6th Annual Cabin Trip!!

Monday :
  • Jam packed Monday which wrapped up by watching Maci's soccer practice
Tuesday :
  • Clint headed into the office
  • Clint had a happy hour after work so I wrapped a little early so I could get the kids from their program and hustle Connor over to his t-ball game, last one since we are out of town Th/Fri but he is going to do the late summer/fall session too which will also have some coach pitch, yay!
Not the Best Team Pic but Connor sure Loved It!

Wednesday :
  • I went into the office this time
  • After work I came home for some brats and then we were off to Maci's soccer game - she played so flipping good!  She had 3 goals, one was insane!  She almost had a 4th but it hit the cross bar.  She is such a little hustler and gets so many compliments from parents and grandparents as she leaves the field.  This is much appreciated as Maci wishes more family were close by and able to attend her games like some of the other kids have.
Thursday :
  • 1st PTO day for Clint and me + kids are out of their program as we prepare for our annual cabin weekend!
  • We can't check in until 3p so we had the morning to get some work emails out, have a call with our financial advisor, run some laundry and pack - thankfully I made a packing list last weekend which helped more than I thought it would!
  • Around 3p we were on the road to meet the Cassem's and Zehr's at a Mexican restaurant a few minutes from the cabin - the food was great but the kids were a titch nutty, thankfully we beat their rush and got to cabin pretty quickly!
  • All the families got unpacked, started to crack some cold ones and the kids were in water all within minutes of arriving.
Maci had Clint take this pic then sends it to me with this caption "put it on the gram"

Friday :
  • BOAT DAY!!!
  • We got to the boat by about 10a and didn't check it back in until 630p - it was a warm and sunny 88 degrees and all had a great time!
  • We wrapped our boat adventure at a local restaurant on the water and then were back to the cabin for more swimming, snacks and drinks.  An early bedtime for many of us though as we were wiped!

Saturday :
  • Boys went golfing at 8a and the mommas held down the fort
  • Jacey and Gena went for a run and then Halston and I swapped for a nice long walk
  • Unfortunately the weather was a lot cooler and overcast but that didn't stop the kids from painting rocks, playing many many rounds of tag and even some swimming.
  • We grilled burgers, potatoes and beans for dinner and after getting the kids down played many rounds of a card game called 31 - super fun, lots of laughs and too many drinks with good pals!

Sunday :
  • Pack up day
  • We all get up and get rolling as everyone loves the trip but you miss your own bed, shower, space, floors without sand etc.  By about 930a we were all on the road but not before we took several pictures and gave many hugs!!  Love this annual tradition with friends who have become family!  Year 6 in the books!
They did so great with no electronics until Sunday pack up and this is what we find HAHA

Happy Father's Day!

Monday :

  • Jack and Kathy were here to watch the kiddos as we had another day pre-summer camp
  • I had a crazy busy and just disappointing work day followed by a 6p dentist apt - YAY 👎
  • After the dentist, I met up with Clint, his parents and the kids at Maci's soccer practice, at least it was a beautiful evening!
Tuesday
  • Another day of grandparent daycare but fortunately a better day on the work front
  • We all headed to Connor's 515p t-ball game where he showed off for his additional fans
  • Afterward we all headed to Portillo's for dinner
So Little
Wednesday :
  • First day of the kids summer program at Northwoods through the school district
  • I ran them in and then headed to the Optum offices for the day
  • Clint also went into the office and Jack/Kathy were on the road back to Ohio mid morning
  • We wrapped the day with some brats followed by Maci's soccer game - she is so freaking talented, I am likely biased but still!
Thursday :
  • Another day working from home followed by another early t-ball game for Connor, he sure does love baseball!
Got to be ready!
Friday :
  • Rally was closed for the holiday of Juneteenth but I took a quick morning call and used the day to get some work done from the deck
  • Later in the afternoon, I had a monthly massage which was much needed given some of the work stress with integration etc.
  • I picked up the kids from camp after the massage and we grabbed dad before heading to Lord Fletchers on the lake for dinner
  • We talked with the neighbors for a bit, went in to put kids to bed and I zonked - Clint on the other hand joined the Harty's and Herness' for some bags
BFF
Saturday :
  • Lots of random to dos around the house and ordered groceries for the upcoming cabin trip
  • Clint helped the Harty's lay mulch now that their landscaping was redone this past week
  • We rested up and then headed out on the town for date night with my co-worker/friend Katie and her husband Mychal - we enjoyed cocktails down by lake Minnetonka followed by dinner at Gianni's steak house - YUM!!
Pic Overload Coming
Connor and the Sitter, Kaitlin, had a fun photo shoot outside - So Cute!

Maci's way of getting ready for bed, schoolwork HA
Sunday :
  • I felt a bit rough all day thanks to said wine at dinner the night before but Happy Father's Day so I rallied!! 😁
  • The kids gave Clint their cards in the morning and he got a Ryobi light for all sorts of all purpose jobs
  • He started to install a new light fixture in the office which took way too long and caused the kids to lose their minds given the internet was down during this
  • We finally called that quits and enjoyed the rest of our afternoon and prepared to go to our neighbor's house - Marek was on Connor's flag football team - for Father's Day dinner
  • We enjoyed filets, corn, rib tips, asparagus, rolls etc YUM
  • I finally had a cocktail at dinner and once we got home we all crashed from a fun but exhausting weekend!!
Love these dads!
We hope you had a great Father's Day weekend and got to spend time with loved ones.
Lots of Love,
