Taylor Swift & Soccer Tournament Fun!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - No evening plans!  That meant I got to enjoy reading a book on the swing under our deck, lovely evening!
  • Tuesday - The kids went to Mall of America to ride rides with the nanny.  My team had a quick happy hour at the Flying Dutchman.  Maci had soccer practice and I ran to pick her up on my way home from the happy hour.
MOA Fun w. Steph
  • Wednesday - Maci had a soccer game at night.  They played great and won 4-1 with the 1 goal by the other team being an absolute fluke HA.  While we were at Maci's game, Clint and Connor were at Connor's baseball practice.
  • Thursday - We started the day with Maci getting round 1 of braces removed, she was so flipping excited!!  We got home just in time for her to get ready for gymnastics with Nanny Steph.  At work, I had a super fun 1:1 with Katie on my team, we checked out bikes and road around a pond during our 1:1.  It was super hot though so I came back in a total sweaty mess!!!  Thankfully we had no plans that night so I was able to enjoy more book reading on the deck swing.

Friday :
  • I got some work done at home and before I knew it, it was 3p and time to head to Jacey's for the Taylor Swift concert.
  • We met up with Jacey, Natalie and Stella and then we were off with Ryan as our driver down to downtown.
  • We had dinner at the Melting Pot, the girls mainly enjoyed the Chocolate part at the end and Jacey and I enjoyed the cocktail most.
  • Then we were off to the stadium and got there in time for the opening acts to be wrapping up.
  • Maci and I got comfy and then at 8p Taylor took the stage for the most amazing 3.5 hours of entertainment!!!  Maci was singing along to so many songs, never stopped smiling and kept telling me how great this is!!!  She clapped nonstop!!!  It was so much fun!
  • We got home around 1a which was going to be rough given we had an early soccer game the next day but worth it!

The End!
Saturday :
  • Alarms went off at 730a, ouch that was early and poor Maci said "mom, I didnt even sleep yet!" Ugh I know sweetie!  But after a minute she was up and at 'em ready to roll to the field.
  • We got there on time and the girls had a great 1st game of the tourney with a 2-0 W
  • We headed home and all crashed for some naps
  • Clint was up and off to a massage at 215p
  • Around 430p we were back off to the fields but the weather started to roll in and shortly after being at the fields the game was called due to lightening.
  • Bugger, no game 2 but we decided to go to Annelise's house as she has a sports court and tree house at her home so we could all hang out, adults could have some drinks and all could enjoy pizza.
Played against my dear friend & former co-worker Nikki's Daughter (Drew)
They were also exhausted from Taylor the night before!!!

Sunday :
  • Clint and I started the morning with a long walk with the dogs
  • We got some work done around the house to start the day before sports took over
  • Game 3 of the tournament was at 1p and thankfully the rain held off
  • The girls played so fierce agains the top Prior Lake team and they tied a super tough 0-0
  • Maci had this one break away to the goal with 2 defenders on her and she had a look in her eye of NO GIVE UP - she fired and it was gorgeous but hit the gosh darn crossbar - DRAT!
  • However, once home I checked my email to see a super great note - Maci was nominated and selected as the U9/U10 girls player of the month for all of Fusion!!!  Go Maci - watch my Facebook as I will forward their post once it is out there - we are so damn proud of that girl!!!
  • Shortly after getting stuff done around the house we were off to Connor's baseball game.  He had some awesome hits today, such a little baller.
  • Once home, kids played outside, Clint mowed the lawn and I ran up to the high school to get Maci's shirt for soccer camp this coming week.  The coaches were congratulating Maci for being player of the month and saying how deserving she is, I sure do agree!!
It lightly rained at one point and Clint borrowed this umbrella
Thank you Kari for snapping the pic!

Love this team!!!

The neighborhood kids stayed outside playing basketball in the pouring rain!

We hope you are loving summer as much as we are!

1st Week with Steph & Father's Day!!!

Weekdays:

  • Monday - 1st day with Steph!!  We are so looking forward to our summer with nanny Steph!  She had a busy week too with Connor having Football camp from 12-2 Mon-Th and Maci having a Track & Field Camp from 1-4p Mon-Th.  They had a great first day and then we were off to Delano on a lovely evening for Maci's soccer game.  They won 2-0 and it felt like it could have been 20-0 b/c we had so many shots on goal and dominated!!
  • Tuesday - Another day of camps which the kids love!  Rosie had a grooming apt mid day that Clint ran her to and from.  In the evening we had an open calendar so Maci and I went to get pedicures, her first real one with dead skin removal HA :)
  • Wednesday - Another day of camps and this time I was the one to drive home and relieve Steph at 430p as Clint was in the office.  We were supposed to have soccer practice and baseball practice but there were Canada fires that were impacting our air quality so they were both cancelled.
Connor & his buddy Brooks at Football Camp
  • Thursday - Maci had her first gymnastics class of the summer at 915a.  Connor and Maci then had their last day of camps.  I had happy hour with my former leader Lori at Fat Pants Brewing.  While I was at that, Clint ran Maci to and from practice.  Once home we decided to head to the Harty's for a drink and cornhole.

