OSU Girls Weekend

Silliness During the Steelers Game Last Week
We had a pretty quick week with both of us having some global colleagues in town which meant happy hours, dinners and long days.  The kiddos enjoyed preparations for Halloween at school.  We were all excited when we made it to Friday!  I had the day off and was heading to Columbus for "Gilroy Girls Weekend!"  The kids got to have a Daddy weekend solo :)

Friday - I flew out at 1p and got to have a slow quiet morning with Bravo TV and some packing.  Before I knew it, it was time to head to the airport and take off.  I had a very smooth flight and took a brief nap on the way out.  My mom met me at the airport and we were off to our hotel for the weekend.  Shortly after arriving, my sister Meghan also made it from Cincinnati.  My sister Molly had to finish an exam so we headed to a Mexican restaurant for our dinner and some early Margaritas - Yummy!
After dinner, we grabbed all our stuff and took an uber to Molly's house.  We had fun meeting her roomies and then heading to the Frat haunted house which only my Mom and Molly went through :)  Yes Meghan and I were chickens who sat on her Sorority's house while they were inside!

We then headed back to Molly's to get ready for Halloween party fun.  We had a few cocktails at her house and then headed to some bars so that we weren't too early at the parties.  We enjoyed some dancing and cheap beer and decided to call it a night around midnight and saw Molly back out to her parties before we hopped in an uber to the hotel.  It was such a fun night and people were amazed by "how much you guys all look alike!"  My mom one "best sport" for walking around as Dorothy haha!

Saturday - We woke to my dad calling at 730a (SERIOUSLY?!)  After lots of coffee, we started getting ready for game day.  It was snowy outside (YUCK!) so it took a while to bundle up and get out to my sisters.  We decided to get a brunch since it was a 330 game and wasted almost 1.5 hours at the worst Bob Evan's ever before getting up and leaving to Wildflower Cafe - yum, much better option!  We then quickly headed back to Molly's and headed to "Block" also known as Frat tailgate parties.  More cheap beer but good laughs meeting many of her guy friends and the current "dude."

While we tailgated - Maci had costume day at Dance
As many left to the game and we were heading to a bar to watch, Meghan decided to part ways to take a nap and then head to Cincinnati (1 down).  After saying bye to Meghan, Molly, my mom and I were off to Ugly Tuna for the game.  Honestly it may have been one of the most amazing games I have watched and in such an unreal atmosphere.  We were standing the entire game and the place went nuts on that 4th quarter come back!  So Fun!

Connor had a slightly different dinner

We no longer needed a nap around 7p because the game was such an adrenaline rush.  We went back to Molly's and ate our dinner while hearing stories from her one roomie that rushed the field.  After finishing food, my mom came down from her adrenaline rush and asked if we would be mad if she hung in that night (2 down).  I flew all this way so of course I was going to go back out.  Molly, her 1 roommate Brie and I were off to Midway for drinks and dancing.  We ended up staying there the whole night where many of her friends met up and we danced the night away - I was proud of how many songs I knew :)  Her friends were great and I had a lot of laughs with my baby sister.  I was also proud that I cold keep up without falling all over the place or feeling like hell the next day.

Sunday - Alarm went off at 8a so we had time to do breakfast before getting to the airport at 11a for my flight (so I guess I wasn't getting sleep this weekend!)  I felt fine but was EXHAUSTED!  We ended up going to McDonald's b/c we were getting way too close on time and the Buckeye donut place we walked to had a line down the street.  The food helped wake me up a bit and then we said our goodbyes.  Molly was off to a nap and then her soccer game while my mom was heading to meet my dad at the lake.  So much or getting anything done on the flight because I slept the entire flight HA but I needed a fun weekend like this where I didn't worry about email, schedules or to do lists and was carefree :)  I loved my college days and it was fun to relieve my youth but was happy to get home to my kiddos and Clint!  After getting home at half time, I was also excited to watch the Bengals get an UGLY win!
The rest of the day has been cleaning the house, running lots of laundry, paying bills etc.  I am slowly falling asleep sitting up so I see this being a potential 8p bed time.  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and have a productive week ahead.

Lots of Love,

1st Trick or Treating Fun, Power Outage & Football Sunday!

Maci's Sunday School Project from Last Week
Monday - Maci had skating in the evening and Clint took her since it seems he has had to miss almost the entire session.  I hung with Connor and learned after they got home that Maci is going to do advanced snow plow again in the winter but is making great progress!
Pretending to be a Baby
Tuesday - After dinner we had a realtor over for a discussion.  We liked him and think we may go with him when we are ready to list our home in the February/March timing.  He not only has great ideas on how to list/market our home but he also clearly gets the type of house we are wanting next.

