Last Week of Maternity Leave

We started this last week of mom being on maternity leave by watching a family of 5 turkeys strutting around and backing up traffic outside our house on Monday morning :)

While I am excited to get back to work tomorrow and see all my co-workers, I made sure to savor every moment of this week.  Connor and I took lots of pictures, shared smiles and cuddles and of course enjoyed my favorite afternoon naps!  Connor and I even took a trip to his soon to be daycare on Thursday to drop off diapers, changes of clothes etc - makes it a few less things I need to carry on Monday.  I caught myself feeling a ok with him going there and me heading to work.  I think it helps to know Maci did well there and she is just down the hall from him.  Let's hope these feelings remain come Monday morning :)

Friday - We had our family fun day on Friday with Clint taking the day off and pulling Maci out of school.  We started the morning with a trip to the Children's Museum.  Maci had so much fun painting her own face, sliding on slides, playing pretend at a grocery etc.  Connor had fun sleeping & riding on mommy :)

After some lunch and a nap in the car on the way home, we then headed out to a huge park.  We had to enjoy the mid 60 degree weather!  Maci kept yelling "there is still more playground!!!"

Saturday - We started the day with our beloved gym and brunch.  Afterward we had to run just a few quick errands which included Maci/Clint getting haircuts.  I love Maci's hair but it was getting really knotty and kind of crazy long.  I love it even more now that it is healthy.  Needless to say she was a total diva and loved being at the salon.

We then got home in time to get pulled together for a co-worker's wedding downtown.  Miss Kaitlin came to watch the kiddos again and we were so excited to wear warmer wedding gear - yes still mid 60s wahoo!!  We had a good time catching up with some long term co-workers and getting out for some fun sans kiddos.

Sunday - Final day before work & we lose an hour of sleep!  We started the morning with church and  then it was a day to get all lose ends tied up.  Maci and I hit the grocery and while there scored some classic movies for $4 a pop.  Maci then watched the Wizard of Oz most of the way through before getting distracted by her princess dresses.  Her watching the movie allowed me to get lots of other Sunday activities completed like laundry, packing pump supplies, planning out our evening and morning routines etc.

Well I am off to check my remaining to do's off the list before getting to bed at a good time.  It feels like the first day of school tomorrow but I didn't get to buy new school supplies HA.  I just hope we can have peaceful mornings and my evening plans have allowed for us to not spin in stressful circles to get out the door.  Wish us all luck getting in our new rhythm!!

Lots of Love,
C, K, M & C
