COVID19 - Week 15 at Home - Happy Birthday Grandpa & Mom!

We had a fairly normal summer week with awesome weather, plenty of working from the deck time, lots of park and walk time and sweaty/sticky faces 🌞 You got to love Summer!!!

Friday
  • Happy 90th Birthday Grandpa!!!
  • Liz had the day off since her family was heading to a cabin so Clint and I took turns keeping our crew entertained while also getting some work done.
  • After work wrapped for the day, we took a family walk, played some driveway baseball, checked out the new dock in our 'hood
  • We also enjoyed some Famous Dave's BBQ for dinner
  • I was ready to crash and had a fairly early evening after kiddos went to bed!
New Neighborhood Dock Fun

Saturday
  • Hot Summer Day!
  • We got up and headed to Clint's haircut, made a pedicure apt for Sunday and then headed on for Bagels before hauling out to WI for firework purchasing for the upcoming 4th of July fun!
  • After our long adventure to WI (1.5 hours) we came home to order groceries and swim at the Harty's
  • After swimming we decided to try our hand at a restaurant for the first time since COVID - Rojo's patio - the latest dinner time we could get was 345p HAHA so thankfully we hadn't really had a lunch so we were good to go and were excited to get out of the house
  • We stopped for some ice cream on the way home and then had some quiet time
  • Around 8p we started a fire on top of our hill and let the kids enjoy s'mores before putting them to bed and welcoming the Kavanuagh's and Jonas' (Harty's are camping for the weekend) for some adult beverages and conversation
  • Before we knew it, it was 1245a and we all went rolling home to our beds - fun time for all!
Family Selfie Heading into Cherry Berry
Sunday :
  • Happy Birthday Mom!
  • Started the day by cleaning my closet/drawers and the kids before having some breakfast and then taking M to the nail salon for pedicures
  • After our fun mom/daughter outing, we spoke to Grandma for her birthday and then welcomed the Brubachers over for a catch up on our deck for a few hours
  • Now that they have left, we are enjoying a late lunch and I may do some work prep before a family dinner and snowcones.
Getting her gel polish finished
We hope everyone is surviving and finding ways to enjoy summer, even if different than in the past.

Lots of Love,

COVID-19 - Week 14 at Home - Happy Father's Day!

Monday :

  • Our family wrapped up Sunday by swimming and eating BW3 with the Harty's
  • Clint and I ended up playing bags with the Harty's post kiddo bedtime which then turned into late night cocktails and an after dark swim.  We finally hit the hay around midnight and while it was a blast - I paid for it all Monday!
  • I went to bed early with a headache and Clint took a power nap in the middle of the day - good reminders that we are "OLD" 😔
  • Also soccer decision was delayed for another week Urgh!
Tuesday :
  • I woke up feeling like a new woman and the weather is just amazing but HOT!
  • I had a busy day as my work decided to honor Juneteenth on Friday but that meant we had to figure out payroll and communicate etc.  I love watching teams come together in a tight pinch to get the job done for the right reasons!!
  • Tena and I walked and Nate and Clint walked in the SUPER hot evening weather
Cool Temporary Hair Fun Thanks to Liz

Wednesday :
  • Another busy but good day!
  • Kids are having a blast eating lunch at the park with Liz
  • In the evening, Clint had Nate over for golden tee
Thursday :
  • Clint and I did a late night walk with a beer since the Harty's left to Kansas City to visit family today so we didn't have our usual Thursday night hot tub party
Friday :
  • I basically had the day off but had a lot of work to get caught up on so I worked on the deck with only 2 phone calls all day!!!!
  • Liz and the kids took their McDonald's lunch to the park
  • I got a lot of my prep for the week done and only have a few employee reviews to complete heading into the weekend
  • I wrapped up around 430p as Natalie was coming over for a slumber party with M!!!
  • We had a busy Friday night with these ladies : Noodles and Co dinner, Snow Cones 🍧 for dessert, walk to the big park, swimming at the Harty's (so nice to let us do that while they are gone), hot tub dip, jammies and Alice in Wonderland movie 🍿- I was pooped by 10p when they finally headed to Ms room and crashed but they were so cute and Connor was really struggling by being the tag along little brother 😆
Cool guys at the Park
Natalie and M wanted a picture so then Connor says
"Well Mom, can we take a picture?!"
This one loves to go swimming
Hot Tub Fun
This Pic kills me - Connor is hitting his limit on being the 3rd wheel 😂
Movie Time and Connor was allowed to stay for a bit

Saturday :
  • Lazy Saturday!!!!

