Clint & I worked Mon-Wed so Maci did have some daycare fun before getting to spend a long weekend with mommy/daddy & grandma/grandpa Gilroy. For those of you that don't know, at the age of 30 I still have an obsession with my Kid Sister Doll. Clint wishes she would vanish one day but I love her. Look who also is starting to love the Kid Sister Doll =)
On Monday at daycare, they sent the following humorous photo. She is such a good eater but has been watching her dog Boomer a little too much lately. She has started to learn how to beg for food. After she had already had her lunch with her classmates, one of her teachers, Miss Mary, was having her lunch and Maci just kept tugging on her pant leg & smacking her lips - HAHA our own lil puppy :)
Finally it was holiday/vacation time! My parents got in around 5p on Wednesday. I had left work around 330p on Wed to get Maci, pick up the house a bit and prepare for their arrival. Once they got here we had a tour around the house for my dad (1st Minneapolis trip), some play time with Maci and a few cocktails. We also introduced them to Pizza Luce, YUM! We tucked in early on Wed night since they had a long drive, we had worked and we had the Beast to Feast 5k in the morning.
Thanksgiving Day! We started the day by walking a brisk 5k (19 degrees) around Lake Calhoun. Dad look lots of fun pictures if you have him on Facebook but I only had the following. It was a nice walk with only about 1/4 mile of horrible freezing wind. We all got medals and ended with smiles so all in all a good time.
Then it was time to warm up, change our clothes and start working on the turkey! We watched the end of the Macy's parade, the entire Westminster dog show and finally some football fun. Miss Maci wanted to show off her turkey outfit during a break in cooking.
Around 5p we were ready to eat our feast! We were excited to see how much fun Maci would have eating her food since she LOVES to eat. She did not disappoint. I would have to say her favorite was either yummy potatoes or pumpkin pie.
On Friday, the girls left the boys behind and went off for some fun shopping. We didn't do the crazy Turkey night or early morning shopping. However, we were out the door around 9a with our first stop being Maci's daycare so my mom could see her room and meet Miss Gabby. Maci was sleeping at the time but got excited once she realized she was in her room yet was quickly confused when we picked her right back up to leave =) Then we were off to Mall of America! I was shocked how easy it was to get into the parking garage etc - don't get me wrong still busy but I was ready for way worse! We made lots of great finds and I got almost my entire list done, minus online shopping, in one trip. We left the mall around 530p after Maci had 2 bottles, 2 naps and a lot of admirers! Oh and right before we left, we saw SANTA! His line was super short and the elf convinced us to give it a whirl. Look at how in awe she was of the magical man =)
Our Amazing Shopper
On Saturday my parents got ready to make their big drive back to OH but not before going to breakfast with us at Egg & I, one of our favorite places. After they left, Clint/Maci and I ran some much needed errands and had a relaxing college football night at home. Today we decided to get in the holiday spirit and pick up a new pre-lit Christmas tree/put up all our decor. It feels so festive in our home and it has been a nice comfy afternoon in our home enjoying football before prepping for another full work week. So far only one, non memorable, ornament has feel victim to Maci and the hard wood floor =)
Well I write this blog in the 3rd quarter of the Bengals game, I am hoping this distraction helps me to calm down haha - Miss Maci is even getting into the game!
Well only until she found a more interesting Christmas decoration :)
We wish everyone a great week back after hopefully equally wonderful Thanksgiving breaks! We are getting excited to see our Ohio friends/family over the Christmas holiday but until then. . .Lots of Love,
C, K & M
