STILL Hot Town, Summer in the City + Nanny/Grandpa Visit

Monday :

  • Was supposed to be day one of our closet install but they didn't show b/c guy called in sick - Boo!
  • Maci had soccer practice and did a great job hustling!
Tuesday :
  • Connor got to have his pre-K grad party at school today but without any parents or guests
  • Closet people finally showed around noon so Clint helped to keep an eye on the project and ensure they finished by about 630p
  • I took Connor to his t-ball game at 515p where we were melting - thankfully they only played 2 innings

Wednesday :
  • We stayed up super late the night before working and putting our closet back together before the Mondell's come for a visit since most of our clothes were in the guest bedroom
  • The kids had Kona Ice truck at school which I took them to at pick up but Maci all the sudden doesn't like ice balls so Connor wanted seconds
  • Maci had a soccer game where she hustled like no other, scored the game winning goal and asked afterward if it could go another 1 hour - HA and we were dying of heat on the sideline!

Thursday :
  • Last day of school!!!
  • Maci took the bus home and all the parents decided to fill water guns and water balloons to pelt the kids when they got off the bus.
  • Maci was crying after the bus ride because "she isn't ready for this great year to be over"
  • She got over it quickly when she had ice cream and swimming fun with her neighbor pals
  • Clint went and got Connor early so he could join in on the swimming fun!
  • The Mondell's arrived from Ohio around 530p and we all headed to Sunshine for dinner!
  • We had a quick social chat with the neighbors after getting home and then called it a night.

Friday :
  • I had, for once, a really light day of meetings!  Thankfully, because the kids were all over us - we are going to have to figure out a different strategy for Mon/Tues until Wayzata Kids summer program begins!
  • First thing in the morning, I took the kids to their 6 month dentist apt and thankfully, no cavities!
  • I met my co-worker Julie for lunch at Oak Eatry and then headed out around 430p for happy hour with my former colleagues Lisa and Jean.  Clint was going to take a run as I left but saw the ice cream truck and knew the kids would want in on that.
  • Clint and his parents enjoyed burgers and asparagus for dinner and I rejoined the group around 930o after a lovely evening out with some long term pals who I had not seen in a long time!
Saturday :
  • Clint and I got up and got a lot done around the house including a walk, some laundry, weeding, grocery ordering etc.
  • We headed to Connor's pre-K party at a park with his dad around 2p
  • Once home, we did some quick kid swim at the Harty's before heading to River Inn for dinner
  • After dinner, kids went to bed while the adults + Harty's + Ben had cocktails and played bags!

Sunday :
  • Clint got up in order to fix a toilet and then cut the grass while I ran to get donuts.
  • I wrapped up some to dos around the house and then went shopping with Tena for a dress for an upcoming girls trip
  • We got home a little after lunch and then got everyone ready for a swimming afternoon!
  • The kids stayed cool, the adults had drinks and snacks and it was a great time for all!!
  • Once we wrapped, Clint and is dad are now off to get some pizzas.  Katy is working, I am updating this blog and Maci/Connor are resting after a hot day at the pool.
  • The kids are excited to have a few days home with Nanny and Grandpa before starting Wayzata Kids on Wednesday.
We hope you are all finding ways to beat the heat!
Lots of Love,
C, K, M & C
