Connor Made a Travel Basketball Team, Maci Made it to Semi Final, Kellie went to NYC & Kaylen Visits!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - Kids had at home learning day which means they basically hung around the house and annoyed Clint while he tried to work.  That evening Maci had soccer practice while Connor had a flag football game.  Connor and his team did great!  Maci had a good practice with ice cream after a big come from behind W on Sunday.  I watched the Bengals game and almost wished I hadn’t - urgh - figure this out!
  • Tuesday - I headed out of town to NJ/NYC with one of my business leaders to visit a pharmacy and meet with a company we are looking to purchase.  The pharmacy we visited was really great and then we had a yummy dinner with some good cocktails!  Maci had practice at night and seemed super excited for how she showed up against some older girls.
  • Wednesday - We had good meetings with the target company leadership team and then flew back home.  I landed around 5p and Clint ran Maci to soccer before meeting up with Connor at flag football.  Football did well and I had fun seeing my Maci girl do her thing after being away for 2 days.  That night we got a super special email!  Connor made 1 of 2 travel basketball teams - that means he was one of 20 kids out of 54 to get on a team!!!  He was one of only two Greenwood kids to make the team.  We are so proud of him and he seems pretty proud of himself!
  • Thursday - I had a super busy day back in the office but was nice to be back home and in normal routine.  Connor had baseball practice at night and our neighbors took him to and from b/c Clint was doing the prep for his first colonoscopy.  Maci also went to a dance class with her neighborhood friend Livi.  While they were gone doing this, my nephew Kaylen and his family swung by our house for a late pizza dinner around 7p.  We were so excited to see their new baby Amelia and to catch up with Matthew - big boy!  They left on the road to her dad’s house around 930p.
Maci is so good with the kiddos

She loved holding baby Amelia
Friday
  • Crazy busy morning!  I started working to help my friend/former co-worker Nicole, then I dealt with an urgent need for Optum Health, then Clint and I were off to his appointment.  No sooner did Clint head back for his procedure, I was running to Greenwood to see Connor’s Grizzly Dash.  I got to see him cross the finish line, take some pics and then head right back to Clint.
  • Clint had a pretty easy in and out procedure and we were heading home by 11a.  We grabbed an early lunch from Oak Eatry on the way home as Clint was starving.
  • I got some calls and work done while Clint rested.
  • Maci got home around 445p and we were off to get our nails filled together.
  • We came home and headed as a family to dinner at Lago Tacos for the first time and it was quite tasty.  We then swung by Cub for some candy fix.

Saturday
  • Busy sports day for us!!
  • Maci and team had game 1 of their tournament at 8a which was a 9-0 W!  Maci also got her first goal with TFE!
  • We headed home for some quick house to dos/nap and then we were off to Connor’s game 1 of the double header.  They had a crushing 1 run loss but played great.  Maci and I had to head for her 2nd game so we didn’t get to see game 2 other than Connor’s first bat which was a pretty single.
  • Clint kept me posted and Connor pitched 3 innings with zero runs!  Go buddy!!  He also had 3 singles on the game!
  • Maci’s soccer game was HOT 85 degrees and dang did we struggle.   The other team was NOT better than us but we played slow and made a few mistakes in front of the goal which led to 2 goals.  We were down 1-3 heading into the final few minutes.  Maci came in and had a very nice assist to Savanah so we ended up losing 2-3 but at least showed some fight.
  • Maci and I stopped at Crumbl cookie and Chick Fil A on the way home.
  • Clint and I blew off a get together at the neighbors b/c we were exhausted from a day of not being home at all.  We instead enjoyed the OSU vs Michigan State game and Alabama vs Georgia.
Annie had a hat trick in game 1
Happy girls after game 1

This kid cracks me up - rocking to tunes on his headphones

All Smiles Pre Loss
Sunday:
  • Back up and at ‘em for Maci’s semi final game at 1040a.  Unfortunately, we had a heartbreaking 0-1 loss and didn’t need to come back for the championship game at 3p.
  • That allowed for me to get in the car and watch the Bengals on the drive home, enjoy the game while doing laundry, grocery ordering, work prep etc.
  • We finally got the W which makes me so relieved.
  • Clint took the kids to Applebees for dinner and a 615p movie of a cartoon movie I wasn’t keen to see and this gave me quiet time to get some work done, enjoy football and just listen to the quiet in the house :)
We hope you all had a great fall week!  We are ready for fall temps to show up any day :)
Lots of Love,

Basketball Tryouts, Lots of Sports & Homecoming!

