Outdoor Sports, Twins Baseball Game & Soccer Scrimmage!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - It was a nice day out!  Maci had her indoor soccer training at 5p and I grabbed her on my way home from work.  Clint grilled out and we had some yummy cheeseburgers and baked beans for dinner.  I even took a walk with Clint in the evening to get some steps in!
  • Tuesday - Rain rain go away!  Icky gloomy day.  Clint had service today out for our spring tune up - yay, almost AC season!  In the afternoon, I had a conversation with Connor's teacher since he had a rough 1st week back post spring break.  However, he was way more focused to start this week so YAY!  Connor's 1st baseball practice was cancelled due to weather.  Maci had soccer training at 5p again so I grabbed her on my way home and we enjoyed skyline chili dogs for dinner!
  • Wednesday - Maci had her first MCA state testing for reading - always long days for those kiddos!  Rosie had her annual vet apt, always a fun bill :)  We enjoyed Shrimp Scampi for dinner and Connor had his 2nd to last religion class.  I worked a bit late at the office so had to heat up my dinner after getting home but it felt good to get caught up.
  • Thursday - Maci had day 2 of the MCA reading tests, she thought she did well but did think it got hard at the end.  I left work a little early as both kids had sports at 530p.  Maci had practice at the high school which I ate dinner in my car and watched her/cleaned email on my phone.  Connor was able to have his first baseball practice which Clint is the head coach so this should be a fun season!  I took a hot shower and was ready for bed by 8p :)
Friday
  • Productive day of working from home!
  • We ordered a nasty type of pizza so everyone complained about dinner.
  • At 730p, I ran Maci to soccer practice (thankfully moved to the indoor complex b/c it was 30 something outside).  While she practiced, I slammed 2 margaritas with Kristi and Molly - 2 of the moms - at Rock Elm across the street.  On my way to the bar, I got a text from the Academy 1 coach asking Maci to play as a guest player in their scrimmage against the team a year older Sunday night.  Nice job Maci - hard work pays off!!!
  • We headed home around 9p and crashed for the night while Clint and Connor were watching the remake of Roadhouse on Tv.
Saturday :
  • I started the day with a massage at 915a - heaven!
  • Clint ran Maci to gymnastics at 10a and given it is right by the salon, I picked up some breakfast and headed to her gym to wait in the car then come in for a bit to watch.
  • Maci and I headed home to get some things done and then get ready for Matilda Jr the musical at the Stages children's theatre.  They do such a good job - Connor and Maci loved it!  Lots of fun music and it only runs 75 mins with no intermissions!
  • We dropped Maci and Connor at their neighborhood friends house - Harper and Colton - on the way home.
  • I laid down for a nap and Clint picked up Connor around 415p for a birthday party at the Plymouth Community center - Suraj from his class.
  • I woke up when they got back from the party.  Clint and I had some Greek food - gyro for him and Greek salad for me and the kids ate around the house.
  • We got to cheer on the Timberwolves to their first NBA playoff win in FOREVER! HA
  • Clint went to meet up with Brad (Soccer dad) for a few drinks while I enjoyed some random Law & Orders in bed.
Sunday :
  • Nice slow morning of music and to dos around the house.
  • At 12p we were off to downtown for the Greenwood Elementary day at Twins Stadium.
  • The food was tasty but the play was sad - they were losing 6-0 heading into the bottom of the 9th.  Thankfully it was a sunny 60 degree day which made for a nice experience!  Also, a home run was hit in the 9th which was too little too late but at least fun for the kids to see a score in the game!
  • We headed home and got here a little before 4p.  Now we are cleaning up the last minute weekend to dos, waiting on groceries to deliver, preparing for the week ahead and getting ready to head to Maci's scrimmage at 7p.
  • Here is hoping they have a great game tonight and we stay warm!  60 degrees for a high gets real cold when that sun goes down!

Maci and I are getting super excited to head to St Louis next weekend with her team for their out of state tournament of the season!  My mom and dad are going to drive and meet us down there too!  First time for them to see her in action in quite some time for my mom and ever for my dad!  Let's go!

