Nanny Coverage & Kellie’s Quick Trip to Ohio for Grandpa's Celebration of Life!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - We have a sub (Tori) for our nanny this week b/c Grace is in Mexico.  Connor had basketball camp start today and really enjoyed it!  In the evening, Maci had soccer practice but it got moved indoor due to the weather.
  • Tuesday - Connor had another day of basketball camp.  Maci did some indoor soccer training in the afternoon.  Both baseball practice and Maci’s soccer game in the evening were cancelled due to more rain!  We are OVER the rain!
  • Wednesday - No camps today and no sports in the evening so we had shrimp scampi for dinner and chilled out.
  • Thursday - Connor had basketball camp again today, more fun!  Maci had gymnastics in the morning.  In the evening, Connor had baseball practice.  Then we all headed to Bass Lake Playfield for Maci’s soccer game.  They had a wonderful 4-0 win and Maci got the first 2 goals!!!  Such a great game by our fav ladies :)
Friday :
  • Connor had his final day of basketball camp and loved it!
  • Clint ran to a massage at 10a and ran Connor before and after to his camp.
  • I cranked on some work in the morning and then around 2p Clint ran me to the airport for my 330p flight to Ohio.
  • My flight was slightly delayed due to some weather in MN and I landed in Ohio around 7p - fairly smooth flight.
  • My sister Meghan picked me up from the airport and we drove to my parents, getting in around 8p
  • I was starving so we headed up to Lulu's for food and beers.
  • Once home, we were all exhausted so crashed.
Saturday :
  • We got up and had some breakfast before heading to the cemetery for my grandpa's ceremony.  While I was at this, Maci did some soccer training at home with Clint driving her.
  • After the ceremony, we all left the heat and ate at the VFW, grabbed pictures of my grandparents and us kids growing up and caught up with family.
  • After a while, we all left and my dad rested at home while my mom, sister Meghan and I hit up Froggies pool bar at Indian Lake.  We had about 3 cocktails before calling it for the day.  It was a fun time for sure.
  • We got back to my parents and chilled for a bit before heading down to my brother's restaurant for dinner.
  • Back at home, Maci, Clint and Connor went to the Aurora (MN Women's pro soccer team) game with 2 other soccer families.  It poured down rain at one point and Clint/Connor were miserable so they left Maci with the others and went home.  The Aurora won 4-1 and then they met back up with Clint and Connor for dinner at the Gold Nugget.
  • Back in Ohio, my sister headed home to Cincy after dinner and I rode back with my parents for some TV and then bed time.

Maci's Fun at the Soccer Game!

Sunday :
  • Woke up and hung with my parents for a bit before I had to pack up and we were off to Columbus for a Skyline lunch followed by a drop off at the airport for my 1250p flight home.
  • I had a super smooth flight home which was nice and flew right out to the kids and Clint in the car for pick up.
  • We got home in time to get some laundry rolling and unpack from the weekend.
  • Maci and I had to run up to the high school to get her t-shirt and registration for the coming week's soccer camp.
  • While we were doing that, Clint headed to Connor's baseball game.
  • We got there in time to watch them kick some butt and remain undefeated before heading to take Maci to her evening soccer game - such a pretty day!
  • I sat outside and got some work done on my iPad during the practice before heading home and finishing our laundry plans.
We hope you are all enjoying summer fun!

1st Week of Summer & Nanny Grace!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - Grace started with us and so I hung back a little before heading into the office to ensure she got all squared away on day one, she comes at 830a. The kids were SO EXCITED to see her!  Clint ran Rosie to the groomer shortly after she got there. Then I was off and Connor was getting ready for day 1 of Football camp. Fortunately it wasnt super hot this year, Connor always complains about how hot it is during football camp ;-)  That night, Maci had practice at 7p and it was a gorgeous night so I sat outside doing work at the park.  Afterward, Maci and the girls were so pumped b/c they had a new helper at practice - Katie.  She played for Stanford and now plays for the MN pro women's team, Aurora.  She signed Maci's cooling towel HAHA
Football Camp Bros
  • Tuesday - Another day of football camp for Connor.  I got new headshots at work which meant I dressed a little nicer than usual :) I then had a 1/2 day offsite with my leadership team and we did an awesome talent discussion, so well received!!  That evening, the Shamoon's kindly took Connor to and from baseball while Clint took Maci to her soccer game.  I was on a boat cruise with my leadership team - gorgeous night for it!  Towards the end of the cruise, I looked down at my phone to learn Maci had a killer rip and sure enough game winner - 1-0!  Dang leftie, I see you!
Just a little windy!