Weekdays:

  • Monday - Maci is enjoying all the theme days for Homecoming this week!  Today was comfy day which is how she dresses every day haha!  I had a team onsite with my new leader and peers.  I then sat with Maci at soccer practice while Clint and Connor had football at night.
  • Tuesday - Today was winter vs summer and Maci just wore shorts and a t-shirt, not a crazy theme!  At work I had my first talent session with my new leadership group and it went well!  That night I took Maci to her soccer practice again.
  • Wednesday - This day was rhyme without a reason day and I had never heard of this but Maci showed me lots of tik tok videos to explain.  She dressed as a "Napper" and her girlfriend Ava was a "rapper"  At night, I took Maci to you guessed it soccer practice!  While we were there, Connor had night 1 of Travel Basketball tryouts - 54 boys for 20 spots on 2 Wayzata travel teams in the 3rd grade year.  He thought he did well so that is all we can ask!
Napper
  • Thursday - I had a great lunch with my former leader to check in on how we are each doing.  Maci had toddler/parent/grandparent day and she was the grandmother HAHA - she always goes for the extreme 90 looking person.  That evening Connor had baseball practice with Clint while I took Maci to and from a soccer training at the Fusion center.
Grandma
Friday:
  • Today was Wayzata spirit day which was an easy one for M!
  • I had a super productive day while Clint went and played 9 in the afternoon.
  • We made our white chicken chili which made the house smell awesome!
  • Once Maci was off the bus at 445p, Clint was hauling her and her friends Kate & Harper to Livian's house for pre-homecoming game fun.
  • We got to the game around 630p and it was PACKED!  The game started at 7p and thankfully we found Maci in time to get us all in the gate.  Maci and Connor both had a blast hanging with their friends while Clint and I sat with our friends the Kuhn's.  Unfortunately, it was an UGLY game and we lost badly on our homecoming evening.
Pre Game Fun

Homecoming Game Fun!
Thanks to Parents who snapped these pics

I found her in a sea of kids HA

Great group of friends
Saturday
  • We had some rain in the morning, first time in a long time!
  • Maci had gymnastics at 11a.
  • The sun then came out around 1p and it was a gorgeous even warm day.
  • Connor had game 1 of his double header against the other Greenwood team at 3p - they won 16-0 which was ouchie against your buddies!  After Connor did some SOLID pitching, Maci and I had to run to the high school for her soccer game.
  • Maci's team did great and won 4-0 - she had an assist to Isla!  Natalie came to watch as did her former teammate Violet!
  • While we were at soccer, Connor's team lost a tough one with more ugly pitching.  I guess Connor came in as relief and did a great job getting them out of a bad situation!  His buddy Chuck even had the first home run - in the park!  Unfortunately not enough and they got their 2nd loss.
  • After such a busy late afternoon, none of us wanted to make it to the Church festival for the final hour or so but Connor did want to get to Medina days for the fireworks.  Maci on the other hand wanted to relax, eat Sushi and not hear the loud booms.  So Clint and Connor went while Maci and I hung back.
Maci is such a sweet girl to Connor’s friend Fletcher
He isn’t always “feeling” baseball and she gets him out there and having fun!

4-0 W & Cupcakes!

Love these Gals - Stella Maci and Natalie
Sunday:
  • Connor was up and at 'em early for day 2 and final day of travel basketball try outs.  He is pretty hopeful as he could tell he was scrimmaging with the "good kids" the entire time.  We will see but proud of him for 1) not complaining about getting up before 8a on a Sunday 2) trying his best!
  • I ran the kids to Target and 5 Guys for some quick errands and lunch while Clint was cutting the grass.
  • We are now watching football and getting stuff done around the house before Maci's 430p soccer game at the high school.
We hope you are also enjoying these final summer temps and the shift into fall!
Lots of Love,

