We were so excited for pizza and trick or treating with our friends Monday night! We all left work at 4p and while mom got the kids, dad got the pizza order in - even though he sadly couldn't enjoy the pizza (iodine free diet started Monday). The big kids were so excited to get started with Trick or Treating. Maci and Harper were the best trick or treaters, rarely complaining and running house to house. The Cassem girls had a rough go this year with both being carried by the end with tears everywhere. We all crashed after the visitors left and Maci/I cleaned up after all the kiddos playing in her playroom and bedroom. What a fun Halloween - can't wait for next year!

Friday - This week wore me out! Even though I was exhausted, I needed a drink and good conversation more than anything. Around 4p I reached out to my girls to see who may be able to meet up for some dinner/drinks/shopping. Thank Goodness for Halston who was able to meet me up at the West End around 7p. Before heading out, I helped to put these cuties to bed and get Clint situated with some Friday night football. I then ran for the door for some girl time! Halston and I hit up a few stores, I got a few new sweaters for me and a sleep sack for my lil man. We then enjoyed Rojo queso dip, tacos and Margaritas WAHOO! I got home around 11p and was thanking Clint for taking the evening duty because I needed that :)Saturday - We started the day with everyone sleeping to 815a WAHOO and then to Maci's dance class. She loves her dance and was so excited to get measured for recital costumes :) After dance we headed home for some quick food, changing etc. We had no plans this weekend which was a welcomed change after the last few go go go Halloween weekends. Clint had received a 30% off friends and family coupon for Nike from a former co-worker who now lives in Portland and works at Nike HQ. We decided it was such a gorgeous day that we would head to the outlets, get him some new shoes with the coupon and enjoy some walking around. It was such a nice shopping trip! Connor chilled the whole time in the stroller and Maci was actually pretty good - she was able to get some treats (necklace, bracelet and makeup) at Claire's at the end b/c she was so good! Clint and I did a little damage to the checking account but got both of us some nice adds to the fall/winter wardrobe. Plus, since we headed out so early after dance, we were home by 130p. The kids took extended naps in the car and we got some laundry and errands completed around the house. We enjoyed college football and Clint started a fire outback with a few neighbors around 8p. I on the other hand enjoyed a bath, got the kids down for bed and finished folding my laundry with a cocktail in hand ;-) I was also in bed by 10p but with the time change that would only be 9p - ahhhh what a wonderful Saturday!!
Sunday - So our kids don't understand the wonders of falling back with time :( We were up by 645a or what use to be 745a . . . we shouldn't complain too much because it was still good sleep and we were able to get a jump start on the day. Everyone was dressed and Maci/I were off to the grocery by 9a. I am not even sure what to do with myself today :) It is only 12p, Bengals are on by and it is 70 degrees outside. We will likely lounge with football, take a family walk and then prep for the week ahead later in the evening. I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing Sunday like I have planned.
This week will be a bit odd. Clint takes his iodine pill on Wednesday so he will be out of our home Wed through Sunday. He is only across town but we will have to use Face Time and other technologies to converse with him so we don't expose any of us to the radioactive iodine in his system. The Dr says Clint won't even feel any different but it will likely feel odd being removed from contact with other people. I pray the kids stay healthy, cheerful and well mannered while I manage the house solo the majority of the week and next weekend. Clint and I are both so glad to be at what should be the final stage in this "blimp" in our lives. As we approach this Thanksgiving season, we realize how thankful we are for our family, friends and health. While we have had a few hiccups this year, they have proven to be that, a brief hiccup in our ever blessed lives!
Lots of Love,
C, K, M & C
