Low Riding Lil Man
Maci had her first full week as a pre-schooler. She tells us on a regular basis that she is in that room now, very proud of herself! Early in the week she got to play in a little bit of snow which due to a warmer later part of the week is all melted and gone.
In addition, our funny lil gal started quoting Chris Carter on Monday night football countdown, while wearing princess clothes and playing with play dough of course. This kid sure makes us laugh!
A little later in the week the beloved Costume Kim showed up to school as Mrs Claus and now Maci talks about Santa's wife all the time :)
They have also started to work on a variety of winter/Christmas related art projects. Maci talked about the marshmallow art project quite a bit this week but kept telling us she ate her marshmallows - ummm yucky with paint and glue on them?!
Friday - I had some early morning meetings but come noon Clint and I left work to get some lunch before our belated 36 week appointment. After some yummy Potbelly sandwiches we headed to our Dr apt who was running 30 mins behind - ugh I have no patience when I am not pregnant let alone now! The Dr apt went well and she was a bit surprised by my swollen club feet :( However, my blood pressure is great and they aren't concerned of other issues. I guess that means a pedicure for this momma. We had the talk of what to do if I go into labor since we will be a C Section and we were given the "what to expect in the hospital" brochure - Ahhhh so close! After we finally got out of the doctor appointment, we headed home to do some work email for the remainder of the day and meet the chimney sweep so we can use the gas fireplace upstairs with confidence. Clint then ran to get Miss M while I took a quick nap on the couch. That night, Maci played independently and we watched the 2nd hunger games movie - yep we are way behind on movies!
Saturday - We dropped off the Pilot for a "check up" and headed to Lil Gym. Maci was so excited to see her pals since we didn't have gym Thanksgiving weekend. However, that excitement wore off when Maci and Natalie fought over the purple hula hoop - HA! After gym, the Zehrs and our family headed to Coopers for brunch while the Cassems had a neighborhood party to attend. Our family then ran errands until early in the afternoon. I took a late nap on the couch while Maci and Clint played in the basement. I finally came to around 5p and we headed out to get family pedicures. Since Clint likes to get the pedicure part (no paint) and I wanted one for my swollen feet, we decided to let Maci enjoy the kiddy pedicure/manicure chair. We may have created a diva because she LOVED it. She got to watch a cartoon and talk to a really nice lady the whole time. She actually sat still and never messed up a nail. She asked for purple and pink nails but they also added sparkles and she is soooooo into her nails! We grabbed some dinner on the way home and then enjoyed the many good college football games which were on TV.
Sunday - Since I was a big lug most of the day yesterday, we started the morning early with a bagel run and then the grocery for the week. We got home in time for me to pay some bills, finish Christmas online shopping and a few other house to dos before football began. The Bengals looked AWESOME today against a horrible Browns team! Clint's Dolphins pulled out a nail biter against the Ravens so both of us are happy today. Maci is napping since she stayed up a little too late last night. This evening we need to pack our hospital bags - seems we are just asking for it by not being prepared - and get ready for the work week ahead.
Just Playing with a Gift from SVO
This coming week means Maci's holiday party at daycare, our 37 week apt, Clint's security association's holiday happy hour, Disney on Ice Friday and Mommy/Me Christmas Party Saturday night! My goal would be for little guy to wait through this coming weekend and then it is a bit more fair game - I hope he listens to me a little more than our first child ;-)
We hope all of you are enjoying this holiday season!
Lots of Love,
C, K, M & Lil Man to be