Lots of Love,

Back in the Routine but Weather is GRAND!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - The kids still had the day off school, lucky!  I was back at the office and a lot of my direct reports were now out on their spring breaks - baton passing :)  I had a 1/2 day afternoon meeting which helped me to get back in the swing of things.  In the evening, Maci had her training for Infiniti with Soccer from 5-6 and then we hustled home for her 640p evaluation.  Maci gets so shy during these conversations but dang if her coaches dont love her!  Such a sweet young lady she is becoming!
  • Tuesday - Back to school which was a rough wake up and plan for Mr Connor :( He had a bit of a rough week in general, ugh is it summer break yet?!  Maci once again had training at 5p but she was supposed to have game face conditioning after but they never showed so kindly Violet's dad, Mike, took Maci over to Rock Elm where the soccer teams were having a watch party for the women's US team.  Connor and Clint were already there holding a table for us and then I went right there from work.  US pulled it out in 2nd round of PKs - fun game to watch with buddies!
  • Wednesday - Maci had a field trip to Feed My Starving children which is a charity sending food to kids in 3rd world countries.  Ms Maci wasnt sure what to expect but loved it and now wants us to volunteer time as a family - Love!  Then at night, Connor had his religion class and Clint played chauffeur for Connor and the neighborhood kids both ways.
  • Thursday - Oh man the weather is getting amazing!!!  We are going to be high 70s come weekend and by now we were in the 60s - YES!!!  Love when this time hits!  I had my first board meeting for a new group I joined - it is a non profit that hires disabled people into jobs in the community.  I'm excited for this new learning and helping out with the community.  At night, Clint and Connor went to Dick's to exchange his bat as the one we bought is illegal for this age group HA.  While they did that, I ran Maci to her first outdoor practice of the season - YAS!  From 7-8 she practiced while I hung out in my car :)
Friday
  • We made it!!!
  • The weather is gorgeous, sunny day and Clint had the Masters whispering in the background.
  • I had a busy morning of calls but then a really nice afternoon of getting shit done!
  • Clint on the other hand had a super slow day so he got to enjoy the Masters and handle the kids once they got home off the bus :)
  • We ordered pizza for dinner and then ran Maci to her outdoor practice at 7p.
  • While Maci had practice, Connor played on the playground and Clint and I got a 1.5 mile walk in.
  • We then hung out watching a Fusion girls scrimmage while waiting on Maci to wrap practice.
  • We ran to Honey & Mackie's for ice cream after the practice - love nice weather!
Saturday :
  • Started the day with a Clint massage at 8a
  • I then ran Connor to get his haircut at 920a
  • While we were there, Clint ran Maci to her gymnastics class
  • I took a nice nap with the windows open and breeze blowing.
  • Clint mainly watched the masters all day and I got some things done here and there.
  • Connor played outside with buddies - his neighborhood rat pack :)
  • Maci was picked up around 4p to go spend the night with her former classmate Rowan who now goes to St Louis Park schools post her parents divorce
  • Connor Clint and I ordered Rojo for dinner and ate on the deck before getting ready for a night with the neighbors around our fire pit.  Connor stayed up too late playing soccer under lights with the older neighbor boys and I enjoyed some beers with Clint and the neighbors - Ahhh love nights like this!!!
Sunday
  • Maci got dropped off at 9a and that is what woke us up HA - sleepy heads!
  • We got up and moving with me running Maci to her practice at 10a
  • Afterward, we were randomly talking about phones as I saw 1/2 her team calling their rides as I pulled up.  We had a good adult conversation with Clint and next thing you know, Maci and I were heading to AT&T to get her a phone and on our plan.  The watch has been great but not near as reliable and Maci has proven her maturity and as she goes to Middle School it is nice to be able to catch each other real time.  She is in heaven and has been setting it up all afternoon.
  • Clint is still enjoying the masters but also ran out to pick up the baseball gear as he is coaching Connor and the Dodgers this year!  They are set to start practice Tuesday!
  • Connor is once again outside running around with his rat pack.
  • I folded laundry outside b/c it is so nice out here!!!  I plan to eat dinner out here again too! :)
  • Groceries are on their way, laundry is put away and I am enjoying the sunshine with my Miss M.
Big Girl
We beam with pride over this one and have such open conversations about growing up!