Gorgeous night on Lake Minnetonka
  • Wednesday - Rainy mess of a day!  I had to speak to 8k+ people during our fireside chat with the leadership team but I think I was super natural, at least Clint said that when I sent him the recording :) Then we had another 1/2 day leadership meeting.  Maci had a soccer training indoors and Connor's football camp was cancelled for the day due to rain.  By night, I was exhausted from a super busy week all ready and crashed early!
  • Thursday - Maci had her 1st summer gymnastics class at 915a.  Connor had the last day of camp that they added 1.5 hours to so it was almost 5 hours - a little much for any 8 year old HA!  However, he survived and got a poster signed by all the seniors - so cool!  I had a busy day of meetings but then got out of there on time to take Maci to her soccer game while Clint and Connor went to his scrimmage.  Maci once again fired with that left foot and scored 2 goals in the 4-0 win against Orono!  Her nanny Grace even came to watch her - so sweet! That girl is on fire and as a result was asked to play with Academy 1 in a tournament this weekend & in the USA Cup in July.  Go girlie girl!
Friday
  • Grace is off on Friday's and she is on vacation the next 1 1/2 weeks so we will have a sub.
  • I got some work done in the morning for an urgent deliverable.
  • I then ran to a facial apt before coming home and having a super productive afternoon.
  • We were in a lazy mood for a Friday night so got some Punch Pizza and Salads before taking a walk, watching random TV/resting!
Saturday :
  • Up and at 'em around 7a as Maci was subbing in the Academy 1 tournament and game 1 was about 45 mins away at 9a so arrive at 830a.
  • Unfortunately a 2-0 loss but Maci played fierce and thankfully wasnt in the mix on either scored goals :)
  • We then ran some errands at Target before heading to the Twins game.
  • We got there about 2 hours before game time and had tickets where you get unlimited food/soda/water so we had a full lunch.
  • About 25 mins before game time, they announced the game was delayed due to impending weather until Sunday and they would do a double header.
  • We finished our beers and headed home for a nap before the 530p soccer game but it got cancelled due to the rain.
  • Instead, we met up with some of the Academy 2 parents for dinner/drinks at Sunshine Factory - fun random Saturday night out.
  • We checked the schedule and due to the rain, even though dry on Sunday, they cancelled the rest of the tournament so yay - Maci and I can go to all of Connor's stuff.
Before the Rain Out
Sunday :
  • Happy Father's Day!!!
  • We started the day by sleeping in, giving Clint gifts and then picking up Peg's countryside cafe for breakfast.
  • Clint and Connor headed to Flag Football final game at 11a.  Maci and I came behind for the actual game at 12p.
  • They whooped up on the other team and had a great season with only 1 loss week 1!!
  • We all then hustled over to baseball where the butt whooping continued.  They crushed the Giants and Connor had some great in field plays as well as a few good hits.
  • We headed home, got some errands done and then were off to the Twins reschedule.  Dang was it HOT but also a gorgeous night.
  • Twins were able to hang on to a 9-8 win at the top of the 9th!  The boys loved how much hitting was happening - multiple home runs throughout the game!  Maci even enjoyed the baseball :)
  • We came home and crashed after a long hot weekend and too much fun!
Great Squad!

Happy Fathers Day - Post W

Twins Fun!

Last Days of School, US Women's Game & Tonka Splash Tournament!

Weekdays:

  • Monday - I had a virtual sleep consultation as my Dr wonders if I may have a sleep disorder.  Nice Dr didnt learn much, likely to do a sleep study some day at a lab.  Maci had training from 5-6p and then regular practice from 700-815p.  Nice night to sit in the car and get some work accomplished while she practiced.
  • Tuesday - Clint and I volunteered at Connor's end of year 2nd grade party in the morning.  We were at the face painting table.  I did ok and Clint was amazing!  I got up at one point to find Connor for a pic with his teacher and another mom took over for me - great strategy, I never had to paint again!  I worked from home the rest of the day and then Maci and I were off around 4p to a retirement party for my former co-worker Kerri Olzenak.  It was fun to say hi to so many people even if we were only there for an hour.  Maci and I had tickets to join her team in the pouring rain but at Allianz field to watch the Women's US soccer team.  They took on Korea and won 3-0.  One goal was right by us and a corner kick was taken 2 rows away from us - such a cool experience, Maci LOVED it!  Connor's baseball even got cancelled due to the rain but we kept rolling :)

We missed the group retirement pic but so many people I adore in this photo

Soccer Fun - A little rain never hurt nobody!
So close to the ladies!

Silly wet girls
  • Wednesday - After such a busy day on Tuesday, it was nice to have a chill day at the office and no plans in the evening - Clint and I even took a nice long walk at night.
  • Thursday - Last day of school for these kids!!!  Last day of elementary for Maci and she had all the feels.  Lots of pictures before they got on the bus.  I then worked all day from home but paused right around bus drop off.  Clint golfed with a neighbor in the morning but was also home in time to squeeze some work in and join bus drop off fun. It was a cooler but pretty day for the last day but that didnt stop us from pelting them with water balloons.  Shortly after water balloon fun, we were off to the park for the neighborhood annual last day celebrations. Maci then had practice with her team at 530p where we also hit them with water balloons and ate yummy ice cream treats! Maci left with Charley for a last day of school slumber party with her pals Violet and Charley - such good pals! Connor's scrimmage was cancelled b/c we have soft parents who wanted to let the kids party all night HA

Water Balloon Soccer Fun!

