we had dinner at River Inn
  • All kids crashed in the car on the way home and then Clint and I ended the evening with The Americans.
Saturday :
  • We started the day with Clint taking Rosie to the vet for her annual shots and heart meds
  • While Clint was doing that, the kids and I headed to Hamel Community Center/Park for an Easter egg hunt.  It was a little bit chaotic but we still had a good time, even if I was freezing and could barely feel my fingers in my gloves by the end UGH
  • We ordered some lunch at home while Clint went to his monthly massage
  • I got laundry and a lot of to dos done around the house as well as purchasing a plane ticket to my Grandma's celebration of life in June.
  • I took a brief nap on the couch and then got ready for date night with Clint.
  • We headed to the mall to get Clint some new jeans and then headed to COV for dinner.
  • After dinner we decided to head home vs bowling or getting drinks and then went over to the Harty's for a neighbor fire.  We tried to squeeze in an episode of our show but I crashed hard after helping the Easter bunny get set up.

Sunday
  • Happy Easter!!!
  • The kids got us up too early - Maci tried to tell Connor it wasn't 7a yet but of course hearing kids at 6 something am still starts to wake you up!  We finally went down and let them find their baskets and eggs at 7a.  Clint and I drank a lot of coffee.
  • We were lazy around the house most of the morning before doing the usual Easter festivities ending with brunch at Birch's around 12p.
  • Once home, I climbed into bed and took a 2.5 hour nap!  I was so spent!  Clint joined for a bit of it but he won't nap as long as I do.
  • Now that I am up and moving, we are getting groceries done, Maci is doing her math homework and we are getting ready for another week of school, work and sports!

Weekdays :

  • Monday :
    • Day 5 - Another great weather day!

Final Night Henna Tattoo
  • Tuesday :
    • Day 6 - Final Day BOO!
    • We got up and had some Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks for breakfast before doing some final pack up and then driving to the airport.
    • Thankfully our flights were on time and all good to go!
    • I worked most of the flight back and the kids + Clint enjoyed watching movies and playing some touch screen games.
    • We got home late afternoon and were able to get unpacked, some laundry rolling and preparation for the rest of the week ahead.  What an awesome trip!!!
This girl and her airport selfies!
  • Wednesday : Kids headed to Wayzata Kids camp and Clint and I went into the offices - I had an all day meeting and we all crashed early for bed after exhaustion!
  • Thursday : Another busy day back in the swing of things and the kids enjoying the Wayzata Kids camp.  Clint and I were both a bit tired so watched The Americans vs Hot Tub party.
Friday :
  • Productive work day for both Clint and I from home
  • We picked up the kids and then headed to River Inn for dinner - no gymnastics b/c of spring break!
  • We had a wonderful dinner and then came home for some TV and rest
Saturday :
  • Nicer weather at home!
  • Very productive day with pulling out patio furniture, cleaning closets, changing out hot tub water, etc.  Love a good spring day like that mixed in with kids playing outside and getting a walk with coffee in the morning!
  • Around 5p we started to get ready for date night with the mommy & me friends!
  • Liz came to watch the kids at 6p and we were off to a new restaurant inside the Hewing Hotel in North Loop of Minneapolis.
  • Afterward we walked to Black Sheep Pizza for a few more drinks.
  • We called it around 11p and all headed home
  • I was pretty spent so we didn't head over to the neighbor fire and instead caught one episode of The Americans before crashing.
Pretty Spring Day!

  • Got home and got everyone ready for Palm Sunday mass/Sunday school
  • Had a nice mass then grabbed bagels for the family
  • Clint is smoking some beef for us for dinner and boiling the Easter eggs
  • I am finishing up the errands around the house and getting us all prepared for a full week back to school/work and spring activities kicking off!
  • Maci is excited to hang out with her pal Livi from the neighborhood, they are meeting up now and Connor continues to have a blast outside with his buddy Nash.
  • We hope you all had a wonderful weekend and we all can't wait until spring/good weather is here to stay!!!!

Spring Break Round 1 - Clearwater Beach!!

Weekdays :

  • Monday - Quick school and work week for us - I was at the office getting things prepared for our vacation and Clint cranked on things at home - thankfully no evening activities so we could rest!
  • Tuesday - Another day at the office for me followed by picking up the kids while Clint dialed into a zoom call for Maci's upcoming Girls on the Run activity!  Later in the evening I cleaned up email while getting a pedicure in prep for the sandals!
  • Wednesday - I worked from home and had a lot to do to ensure things were in good order.  Clint ran Maci to soccer practice while I finished our packing.  We all crashed with excitement of beaches!
  • Thursday - Happy 44th Birthday Clint!!  We woke up, sang to dad, threw our final items together and were off to the airport.  We enjoyed some breakfast and grabbed a few Starbucks before our 3 hour flight to Florida.  We landed and got a convertible for the week before heading for the Beach.  We enjoyed a little bit of pool time and got settled in our room before heading over to the Demko's condo (their spring break was wrapping when we arrived!). We went for a lovely dinner with them and then out for drinks afterward!  Part of the joy of them having older kids is that they could babysit ours at their condo while we went out!  What a fun night!!

Party Time
Friday :
  • Day 2 - We enjoyed a day of pool, beach, pool, beach, etc.  The weather wasn't amazing but thankfully it cleared up shortly after breakfast!
  • We decided to meet up with Demko family for dinner as it was their last night before heading back to Ohio.
  • We had a blast at an outdoor restaurant that had a long wait but that was made easier by one of those yard games - the long string with the circle hook and then you try to swing it to get latched on the hook.  Well Connor is a ringer at this game and hit it 15 times - the text closest kid was 8 HA - Maci was sad as it took her a while to hit but once she did she was able to hit 5 times.
  • The kids enjoyed fancy looking drinks and the adults enjoyed good conversation, weather and food.
  • We said our goodbyes and then headed back to our room to crash!

Dinner w. the Demko's
Saturday :
  • Day 3 - Another wonderful day of pool, beach, pool, beach etc.  We had a yummy breakfast to start the day at a little joint right down the road.  Then we did our regular day plan.
  • The weather did turn around 330p when we were by the pool so we headed to our room and enjoyed some quiet time, naps etc.
  • For dinner we went to Hulk Hogan's place which had ok food but the kids loved looking around at the attire and watching a WWE event that came on the TV.  Mom & dad wanted to go there b/c we knew it would have the NCAA games on TV HA

Dinner
Sunday :
  • Day 4 - What a pretty day!  We had another yummy brunch to kick off the day and had a lovely stroll to and from the restaurant.
  • Afterward, we purchased tickets for a pirate ship boat cruise.  We enjoyed some pool/beach/lunch before hoping on the boat.
  • Once on the boat, Clint and I enjoyed the free light beers that came with the tickets and the kids enjoyed the pop and pirate games - face painting, treasure hunt, dance party, musical chairs etc.  It was a 2 hour ride on a gorgeous day!!
  • We tried a seafood restaurant not too far from our hotel for dinner and got our souvenir shopping complete as well.  We also enjoyed some Ben & Jerry before heading back to the pier by hour hotel for an evening stroll on the beach.
