This was our first day in Toledo. Clint went golfing with some of his friends : Bryan & Anthony while Maci & I did a little more fall/winter shopping (she is bound to love shopping like Mommy). After the golfing trip, we all met up at the Demko house for some swimming in their new in-ground pool. Maci girl just loves to swim and was in the pool for over an hour. We also got her to dunk her head under the water for the first time and NO tears. We are totally ready for our Foss Swim Lessons that start this Thursday - of course pics to follow! It was a great day visit with some good friends.
Friday, August 30th
We had a lazy Friday with Kathy & Jack Mondell. We went to breakfast together and then had some R&R. We took Maci into their pond and she thought sand was pretty cool until she got it in her eye. However, the pond didnt go over as well because we think the fish were biting on her toes in her floaty. We then had some cocktails outside on the back patio at night with their neighbor before heading to bed for some more driving in the morning.
Saturday, August 31st
YAY - Holiday weekend at Indian Lake! We first went to Wapakoneta to see my grandparents Peggy & Ted Gilroy! It was so great to see them and some other family that was in from out of town for other family outings. Maci had so much fun playing at their house for a few hours and visiting with others before we left to Bob Evans for lunch. Grandma, Grandpa, Clint, Maci and I went to Bob Evans around noon to meet my parents for a nice lunch and some more special visiting.
After lunch, we headed to the lake and got to spend quality time with my parents. I really enjoy being up there and getting so much time with people I dont see near enough anymore! We took a really long walk around the lake, colored in coloring books, shopped at Rite Aid :-) and watched a chick flick with just my mom, dad, Clint and I at night :) What a FUN start to the holiday weekend!
Sunday, September 1st
Labor Day Fun in the Sun! On Sunday lots of visitors made it up to the lake to hang out on the boat with us. My best friend Christie made the journey as well as my brother and nieces Sophie/Lorelai. My aunt Sue and Mike also came for the day. We spent the afternoon boating and swimming in the lake followed by a late lunch at the Moose after my dad dealt with incredible chop on the lake ;-)
After the boat, Christie and I played some super competitive Old Maid & Guess Who with my Nieces before the girls headed home as well as my aunt and Mike.
Christie, my parents, Clint, Maci and I then went to the Fryburg festival in middle of no where Fryburg :) On the way there, my dad had to make it interesting and cut off a cop which Clint then followed and we both were pulled over in separate cars. Fortunately, they were friendly cops and let us both off with warnings but my mom is now afraid of having ulcers from all the stress he causes her :)
After the festival, Christie headed home and we went to bed prepping for a 12 hour drive home the next day.
WHEW - I am exhausted but SMILING just recapping this busy but super fun trip home to Ohio. It was extra special having Maci in tow with us this time around and we look forward to many more OH visits in her lifetime. However, we are all now busy getting back into our routines and Maci girl was such a happy lady to be back at daycare with all her friends on Tuesday.