Friday:
  • I got a little work done in the morning and then was off to St Paul for my new non-profit board I sit on - eQuality.  The mission is helping those with different abilities find employment in the community.  It was a great meeting and nice to see so many in person for the first time since I have only had one other meeting.
  • Maci was gone all day at Charley's watching movies and swimming with her buddies - tough life!
  • Connor even had an invite to head over to Anna's house for a play date from 12-4p.
  • I finally wrapped work around 4p and picked up Connor and then Maci.
  • Our kids went swimming at the Harty's after dinner.  I sat over there chatting while Clint got his lawn mowing done.
  • Later that night, Clint invited over some people for a Bourbon bottle share.  Tena came over and hung with me and we stayed up too late for me with a few too many spirits so I had a dull headache when the alarm went the next day but fun times.
Saturday:
  • I started my day with an 8a massage which there are worst ways to start your day but I was so tired!
  • No rest for the weary b/c I got home and we headed straight for Maci's 1st game of the Tonka tournament.  We played the top Shakopee team and Maci hit a goal at the 50 min mark (60 min games) to give us a 1-0 lead.  We held on and BEAT them!!! Maci's coach told me it was the best 11U goal she has ever seen - so proud of this left footed shooter!
  • We came home and rested in between games.  I took a brief nap and moved on laundry.  Clint ran Connor to Graham's birthday party at High 5 Sports.  Connor was so pumped that he caught the game winning interception and helped the birthday boy win on his birthday :)
  • Maci and I were already at the fields for Game 2 vs CC United (we loathe this team, they are dirty/whiny and we have beat them 2x already but always a grind).  Clint and Connor met up and finally at the 53 minute, Miss Kennedy dropped a rainbow shot right over the goalies head - 1-0 W!!!!  Oh and Maci picked up her first yellow card on a play that would never get a Yellow but the parents went ballistic and ref gave it to them but then told them "SHUT UP - your job is to cheer"
  • Afterward we all went to Broadway Pizza and had the slowest service of our life.  Everyone was hangry and tired - it was not our best team dinner but we ate and smiled on the way out HA
Longest Dinner Kid Table
Sunday:
  • Early morning with a 8a game meaning leave the house no later than 7a
  • Since we shut out 2 teams we were going into game 3 with 8 points (4 points for a win that is also a shut out) and Edina's top team had 4 (a win but not a shut out and a tie against the Shakopee team 1) so all we had to do was not get shut out and we move on.  It was a great battle and unfortunately they scored first so now the pressure was on - tie, win or loss we move on but we had to score, not get shut out.  Mikah, our sub goalie, had a beauty of a punt and Sam took one touch right into the back of the net!!!!!!!!!!  We went nuts!!!  We move on! Maci was also super excited that her friend Livi came to this game.
  • Game ended in that 1-1 tie against the TOP Edina team - we were playing so tough!!!
  • We all came home for rest and Sunday chores.
  • Unfortunately, Clint and Connor had a game at the same time so they had to miss the championship but kindly Livi and her mom came again to the final game.  We were ready!
  • We played at 240p against a TOUGH Tri-City team (e.g. Fargo).  We lost to them last  year 1-4.  We scored first in the first 2 mins and the parents were all shocked, we almost forgot to cheer HA
  • We battled all game - they scored so 1-1, then we scored again 2-1, then they hit it for 2-2.  Then the whistle blew and it was going into PKs to decide the winner.
  • Both the first 2 made theirs (us and them) then our keeper stopped one AHhhhh!!!!  Then Maci was up and she shot hard but the keep punched it up over the goal so no goal - Maci melted into her teammates arms and I wanted to HUG her so bad.  That kid was a killer all weekend long! Unfortunately, Sam from our team also missed and so our goalie had to stop the last one to keep us alive and it flew in.  2nd place
  • I have never been so proud of 2nd place before!  Maci dried those tears, got in the pictures and took all the compliments on the way to the car.  Her coach told her Sophie Smith missed her first US soccer PK and hasnt missed again since.  Learning moments!
  • In other news, the baseball team continues to ROCK!  They won in a tight 7-6!  GO Boys!
  • Maci helped me to get all the house stuff done at night including cleaning/organizing the kitchen cabinets and she cleaned out the entire playroom closet.  While she was helping, Connor was over at his pal Anders' house for dinner and more play time :)
Morning Parent Tailgate!!