It was a warm week but good luck tell Connor that when he wants to wear his hat outside :)

Wednesday -  Clint took Connor to Lil Gym (similar reasons he took Maci to skating).  After they got home and Connor went to bed, I got on a video chat with my high school girl friends - always great to catch up with those ladies!
Funny Toddlers Laying on the Ground

Thursday - Clint got home a little later than usual due to a training program up in Stillwater.  Once home, we had some dinner before I headed out for a late happy hour with my Cargill pals - Jason and Megan.  Always a good time catching up with those 2 - can't believe Megan is going to be out with baby #2 any day now. . . .I will likely talk to no one for a few weeks forgetting she isn't on the other side of the wall from me :)

Friday - I worked from home and it was a GORGEOUS Friday.  I had such a productive day both on the work and personal front.  I got laundry complete, groceries ordered/delivered, kindergarten call for M etc.  We also were able to talk to St Louis Park to switch our Westwood Trick O Treat fun to Friday night vs our current tickets which were for Saturday.  You see on Friday it was sunny and 77 for a high and on Saturday it was going to be 64 for a high but RAIN!  Thankfully they let us make the switch so I picked up the kids around 5p while Clint picked up pizza.  We were on the 3rd bus to the fun and Maci reminded me about 5 times how this was the best night ever!

Saturday - No dance this week due to MEA (a state wide teacher in service Thurs/Fri so many people make it a family getaway weekend).  Instead we had a slow moving morning, ran some errands and ate lunch at Pub 819.  We came home for naps and quiet time.  Clint and I settled in with our delivery dinner, cocktails and football when all the sudden a POP and the power went out for the whole block - UGH!  We had an awesome video chat with Andy and Brandi Green and no sooner did we hang up about 1.5 hours later that the power was back on.  Pardon how gross we look but we were so excited for light and TV to be back :)
Sunday - No Sunday school either due to MEA.  It was my turn to get up with the kids so M and I started watching the New Beauty and the Beast around 715a and by the time it was over at 930a neither daddy nor Connor were up yet!  We went up to wake daddy and in minutes we heard Connor. Clint and I quickly threw on some clothes and the kiddos left in PJs to get donuts!

Such a Pretty Face with So Much Attitude!
We got home and daddy started cutting the grass while I painted M's nails and took Connor man outside to play.  C was LOVING the leaves and running all over the yard without sissy telling him what to do - she was enjoying an iPad inside.

Now we are watching the Dolphins/Jets game and getting prepared for my afternoon Bengals vs Steelers game.  Before my game, I have to do a little work prep for some facilitation I am doing tomorrow that I ran out of time for on Friday.  Let's hope my game is worth getting everything done for ahead of time and if not, well I will just go to bed early HAHA

We have a busy week ahead with Clint's global security team in town for meetings and happy hour/dinners and I am tied up facilitating much of the Finance Global Process team meetings also this week in Minneapolis.  This week will feel like it flies since I am only in the office Mon-Thurs and then head to Columbus for Gilroy Girls weekend at OSU on Friday!!!!  YAY can't wait!

We hope you have a wonderful fall week ahead.

Vacation Day & Daddy to ND

Monday - What a fun family day off of work and school!  We hit up the Crayola Color Wonder World at Mall of America.  Connor took a little tumble down a slide at the indoor playground but that wasn't stopping their fun.  After Crayola, we had some lunch and then headed home for some late naps and a little work email clean up.

After naps, we grabbed Noodles & Co for dinner before I took M to her weekly ice skating lesson - so fun!

Tuesday & Wednesday were busy days for me with off site org design meetings for work.  On Tuesday, I had a team dinner after work and Clint sent this super sweet picture of a tired Connor man.
Clint headed to ND for work on Wednesday so I was single parenting it again for the rest of the week (can you tell I am ready for some of these trips to slow down a bit!)  M was really good at Connor's gym class on Wednesday evening and on Thursday the kids were super excited for their special "wear days."  Maci got to wear her favorite character and went with Jasmine and Connor was to wear his favorite jacket so we went with the camo vest :)
Friday - Mr C man was super demanding Friday morning and required his breakfast on top of my dresser - HA  Clint got back in town around noon and I had a super busy Friday in the office.  That Friday night, I brought the kids home, we ate pizza and then I paid bills/worked almost all Friday night but at least I got some stuff done - the list just never stops :)
Costume Kim came to school on Friday!

Saturday - A busy but productive and fun Saturday.  We started the day with our usual dance class.  Afterward, we ran to Target for a birthday present, haircuts for both kiddos and Lunds grocery trip for some snacks for the evening party.  We wrapped up all the errands with a lunch at Lunds - yummy.  We came home for some naps and then headed to the Verplank's for their Oktoberfest party.  The kids had a blast playing with ~20 other kiddos as well as "new" toys being at someone else's house.  We left around 730p as Connor started to get sleepy.  I was also exhausted and was probably sound asleep by 9p. . . my body needed some rest!
Big Girl Haircut
Sunday - Sunday school and mass to start our Sunday.  Clint and Connor then headed home for football while I took M to her pal Khloe's 5th birthday party - indoor pool party!  Maci and I were there from 12-2p while Clint made wild rice soup, received the delivery grocery order and put Connor down for nap.  We just enjoyed watching the Dolphins win a tight game and thankful for a Bengals bye week :)  It is a gorgeous fall day which makes it feel like the perfect weather to cozy up and enjoy some warm soup.

We hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!