First 5 Day Week of School, Lots of Sports & Awesome Weather!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - Rough day with one my new leaders but I have had tough clients before and I know I will flip him :) Wrapped the day with a CA closet estimate for Connor's closet - we are over the dresser from when they were babies!  I then hustled to get to Connor's flag football game before I picked up Maci from gymnastics.  She moved to Monday for the week b/c she has a soccer conflict on Saturday.
  • Tuesday - Clint had a massage in the afternoon, lucky!  I participated in my first Monthly Biz Review for Pharmacies which was great learning!  Then I spent the evening with my fav gal at her soccer practice.
  • Wednesday - Busy day followed by Clint and Connor head to flag football while Maci and I once again hang at some soccer practice.
  • Thursday - Thank goodness, I got some good working time to get things accomplished!  At night, Connor and Clint went to baseball practice while I took a facetime monthly call with Christie from the car at Maci's soccer practice.  We are planning our bi-annual gals trip, this time to AZ in Feb!
Friday:
  • Busy Friday schedule wise!
  • Wrapped the day a little before 4p and picked Maci up from Middle School so we could hustle off to St Paul for her 6p soccer game.
  • They did great with a nice 3-1 W.
  • We had a Kobe dinner as a family once back on this side of town.
  • Once home, Clint was catching up on college football while the rest of us chilled out.
Saturday:
  • Started the day with the Wayzata Girls Varsity game - Maci and a group of soccer buddies were the ball girls.  We had a crazy 11-0 W over Providence!
  • Maci and I then hustled from the high school to Greenwood for Connor's double header.  They did so great in game 1 with Connor doing some rock star pitching and a few good hits/walks too.  Then game two was a nail biter and due to some rough pitching on our end, we lost a close one.
  • We got the kids home and settled before leaving them (Maci can babysit for a few hours here and there now!) for a dinner at COV.  It was super nice to have that down time for the 2 of us before calling it for the night :)
Cutie Ball Girls
Maci, Livi, Isla, Anya, Mikah, Violet
Sunday:
  • Enjoyed donuts and lots of football prep/watching.
  • Maci had soccer practice around lunch and it was HOT!  Given they had a great game on Friday, they took it a bit easier.
  • We then headed to our dear friend's the Cassem's daughter Stella's U10 soccer game. They won 1-0 and we went to Dukes on 7 afterward for an early dinner, drinks and the Bengals Chiefs game.
  • We got home in time to see the heart breaking end to the Bengals game.
  • I spent the rest of the night getting all the things ready for the next week.
Lots of Love,

Back to School & Cooler Weather Fall Teaser!!!

Weekdays:
  • Monday - Labor Day!  We all slept in and then Clint and I got to enjoy coffee on the deck.  What a gorgeous day!  It was low 70s, sunny and just gorgeous.  Clint got a lot of yard work done while I got us all prepared for the week with laundry, bag packing etc.  I even got a run in, trying to get more movement!
  • Tuesday - Happy 1st day of school!  I started my routine of getting up a little before 6a and getting a run/walk in on the treadmill before the kids are up.  Connor was the first up and off with the elementary bus at 7a.  He seemed mixed emotions on Maci not being up and going with him.  He enjoyed the alone time but also kept asking, is she going to get up?  We took our pictures, said hi to bus driver Mike and then he was off.  Next up was Miss Maci getting ready for the big first day of Middle School.  She had me help her curl her hair a bit and then we were taking her pics before she was off at 830a.  Clint and I were so pumped for a quiet house and day to get work done at home.  I left around lunch time for a 1p Dentist cleaning and grabbed some food on the way home.  I didn’t have many afternoon meetings so I was able to greet Connor off his bus and then we did the same for Maci later in the afternoon.  They both had great days, were tired but excited!  Maci and I then headed to her soccer practice at Hopkins High School from 700-830p.

