Happy Easter!!!

The week started with Connor turning the big 3 months!  There isn't a day that goes by that Clint and I don't comment on what a good baby he his, how blessed we are with such a laid back dude etc etc.  He truly is a joy and Maci adores him. . . we think the feeling may be mutual as he is starting to smile at her a lot :)  We are blessed!

The week continued with all of us getting use to our new routine between 2 kids at daycare and 2 parents at work.  On Tuesday the carpet was laid and our basement family room was finally put back together.  If it wasn't for a nicer grade carpet, you would never know the basement had gone through WWIII about 3 weeks ago.  Connor started to get some congestion thanks to the usual adjustment to daycare but hopefully he turns into Maci who has a solid immunity at this point!

Friday - One of Clint and my favorite days of the year. . . Good Friday!  Maci and Connor have daycare which we already pay for and Clint and I both have the day off work.  We took full advantage but moving fairly slow at getting the kiddos to school.  Thankfully we got Maci there just in time for her to have her french toast breakfast with her class.  Clint also got his fingerprint set up on the new system so very productive drop off.  We then enjoyed a bagel/coffee/diet coke in peace at the bagel shop.  We got home around 930a and went back to bed until 1130 - AHHHH I needed that!  We then got around and headed to Ridgedale Mall.  We did a little shopping for me (NOT kids) and enjoyed lunch at Bar Louie.  We ended our afternoon with pedicures before having to pack a swim bag and pick up the kiddos.  We had a fun evening too with 2nd week of swim lessons and pizza with the Cassems.  Maci is doing really well which makes me happy since she was a bit of a scaredy cat last year.  It helps having Natalie the fish in her class because peer pressure can do some amazing things :)  We had the Cassems to our house for pizza so they could see the finished basement.  Maci also introduced Natalie to the Wizard of Oz and Natalie was also mesmerized :)

Saturday - Easter Egg Hunt!!!  We skipped gym since the St Louis Park egg hunt was at 10a.  Our usual gym pals came to the egg hunt with us and we also ran into 2 neighborhood family friends - we love our hood!  Maci got to participate in the 3-5 year old grouping and while it was utter mayhem, she loved it and worked like a machine through the crowds - I was so proud, especially when she listened to many of my strategic suggestions!!  I think this may be my competitive kiddo :) HAHA

Once the hunt ended we were off to brunch followed by a lovely family early afternoon nap.  When Maci woke us up it was time to dye eggs - Yay!

Sunday - Happy Easter!  Maci was a great sleeper, we actually had to wake her up a little after 7a to ensure we had time to find baskets/eggs and get ready for mass/brunch.  Maci was so excited to check for what the bunny brought - have I mentioned how fun holidays are with kiddos?!

Once we finished playing with toys and finding that silly bunny's hidden eggs, we got all dolled up for mass.  Connor was attempting to sleep through his sibling picture :)  Maci is a champ and just keeps posing!

Yup this shows their personalities :)
Finally we were all ready and I could force the obligatory family photo by the mantel :)

After a crowded mass, we headed to Granite City for brunch which was super yummy.  We then spent the rest of the day chilling and enjoying one another.  We even watched Aladdin which was a bunny gift and I was shocked Clint had never seen it!!  I just got back from attempting to grocery shop - OOPs they are all closed tonight so guess that will be tomorrow night.  I should probably wrap up as one little lady needs to get going on bath and bed and a little man is quickly behind her.  We hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend and have a terrific week ahead!

1 Week Down!

I survived the first week of work!  It actually was a very easy week, almost too easy, like it is going to hit me over the head one day soon!!  I was fortunate to go back into all day meetings where I got to see many of my co-workers but didn't really get in the regular daily grind just yet.  I also was able to use these meetings as a way to attempt to get caught up on what I had missed the last 3 months.  The only struggle is going to be pumping because I am BAD at breaking away when it is time but something for me to work on going forward.

Pretty Flowers Sent By My Team for Day 1

In addition to my work experience, Connor had a great 1st week of daycare.  The teachers can't get over how often he has a certain facial expression, cry etc that will look like Maci.  However, by Friday they had already assessed that he is so much more chill than she was, even as an infant.  Maci wasn't a hard baby by any means but I agree that Connor's demeanor is just laid back and easy :)  Yay, great first week!

Maci also had a great week at school. . .

Happy Boy w. Crazy Hair!!

Clint also worked from home many days as all the dry wall, painting and trim was finished in the basement this week.  We received the Xcel Energy check to cover our costs.  Now we just have carpet redone this coming Tuesday and our basement will be back together in time for more NCAA madness and Easter weekend!  Maci sure misses her playroom right now!  I miss order and having all things in their place :) AGH!

Friday - I got out of work around 1p since my team told me to rest and recoup after a first week back.  It was lovely to get out of there and take a nap all ALONE from 130-330p.  I also had a great NCAA game on in the background.  We then had Maci's first night of swim lessons for the spring session.  We haven't done swimming lessons in probably about a year or more but I wanted her to be ready for water this summer and not to spend 1/2 the summer being a scaredy cat like last year.  Her friend Natalie is also taking lessons with her and this is a huge deal for them as this is the first lesson with NO mommy or daddy in the water.  It is so cute, they have their teacher Whitney and then only 3 kids in the class.  I told Maci her goal is to learn the other little girls name next week since it is obvious Maci and Natalie are pals.  Maci did great and while scared, she listened to her teacher and floated on her back while the teacher sang "Twinkle Twinkle."  After lessons were over, Maci was mad and wanted to get back in the pool - that should be a good sign!  We ended our evening by ordering pizza and hanging with the Cassem's at their house.

Saturday - Kicked the day off with gym class and brunch.  We then watched some basketball while Maci played around the house.  I headed out at 7 for girl's night with my mommy friends.  We went to the Latin restaurant Clint and I ate at for our last date night.  It was yummy once again and so great to catch up and laugh with mommas - especially those that understand and are experiencing the jerks that 3 year olds can be :)

Sunday - Church and bagels started our day.  Maci was so good with how long mass was thanks to Palm Sunday.  She loves watching the music and choir, especially when they "screaming" - AKA loud.  I have then ran a few errands while Clint hung some pictures for me around the house.  Maci is playing "teacher" right now and Clint/Connor are napping.  I am about to get into my Sunday night work week rhythm with packing daycare bags, filling bottles and preparing baths.  Here is hoping this next week is as successful!

We are excited for Easter next weekend and a day date since we get Good Friday off work and the kids can go to daycare.  Maci is going to compete in an Easter Egg hunt Saturday morning so we are going to play hooky from gym class.  ;-)

Have a great week ahead!
Lots of Love,