Missed Lori!
Friday :
  • I was pretty tired after a night of cocktails, bags and staying up a bit late.
  • Fortunately I had 2 meetings and then an open calendar.
  • By 230p I called it on the work front and took a nap until about 530p - Amazing!
  • I got up and enjoyed Punch Pizza with the family at home.
  • We had a quick video chat with my gal Christie and then Clint and I took a nice long walk.
Ready for the season with this new top!
Saturday :
  • A nice slow morning with a long walk to start the day
  • Maci had an age group soccer training and scrimmage from 12-130p
  • Afterward we all got ready for our neighbor's birthday party for their dog, Moss - the big 1!!
  • We all hung out, even Rosie came for a quick Happy Birthday message :)
  • We called it for quick late afternoon naps and then we were off to Rogers for dinner and fun at the Roger Carnival.  We also tried some apps at R Social - Yum!
They can be the best of buds!
Sunday :
  • Happy Father's Day!
  • We got up and helped to pull weeds with Clint in the backyard - his ask
  • We then ordered bagels for delivery and were going to head to the driving range but it started raining.  We came home to have Clint do gifts - lots of bourbon themed and then they were off to Connor's football practice.
  • Maci and I showed up for the game and they WON!  They won 21-18 against the only team that had beat them week 1 so they ended the season in 1st place!!!!!!  Connor was pretty pumped and took off his shirt and whipped it around his head HAHA
  • We grabbed some McDonalds for lunch and then hit the driving range - really fun and the kids got better as the time went on!
  • We were then off to Connor's baseball game - he is quite the fielder and had a great hit!
  • Off to River Inn for our Father's Day dinner, lovely night outside.  We all had a great time, got home in time to finish some household errands and crash!
  • We love all the dads and dad like figures in our lives!!!

End of the School Year!

Weekdays:

  • Monday - Maci had a soccer game in Shakopee at 645p.  This is a team they tied/lost to last year but not today!  Our girls came out ready to roll and ultimately won 5-1!!
  • Tuesday - Maci had her final girls on the run party after school.  I had dinner with my leader, Rebecca and a co-worker Kelly who was in town for the week.  Maci was asked to sub again for an Academy 1 regular season game.  They unfortunately lost 0-1 and Maci didnt play a lot of the 2nd half b/c they put in mainly the regular team players but a good learning opportunity nonetheless.
  • Wednesday - Clint and I both worked from home b/c we headed to Lake Rebecca for Connor's 1st grade field trip for a good chunk of the day.  Connor was so pumped to have us both there and to eat Jimmy John's for lunch.  We then went around to all the stations with him and his classmates.  While the boys were upset losing the tug of war to the girls, they got over it with huge icee pops!  Such a cute time watching Connor our little social butterfly!

  • Thursday - Last day of school!!!!  Can not believe Maci is going to be a 5th grader and entering her last year at elementary!  Also, Mr Connor is going to be a 2nd grader - WOAH!  We blocked our calendars in the late afternoon so we could pound the kids with water balloons and squirt guns when they came off the bus.  We then headed up to the park for our end of year neighborhood party.  We wrapped up there to head to the Deeb's house for a pizza dinner with many of the neighbor pals.

Friday
  • The kids had their first day home from school and did great!
  • I had lunch with a former co-worker and a busy Friday schedule in general
  • We all hauled out to Minnetonka Middle school for game 1 of the tourney
  • The moms had a few too many booze around the sidelines but the girls rocked it!  They were playing up in the tournament and lost 1-4 but they were down 0-4 at half (SHOCK for them!) and their coach told them they wouldn't give up another goal and they would score.  Well Maci came right out and pounded a goal!!!!  And they didnt give up another one - they played on fire in the 2nd half!
  • Afterward we went to Ike's for dinner and the mom's had another drink - woah 1 too many HA
Ike's After Party
Saturday
  • The boys started the day with haircuts at 920a
  • I had to roll out of bed (OUCH!) for an 11a massage but that did wonders for me
  • Our neighbors then ran Connor to and from Hendrick's birthday party while we headed to Maci's game 2 - they had another nail biter and tied 1-1.  Maci had an insane cross shot into the corner of the goal!
  • We were all so exhausted that we hung out casually at home to rest the remainder of the day!
Sunday
  • Maci and team had their final game of the tourney.  They played a bit more flat footed and lost this one 0-2.  A good effort all weekend by the girls playing some tough teams!
  • We headed to brunch as a team at Golden Nugget
  • Afterward Lucy came over to play with Maci and Connor had Nash over while I ran all over trying to get errands done before our Nanny starts the next day.
  • Everyone got picked up/left and then we had Connor's baseball game at 630p with a killer pop fly catch!!
What a Team!