Rosie was so confused on where they all went 😓
  • Wednesday - Another morning of running, getting kids off to school and then this time I went back into the office myself as well.  In the evening, Connor had flag football practice with Clint while Maci and I headed to soccer practice yet again.  When Maci and I got home, Clint was doing his final fantasy draft with Kyle Duwel and friends.
Connor is enjoying his solo time with parents in the morning
Bubble Braids for Day 2
Day 2 Bus for Middle School
Molly 7th and Breck 8th didn’t have to go on Day 1 as it was only for 6th graders
  • Thursday - Another morning of routine for all of us :) Come night time, Connor had baseball practice with Clint and I once again was down in Hopkins with Maci for soccer practice.  Once home, Clint had a handful of neighbor guys over for a bourbon tasting and golden tee.  Maci and I said hi and then departed.  Maci got ready for bed and I had a 9p video chat with my former coworker and friend Row.  It was so great to catch up with her and have belly laughs!
Connor’s 3rd Grade Class
Friday :
  • We had our annual furnace tune up in the morning.
  • I had a sleep regroup after doing an overnight sleep study and they see no signs of apnea for me - wahoo!
  • I squeezed in a 430p nail appointment with Maci as she has been wanting a set of acrylic nails really bad.  They are cute with almond shape, not very long, French tips but in multi neon colors and with little flowers drawn on them.  I got mine updated too but just a nice dark red/purple color for fall.
  • Once done, we came home to eat and then head to the Fusion Academy 1 game with Charley to surprise and cheer on all of Maci’s former teammates.  It was a wonderful game with a great 4-0 W!  The girls were so surprised and happy to see their pals!
  • We went to Sunshine Factory with the Kuhn’s and Charley’s fam afterward for some late apps/beers.
Saturday :
  • What a busy but fun day!
  • We started the day with Maci’s soccer game.  She had to be at the high school by 8a.  We dropped her and then ran to McDonalds for some breakfast sandwiches, Target for some Starbucks and then to the car wash place to get my car cleaned post the Chicago drive.
  • We got back to the high school about 40 mins before the game start at 9a.
  • They had a GREAT game!  A big 6-0 W against St Croix and it was a gorgeous morning.
  • We ran home for Maci to change into her gymnastics gear for her first session of the school year - 11a.  I worked on things around the house while Clint ran her to and from.
  • I then headed to my massage at 1245p - I did not want to get off the table and just stay for a nap :)
  • But alas I had to hustle home as Connor had double header baseball games at 3p and 5p.
  • This is the first time they are doing kid pitch and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be!  We had some good pitching and our boys came out on top in both games!
  • We hurried home/changed and then were off to the Theis family (Livi’s family) house for a bonfire.  They are our neighbors but also Maci’s good pals.  They had over about 4 other families that also have middle school girls in Maci’s class as well as siblings Connor’s age.
  • It was a lot of fun but around 945p I hit a wall!  I was so tired after minimal sleep and not enough water after my massage.  We came home, kids and I went to bed and Clint joined the Hartys at their fire for a final bevi.

Sunday :
  • A far more relaxing day!
  • We had a slow moving morning of Laundry, picking up the house etc.
  • Maci had a soccer practice from 1215-145p - Clint ran her to and I picked her up.
  • I drove listening to the pathetic Bengals game.
  • While I watched the end of my horrid Bengals, Clint and Connor ran up to Hamel park with some buddies and dads to work on hitting - big shift to kid pitching vs a reliable machine :)
  • We watched football the rest of the day and got work and school week prep completed as well as grocery orders.
  • We are all getting our minds on right for a full week ahead!
We hope you are also enjoying this turn into school year and fall weather!

Last Week of Summer & Chicago Cup!

Weekdays:

  • Monday - I woke Connor with news of his 3rd grade teacher - Ms Hembre!!!!  Wahoooo!!!!!  That is who Maci had, we love her and he has some good buddies in his class.  Maci got picked up from her slumber party by our nanny around 9a.  Then they were off to a fun day at Mall of America for a day of Nickelodeon Universe and riding rides.  Crazy heat caused Connor’s flag football to be cancelled yet again in the evening.