Monday

    • We got a great spot at the pool thanks to Ryan laying out towels on his way down for coffee each day!
    • We had a blast laying by the pool and then the guys where off for their 1p tee time.
    • Clint said it was the prettiest landscaped golf course he has ever played.
    • They had a blast!
    • While they golfed, we did pool and beach which included hair braids!
    • The girls were amazed by Jacey and my negotiation skills.  Connor got more shell necklaces and a few braids of his own.
    • We headed back to the pool and the dads showed up.
    • We didn't have dinner reservations this night so we did some of the grab and go options - deli and pizzas.  It was a gorgeous night out on the dock so we sat along the water and watched the yachts come in and out.

Beach Fun!
Back to the Pool!
  • Tuesday
    • Beach day!  Connor LOVES the waves and shells.  So we agreed to do one day where we mainly sit on the beach vs keeping our home base at the pool.
    • They started the day with a kids banana boat ride with Clint and Jacey as the adults going.
    • Before we knew it, Jacey and I were off for our fun - Massage & Facial at the Spa!
    • It was glorious and I totally dozed off during both!!
    • We met back up with the crew and then moved to the pool for some fun in the sun.
    • The kids had their kids night at the kids club and fortunately this was way more fun than hip hop night!  They did some pirate events and it sounds like it was fun games, more than 1 drink HA and good times.
    • While the kids were gone, we had drinks at a bar and then hit up our dinner reservations at Nobu!
    • It honestly may be the best sushi I have had my entire life - it was so fresh and tasty!
    • We grabbed the kiddos and got some dessert on our way home.

    • More pool fun all morning long!
    • We were off to do our dolphin swim around 1p
    • We loved our gal - Magara!!!
    • The kids loved her tricks and the belly rubs we got to give her!
    • We bought some pics and souvenirs before we were back at the pool for more chilling and sunshine!
    • We had dinner reservations at Silan - Mediterranean food!!  My 2nd favorite place and Clint's fav.  We ate outside with a gorgeous view!  The kids behaved and loved their food too!  It was a really really nice final dinner for our trip!
    • We then headed to family karaoke night in our hotel lobby.  Maci signed up for Taylor Swift's "You Belong with Me" - we werent sure how she would do as she doesnt really sing in front of others but she was insane good!!!  She knew all the words so she faced the audience, had all her dance moves, was loud and proud and got a standing ovation!!!!  Clint had a few tears of pride for his gal just owning the moment!  Unfortunately our pal Jacey bumped a button on her phone and only got 4 seconds recorded vs the entire performance which she intended.  Maci told her it was ok b/c she will always remember it!!  People were coming up to her and saying "are you the girl that sang Taylor" - it was amazing!!!  Even Connor gave her a HUGE HUG afterward :) So stinking cute!!!  She was on a high :)
    • Clint and Connor then sang "Luke Bryan - Ice cold long neck beers never broke my heart" and that was near the end of the night.  Connor was adorable and only sang the refrain and kept his hood up the entire time - far more of my kind of performer!
    • We finished the night with ice cream and the guys went out for one more drink while the ladies were spent!

  • Thursday
    • Our last day - Sad!  But we dont leave the resort until 3p so we got up, had breakfast, packed up, dropped the bags and then hung at the pool all day!  We rode the rapid river one final time and Connor jumped in the waves for the last time too.  By 230p we were changing into dry clothes and waiting for our bus.
    • We had an on time flight out of Bahamas to Miami at 7p - the KC D coordinator was on our flight.  Clint and I thought he was a Cargill former co-worker b/c he looked so familiar but then we finally placed who he was HA
    • The flight was a little bumpy but fast - 30 mins up and down :)
    • Our flight in Miami was about an hour delayed - Boo, not the last flight!
    • However, as we boarded Maci and Connor got so excited b/c they realized Jackson McAndrew, Mr Basketball MN & Wayzata stud player, was on our flight.  Connor said hi to him on the flight.
    • We had a little bumpy at times flight but I sat with Connor and he fell asleep before take off and didnt wake until landing time - a decent 4 hour flight home.
    • Maci sat with just Natalie and they did great, looking back at Jackson every so often making sure he was still there I guess HAHA
    • We landed at 1a and the kids got to get a picture with Jackson and we talked with their family for a few minutes after deplaning which just made our kids night.  They seemed like such a kind family!
    • We got our bags, made it to the car and were home in bed at 230a.  Yay for taking the Friday off!!!
