Maci's Birthday Weekend 2014 - Volume 1

What a crazy fun but exhausting weekend we just had!  I am not sure if this year was more exhausting or this time last year - HAHA  However, we sure are happy to be in this situation with a happy little one year old vs last year laying in a hospital bed with a jaundice baby and staples in my abdomen =)

I will break Maci's First Birthday madness into 4 Volumes because we did have that much fun!

Volume 1 - Thursday January 23rd - The REAL Birthday

Volume 2 - Friday Mondell Family Day

Volume 3 - Saturday Morning First Day at Little Gym

Volume 4 - Saturday Afternoon BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!!

So without further a due - Volume 1

Maci was having a good week at daycare but has been consistently getting more and more clingy to mommy.  After an entire year of me saying "Maci has never been clingy"  "Maci doesn't even care if I am around" well I jinxed myself because she still does fine at daycare but if she sees me and is tired, hungry or just plain irritable, all she wants to do is be held by MOMMY!  Ugh. . . on Tuesday I had to be into work for a 7a meeting so Clint took Maci for me.  I am pretty sure you can tell her feelings about this situation basis the following picture.

Later that day she was being a total goof ball and they sent the following pictures after she got the #10 stuck to her bum!  What a goofy lil lady =)

Ok so we make it through the rest of a typical low key work week until the BIG DAY FINALLY ARRIVED. . . . MACI'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!  Maci needed to get the memo that it was her birthday because she was probably her most diva with the fussy pouts on this day!  Oh and in addition to a little pouting while I sang Happy Birthday, I was about to leave to work when we realized the darn POLAR VORTEX had taken its latest victim, my car!  So that was a fun morning with Clint and I jumping one car and then deciding to just ride together.  However, it worked out great because then we could go to daycare as a family and pick her up together for swimming as a family too!

We wrapped up the big Birthday with our usual Thursday activity - Swim Lessons!  Our good friends Ryan/Jacey/Natalie went to our regular dinner afterward to but this one was in honor of Miss M!  Natalie turns 1 in two weeks so we will be doing the same for her before we know it :-)

Oh and we were so excited that Maci got her first picture text for her Birthday - thanks Brody for my cutie picture message!!!  Maci has older men texting her =)  he is a whole month older!