  • Tuesday - Clint had a golf scramble in the morning with Brad, Shane and Brandon.  They came in 4th so just missed out on prizes but had a great time together.  Clint then ran Rosie to and from a grooming appointment in the afternoon.  I wrapped my busy day with a trip to St Paul for the ice cream social at equality (non profit I am on the board for).  It was great to see how well the community turned out for the event.  I had to roll around 8p to pick up Maci from her soccer practice.  She had another great night with her new team.
New TFE Team Gear Arrived!!
Thank you Grandma/Grandpa Gilroy for gifting us the bag!!
  • Wednesday - Kids and Grace hit up the Como Zoo.  I had another busy day at the office followed by an early departure for Connor’s elementary open house.  Maci was so excited to also go and say hi to her former teachers.  We wrapped and Clint/Connor were off to Flag Football practice.  While they headed that way, Maci and I got ready for soccer, picked up a to go dinner and headed to her practice field.  Their team scrimmaged the boys for the final 20 mins and dang are boys tough HA.  We lost 0-3 but 2 of the goals were SUPER lucky!
She Loves Flamingos!
  • Thursday - Grace’s last day with us!  I worked from home to celebrate the day with the kids.  Maci did an Infiniti class at 1p.  Then Grace left us around 330p after some cute little gift exchanges with Grace and the kids and vice versa.  Then Maci Connor and I were off to Urban Eve hair salon before the storms started for Maci’s back to school 4p haircut.  Clint and I stayed up until midnight watching football and getting work/to dos/laundry done before heading to Chicago the next day.
School Pictures are In!

We sweat hard when working hard

Hair Cut Fun
Before AND After
Friday:
  • Up and at ‘em around 8a and packed/on the road by 10a.
  • I got so much work done the first 3 hours of the trip WAHOO!
  • We stopped at the WI Dells for lunch at Buffalo Phil’s and I charged my iPad.
  • I then continued work and then some rest on the remaining of the trip while Connor played games and Maci watched her phone.
  • We rolled into Chicago around 530p.
  • We doordashed some Chipotle and then had a team meeting at 7p.
  • The girls had so much fun hanging out together.
Saturday:
  • Day 1 of games!  The players took a walk with their coach to talk about the weekend and have some time together at 9a
  • Then we were off to the field for our 11a game vs a Central IL team.  Dang did we come out looking great!  It was so back and forth with our team going up 1-0, then starting 2nd half by getting scored on 2x back to back, then we hit the tying goal and tacking on another so up 3-2 but then they tied it up and with just a minute or two left, they hit a 4th to Win the game.  Urgh, we played well but bugger that we let them steal the game as we were clearly the stronger team.
  • Oh well - off to BW3 for college football, beer and food OH plus AC b/c it was hot!
  • We then went back to the hotel for some quick cool down time.  I zonked for about 15 mins while the kids watched a movie.
  • We were then off to game 2 which was a HOT and Rough one!  We all looked so slow!!!!  We wont talk much more about this game as we lost 0-5 to a really strong IL team.
  • We came home for showers and cooling off before ordering pizza as a team.  After pizza, the girls did a team scavenger hunt and broke into 3 teams - it was a great way to have them get to know each other better and co-mingle.  Maci’s team won and they got some fun candy, nail polish etc.  Super cute!
  • The girls wrapped the night with some “Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza” card game.
Sunday:
  • I woke up at 6a and couldn’t sleep any longer so I headed down to the breakfast area, enjoyed some coffee and playing on my phone while the rest of the fam still zonked.
  • They all got up at 7a to get ready for our day, checking out of the hotel and heading to game 3.
  • We were out the hotel door around 830a to get to fields and be ready for our 950a game.
  • The girls came out ready to play again - for sure not game 2 issues.  We were dominating the entire half but couldn’t find the back of the net.
  • 2nd half we got an unlucky hand ball in the box and they hit their PK.
  • We kept pushing and got a great free kick/hand ball of our own but outside the box.  Annie put a beauty of a goal into the back of the net 1-1.  We kept pushing and firing but couldn’t get one in the back of the net and ended with a 1-1 tie.
  • Lots of momentum to build upon!!!  We took some team pics, drew an eye black mustache on their coach, bought a tshirt and were in the car to hit the road/grab some food.
  • I had agreed to set up a team instagram account and while doing so realized I should probably build one for Maci too as a lot of her teammates have them for housing highlights.  If you want to follow either - team is “TFE_girls_soccer_2013” and Maci’s own account is “Macimagoo_2013”
  • We should get home around 630p and are excited to have a good night sleep in our own beds and getting a few more things done tomorrow before the early alarms go off for the first day of school on Tuesday.
Love our gal #20
We hope you are enjoying this long weekend and the unofficial end of summer!
Lots of Love,