Farewell hugs and I spy a brother again HA
 Pull Ups at the Playground

Sunday :
  • Happy Father's Day!!!!!

  • I need to complete those employee reviews but then enjoy the rest of the day!
  • I sure hope all the dads and dad like figures are having a super great day b/c you all deserve it!

Lots of Love,

Sunday :

  • I woke up to a text from Tena asking if we were trying to burn the neighborhood down 😂 🔥
  • I explained that I can not be held guilty as I was in bed but to blame Clint and the boys - her and their friends saw everything since they too had their own (slightly more controlled) fire in a pit by their pool - love our hood!
  • Once again got some stuff done inside and outside - already have my work prep done, hamster clean, laundry finished and it is only 2p WAHOOO!!!!
  • Clint is mowing lawn, Harty's are saying bye to company, I am enjoying a 75 degree day in the shade while doing the blog and thinking what else I may do today

COVID19 - Week 12 at Home

Monday -

  • M had her final reading group w. Mrs Ronning (they enjoyed donuts and scavenger hunt) and then she had her final 1:1 with Mrs Sheldon - man did we LOVE her 1st grade teacher!!!
  • It was a super sad day for so many on my team and in the company - many live in cities where they couldn't sleep at night given fires exploding outside and others are POC themselves or are married to POC and this is bringing visibility to their darkest fears.  It was an emotional day with all of us crying on our leadership call and then committing to do better and lift each other up!
  • The kids enjoyed a hot day by swimming with Liz in the Harty pool
Summer Books Arrived from our Scholastics Order

Tuesday -
  • I had really gotten into run/walks first thing in the morning this week - such a great start to the day!
  • Kids enjoyed a dip in our kiddie pool in the backyard while the Harty's had a friend come visit for the first time in forever
  • Clint took M to another dentist apt at 4p - had to get sealants put on
She 💕 the Dentist
Found him like this post a conference call
When he says he wants a movie in the basement it equals nap 😂

Wednesday -
  •  A day of slip and sliding at Clara's for the kiddos
Huge Turtles laying eggs all around our neighborhood lake

Thursday -
  • Last Day of School for M!
  • We made it, e-learning was an interesting way to wrap up but we did it!  Now the kiddos have to do 30 mins of reading a day and 2 pages of worksheets from their summer bridge workbooks oh and no fighting and clean up your messes in order to get a cotton ball each day - 🤞 this work!
  • We hot tubbed after Tena/my walk and Nate/Clint walk - enjoyed a cocktail and then hit the hay

Friday -
  • I had a pretty light schedule today b/c at one time I was gonna be on PTO - pre-COVID we had planned on the Demko family coming to visit the Twin Cities so when I freed up the day, I didn't get too many meetings - Wahoo!!!
  • I worked outside during the afternoon which was lovely!  I enjoyed a beer around 330p as Clint left to play 18 holes of golf
  • The kids and I went to Culvers for dinner but the line was INSANE so we switched to Wendys and tried to make frosties as exciting 😀
  • We ate dinner outside, played with the Harty's post dinner and then headed in for bed
  • Clint got home around 830p and got put on bedtime duty ASAP
Morning Walk/Run - Caught a Turtle laying eggs
Neighborhood Birthday for Molly / End of School Year Piñata

Saturday -
  • We have been on a stretch of just awesome weather!
  • Connor and Clint left at 9a (almost overslept) for Connor's FINALLY haircut and then came home with 🥯 bagels
  • Kids and I started the day by taking a walk/bike ride and stopping at the park for some monkey bars - Connor now does them all, he has grown so much!!!
  • Clint finished the mulch laying and we all played around the house
  • I took a late nap and when we got up we all went to the Harty's for some swimming
  • Around 5p some rain moved in so we went to pick up River Inn to go, ate and then we were all ready to crash - just worn out!!!
  • I was probably asleep by 8p HAHA 🤣
Bless you Barbers!
 When did they grow up?!
Oh Yea - We bought a snowmobile!!
The Christenson's are moving to Oregon so we took this off their hands along with 4 helmets ❄️

Sunday -
  • Another beauty outside as I write this from the deck!
  • I am going to go on a run walk soon and Clint is planning to cut the grass
  • We just booked a camping trip to Kamp Dels for July - not quite the same as WI Dells but we need to get creative this year
  • We even printed off a 2020 kids summer bucket list of things we are going to try to do in lieu of a "normal" summer
  • I need to do some work prep later today but for now enjoying the great weather ☀️, just a little windy 🌬
We hope you are all enjoying the start to summer, even if a little different than usual.
Lots of Love,
C, K, M & C
