5th Grade Graduation & All the Sports!

Weekdays:

  • Monday - Rainy Memorial Day called for a trip to the movies!  We saw the new movie "If" and it was super emotional.  At one point Maci said "mom, I think you are the only person crying!" Oh just leave me alone M HA.  We then had a lazy afternoon with Clint and Connor watching basketball and Maci and I catching up on some old school dance moms.
  • Tuesday - Clint ran up to the school for a bit in the morning to check out Maci and her fellow 5th graders take on the teachers in the 5th grade vs teachers annual basketball game.  Maci got a few shots off but didn't make any buckets yet played some fierce D, especially for a kiddo that mainly uses her feet in soccer.  After work we had a HH farewell to our colleague Bree who has decided to make the switch to staying at home with her kiddos - they are going to have such a fun summer!  While I was there, Clint ran Maci to training and thankful for Kari who brought her home.  Due to the weather, Connor and Clint didn't have baseball practice - freaking WET May!

  • Wednesday - Happy Birthday to Dad and Anniversary to my Parents!!  Maci had practice in the evening and I watched some TV in my car while waiting for her.
  • Thursday - I had my dear former colleague, Jim V's retirement party after work.  Thankful for Jess E and Kari H who drove Maci to and from practice so I could attend.  Clint and Connor came straight from baseball to say their well wishes.  Clint used to run with Jim over lunch and I worked with him when I supported the tax team.  I had a huge grin on my face all night after spending the evening with such wonderful people!

Friday:
  • Started the day with a bagel run followed by a few calls.
  • Maci had her 5th grade speech from 9a-1030a - she did super with clear speaking and lots of eye contact - yay 5th graders!!!
  • Then we were off to the grade school for her Graduation ceremony, a few tears, and then a picnic lunch with the families.  Maci is currently obsessed with Subway so we brought that for our lunch.
  • We said our farewells around 1p so they could wrap the day and once home I got some work done, squeezed in a nap and then started to prepare for Prom 2024!!!
  • The rain only helped my cause with the hair!  We did 80s/90s look again and the big hair loved the moisture in the air HA!
  • We met up with 8 other couples at Rock Elm - mainly soccer families- for dinner and it was a hoot!
  • We were then off to prom by 8p, danced the night away - too many laughs and too many pictures
  • We popped by the Innkahoots after party for like 1 drink and then called it as our bedtime was arriving given it was 12:15a ;-)
  • Such a fun night every year and all for a good cause!!!
Graduation Fun!

Prom Fun

Saturday:
  • Ouch - really didn't want to wake up nor did Clint HA!
  • We slowly got moving and then headed to pick up my car from the VFW along with some McDonalds breakfast
  • I started to feel better after eating but decided to take a nap
  • Thankfully Clint ran Maci to and from her training
  • After my nap, I felt like a new person
  • It was a really nice day outside so I got out talking to Tena, did some things around the house and then the kids swam from about 430-630p - yay summer!
  • After dinner I laid around a bit while Connor and Clint played at the park - we headed over to the Harty's for some fire fun (drinking waters HA) but I called it around 1030p to rest up.
Swimming Day
Sunday:
  • Up and at 'em for mass at 1030a - we drove separate since it was going to be a marathon sports day and Maci finally wore her new green dress :)
  • Both kids complained about being bored a lot this week at mass - ugh
  • After Mass, Clint and Connor were off to their flag football practice
  • Maci and I ran home to change and get laundry moving
  • Then we headed to flag football for the game at 1p - they won by 2 TDs and we saw Connor lay out some great D, good running and a super impressive pick to help get his buddy into the end zone.
  • Then we were off to grab a late lunch and then meet back up at the baseball field.
  • Again, Connor's team pulled it together to come from behind and pull off the 7-6 W before rain rolled in and we wrapped the game an inning early!  Connor had some great hits, good cheering of his team and nice fielding.
  • Then we popped home fast before heading in the rain to Maci's soccer game.  It worked out perfect and it cleared up until the very end of the 2nd half.  The CC United team gave us a scare by getting us down 0-1.  Maci felt awful b/c she was on center D for that goal.  However, it fired her up and they came out in the 2nd half pulling off a 1-1 come back and then Maci took over!  She was playing fierce and dare I say pissed off HA.  She fought with their D and then fired a left footer to the top right corner of the goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  2-1 W for the good girls!  Then we all hurried home to get out of the rain!
  • We tried to get a lot done around the house while eating a late lunch - not our most productive weekend but a lot of fun!

We hope you also enjoyed your lead into summer weekend!  The kids are pumped for this last week of school, final day on Thursday!!!
Lots of Love,
C, K, M & C
