Weekdays:
- Monday - We had 2 more days with our sub nanny, Tori. Maci also had day 1 of her soccer elite camp which she says was a lot of fun! Maci’s team had to fit in many games from rain outs earlier in the season so it was a soccer packed week, we aren’t complaining! We headed to Lakeville which is quite the haul - 45-60 mins depending on traffic. However, we got to play them at 7p which made for lighter traffic. The team wasn’t super strong and we were able to pull off a 6-0 W!
- Tuesday - The Harty’s left on an Alaskan cruise so Maci has a little job of taking care of their cat Cashew. Then Tori came and had a busy day of driving for these kids. Connor is doing some open gym basketball practices throughout the summer so he had that from 800a-930a. Then Maci had her day 2 of elite soccer camp from 900-1130a. Maci got home for some lunch and then was off to Baking Camp from 1-4p with her neighbor pals Livi and Harper. She said it was so fun to make cupcakes, cake pops and dipped pretzels. I had a super quick happy hour to congratulate my current leader on a new job in the company - lots of changes but I think this will all be just fine. Connor then had baseball practice while I got home in time to run Maci to her game. They played our rivals Tonka and after a hard fought battle with our team dominating the majority of the game, it ended in a 0-0 tie. We will get them next time for sure!
- Wednesday - So we thought our Nanny Grace was back from vacation but dates got mixed up so we were sans help for the rest of the week. Thankfully Clint could make it work today and I could work from home to help out on Thursday. Connor did another day of basketball open gym. Then Maci had day 3 of the soccer camp. Once home, we ate and headed to another soccer game - this time Maci was subbing for the top team. They had a great 3-1 W with Maci scoring a beauty of a goal thanks to a cross by McKenzie - Maci was where she needed to be and hit it one touch, cleanly into the back of the goal!!!! Go Girl!
- Thursday - Tag team driving all day for us in between meetings! I ran Connor to his morning basketball. Clint picked him up and dropped off Maci for final day of soccer camp. Then I picked up Maci. Thankfully Livi’s mom hauled them to the 2nd day of baking camp and I picked them all up around 4p. We got home and all changed for the evening then were off to Connor’s baseball scrimmage - they killed it! Then we were all heading to Maci’s 4th game of the week :) This time we played at home against MN Thunder - a team we beat 1-0 the first time. This time M didn’t get a goal BUT we did beat them 5-0! The girls were passing so well, talking and Maci even had a nice save when she had to do her turn at goalie. The WON 1st place in the league thanks to this W! We went undefeated with a 8-0-2 Record and only allowed 2 goals all season, that is without a full time goalie! So gosh darn proud of them! On the way home, we did a quick target run for groceries to take to CABIN WEEKEND!!!!
Baking Fun!
#1 in the league
Friday :
- Clint and I both took the day off. We slept in until about 9a then started to pack. I dealt with a few quick work things. We really focused on packing and were on the road by about 1p.
- Detroit Lakes is about a 3 hour drive for us. We had a nice drive and about half way decided we were too hungry so made a Subway stop for a late lunch.
- When we got to the hotel/cabin it was nice weather and we were able to get unpacked.
- Shortly after unpacking, the Cassems made it (Natalie’s family)
- We caught up a bit and they unpacked before we all headed to Zorbas to meet the Fikes and get pizza dinner
- The food was great and margaritas were cold!
- We came back home and the kids hung in our room while the adults played games and chatted in the Fikes room.
- We called it around 1130p for day 2
Reunited and it feels so good!

Saturday :
- We all woke up around 9a to a chilly cold day - BOO! It was only a high of about 64 all day.
- We ate breakfast, took the girls on a walk (freezing)! We swam at the indoor pool and the girls made bracelets etc.
- We took some late morning naps and then headed to a late lunch at Pub 41 - thankfully the sun came out and we got the boat around 330p.
- We putted around on the lake and the boys (Connor and Emmitt) were crazy enough to jump off the bridge into that freezing water. They wrapped up in blankets while we ate dinner at Long Bridge.
- We headed back and did s’mores and a fire outside until we all called it.

Sunday :
- Thank goodness for better weather! It only got up to the low 70s but it was sunny all day and not a cloud in the sky!
- We were out on the boat by about 11a and we tubed, boated, swam all day long.
- We did long boat for lunch with the kids all jumping from the bridge more times than we can count!
- We dropped the kids off after lunch and Connor/Emmitt went kayak fishing. Maci, Natalie and Stella did paddle boarding and Maci was quite impressive - no surprise, kid is strong!
- While they did these activities, Vinny and Clint played corn hole and us moms putted around on the lake with Ryan as our captain :)
- We got back with about 2 hours before dinner so we had some chill time.
- Dinner was at Fireside supper club and it was so gosh darn good - even if the kitchen took a while.
- Another wonderful cabin weekend with dear friends, sad to see us heading home the next day!
