Holy Cow - Miss M is Almost One!

I am so far behind but I guess that will happen when you don't have your better half around and a sick kid!  First and foremost, Clint is back!!!!  He safely landed back in MN around noon on Tuesday.

Maci was pretty much not herself with the nasty cold up until about last Saturday morning.  Her and I ran some errands and the most exciting errand was ordering her First Birthday Cake!!!  I will share pictures next weekend but it is going to be awesome :)  We then headed to my friend Lisa's house where Maci attended her first friend birthday party!!  Brody turned one at the end of December and the Sodahl family moved into a new home so Saturday was a joint birthday/housewarming party!  Maci had so much fun and was back to herself : running around, talking loudly, pushing around the boys and playing with all the new fun toys.  =)

Then on Sunday Maci woke up and was "MY KID AGAIN!"  All day we played, laughed and just had a fun day at home with mommy and baby girl!  Yay, it made the wrap up to the weekend so sweet!

Maci continues to get exposed to the transition classroom at school which she will fully join on Jan 27th.  She just loves playing with the bigger kids since she is making it quite clear that she is no longer a baby :(  She even got to play outside in the snow one day!

So Clint got home on Tuesday and I was so happy to have all three of us back home under one roof!  Maci was finally feeling better UNTIL. . . Wed night when she started waking up a ton and being super drooly and crabby!  We have decided the molars are on their way in =(  Poor girl was a mess on Wednesday and Thursday (even after having a blast at swimming)!  Thankfully Tylenol and some all natural Hyland's tablets seem to have helped with the pain and she was finally a happy girl again on Friday!

Which her happiness was just in time for a long awaited Mommy/Daddy night out!  We have been planning for weeks to go out with the mommy/me friends with just the parents - NO KIDS!  Over the year, we have become quite close with many of the adults and we all wanted to go out with no diaper bags, cutting other people's food or crying!  Ali one of our favorite sitters came over and watched both Maci and Natalie (Maci's swim friend) at our house and we were off to dinner & drinks!  We even stayed out until midnight - WOAH haha!  It was such a great time and I couldn't help but become a bit sentimental looking around the table and feeling so blessed that these women were all put in my life after moving to a new city and embarking on a new life as a MOM ;-)

Saturday was all about finalizing Miss M's big First Birthday bash!  I can NOT believe that she is already one - I mean seriously where did the year go?!  When did she start walking, laughing, having pig tails?!  Ahhh so sentimental this weekend ;-)  As sentimental I get about her being one, I also get so excited thinking about all the future years we will have with her and to continue watching this wonderful budding (ok full blown) personality!  Since our Ohio family/friends can't make the party, we plan to share lots of pics through this blog after party time next week.  We have some seriously fun plans for this week!

• Thursday is the actual birthday.  Maci gets to play with friends at daycare followed by swimming class/dinner with Natalie
• Friday Clint and I are taking the day off and taking Maci to the St Paul children's museum followed by cleaning our house for guests
• Saturday - PARTY TIME . . . see you at 1p =)
• Sunday - First Birthday Pictures 
• Monday - First birthday check up and her FIRST full day in the new classroom!

We will leave you for the week with this wonderful face!  She was quite excited about her new bath tub mat.  Have a great week and feel free to ring Miss M to tell her Happy Birthday on Thursday!!!
