Hot Town, Summer in the City!

Tuesday :

  • I went into the Optum offices for quarterly business reviews and got to enjoy a dinner outside on a patio with about 6 co-workers, the first time doing this in almost 2 years!!!  So nice!
  • Clint was solo dad at a 515p t-ball game where Connor did a great job and then they ate dinner out afterward
Wednesday :
  • Another day at Optum offices but for some reason this day was just blah all day long and it caused me to get in a real funk which sucked
  • Maci had a soccer game that night and hustled like a rock star, she is so aggressive, scored a great goal and afterward asked if the games couldnt be longer HAHA!
  • I was supposed to have a video chat with my high school gal pals but again see blah day and work that had to get done that night so I missed it - BOO!

Playing Bus so they can Practice for Kindergarten Next Year
Thursday :
  • Woke up and decided it was going to be a better day!  Great news, it was!
  • Connor had another t-ball game at 645p and once again he rocked BUT he somehow lost his team baseball hat so we will be on the look out for that this coming Tuesday night
Pickles are Life
We randomly decided to make our pickle roll ups on a Thurs night
Friday :
  • Clint took the day off to take everything out of our master closet and tear down all the racking for the install to finally occur Mon/Tues
  • After morning meetings, Clint and I headed to a showroom to look at faucets to change out our kitchen sink faucet
  • We got home in time for the contractor to show up at 3p
  • I then headed out for happy hour with my former co-worker/friend Brenda
  • Clint ran the kids to noodles for dinner
  • Once home, Connor and I ran up to Target to pick out a gift for his first ever friend's birthday party!

No Paint Yet and No CA Closet Install Yet
Saturday :
  • So it had been hot all week but today was a doozy - 101 degrees!
  • Clint had to do a quick thing for work in the morning and I got stuff done around the house/Target run for Maci to have a white tank top to tie dye on Monday at school, how do I never remember this stuff when I was just there last night!
  • At 11a, Connor and I took off for the park behind our house for his pal Hendrix's 6th birthday party, so HOT!  Clint and Maci hung back to stay cool and Clint painted the closet walls and trim so they look fresh with the new install
  • Connor had so much fun at the party with water balloons, piñata, playing on the playground, pizza/water/cake etc.  We headed back home around 1p and got ready for a pool afternoon with the Harty's
  • We all swam as it was a HOT one!  Like feet burning on sidewalk hot!
  • Around 445p we had to take off to get showers and head to our friend Erin and Mark Shepherd's house for a family dinner/drinks night.
  • We showed almost 30 mins late, typical but we had a great time!  Awesome steaks and corn for the adults along with too much wine and the kids dined on pigs in a blanket & cheese bread - which Maci now wants me to find!  We realized it was maybe a bit too fun when we found Connor and their son Henry asleep on the couch at 1030p.  Ooops!  Time to go!
  • Both kids crashed on the way home in the car and slept in their clothes!
They really do live the life
This is them chilling on a Saturday morning watching something on a phone together
Heading up the hill in our backyard all ready for the big Birthday party
I think they were tired and ready to go - Whoops!
Sunday :
  • Another hot one but a bit more breeze!
  • The kids slept until about 930a and I was in bed until 9a, ahhh much needed sleep!
  • Clint ran to get breakfast while I got groceries ordered and wrapped some laundry.
  • Then it was time for Connor's final flag football game at 12p.  He played so great!  He had a huge breakthrough run for a touchdown and pulled like 3 flags.  By far his best game and Clint laughs while calling him Eli Manning b/c he shows no emotion.  After his big touchdown, he just walks back over to the coach and his teammates, no celebration, cheering, nothing HA!  He got his medal and we were off!
  • We did a quick library run as I want to ensure both kids keep reading during the summer.  Then we grabbed a late lunch before heading home.
  • The kids played in a kiddie pool in the backyard and did water balloons to cool off before Maci had to head to her Soccer conditioning/training at 4p
  • Connor and I hung at home and he had a ball picking up the water balloon pieces while I finished laundry and put away groceries.
  • After a quick dinner, I got some work prep done while Clint mowed lawn, Maci hung on electronics and Connor threw a ball to himself outside
  • Now the kids are down for the night and Clint and I are about to do a famous "Mondell walk" which means coffee in the AM but booze in the PM 😆
The best Giant player in my heart
Clint kept telling him how proud he was of him - so cute!

We are excited for the last week of school this week which means parties, theme days, Kona Ice truck and bus on the last day (Thursday) for Maci!  Nanny and Grandpa Mondell get here on Wednesday and will help with our gap in child care between school ending and Wayzata kids starting up next Wednesday.  We are excited to see them and have them enjoy these 90 degree temps with us HA

Wishing you all an awesome start to summer!
Lots of Love,
C, K, M & C
