GORGEOUS SATURDAY IN FEBRUARY!

We started the week off with Connor's 2 month check up.  He is a healthy, strong and solid 11 lbs 12 oz and 23 inches in length.  That puts him right over the 50th percentile for kiddos his age.  We believe he has some mild acid reflux so we are putting a few thin books under his mattress to help him sleep at a slight incline at night.  Thankfully after a week of doing so it seems to be helping :)
Clint had a quick trip to Wichita and back again on Tuesday which meant I got to be pick up and drop off parent.  Thankfully no bad weather this time so he was home just a little after dinner time.  Connor and I headed to yet another Dr apt for me on Wed (attempting to get all my regular appointments in before maternity leave ends).  It was weird to be getting out of the house so much in a week :)  On Thursday, Connor and I headed into the other Cargill office where the majority of my co-workers are located.  It was so nice to see so many people I haven't spoken to in a while and to show them my buddy!  We were there about an hour before lunch and then hung out until almost 3p - we promised a lot of visits :)

Friday - The weather was sunny and fairly warm!  Connor and I got some good morning snoozin in before heading to our neighbor's house around 2p.  They had little Cam on February 1st and they already have Nora who is 6 months younger than Maci.  We dropped off a gift and got to see the little cutie during a nice quiet down time for both of us.  Both of our girls still go to their daycare and the hubbies are at work.  Maci and Clint got home at a good time and we headed right out on a family walk - can't wait for spring!  After dinner we headed out to Culvers for dinner and ice cream.

Saturday - AHHHH Almost 60 Degrees!  We loved this day!  We started off by heading to gym class followed by our beloved brunch.

After brunch we hurried to pack up the diaper bag, stroller etc and headed to Lake Calhoun for a nice long walk and playground time for Miss M.  What a wonderful day!

After we got home, Maci zonked in the car for a bit while Clint and I completed some to dos around the house.  We also bathed both kiddos before Clint headed out for a guys night with several neighborhood guy friends.  I got to watch some Friends on Netflix and hang with the kiddos while Clint went to an indoor golf simulation and then back to John's house for some quarter gambling, darts and well drinking.  Clint intended to get home around midnight but when Connor stirred for a moment around 2a, I realized no Clint.  He arrived home a few moments later. . . it is going to be a rough morning for him!  I proceeded to get up with Connor for his feeding at 530a.  Miss M decided to be a total jerk and then came out of her room at 630a.  I sent Clint downstairs with her.  I am fairly sure he slept most of the time with her since she wandered into my room asking for Mickey on TV at one point.  I can't complain too much because Connor and I got to sleep and then the whole family moved a little slow to get ready for the day.  Unfortunately today was rainy and much colder than our lovely Saturday.  We finally got around to bagels and grocery trip.  By the time we got home it was time to take Clint to the airport.  He has another short trip with this one being Missouri and we pick him back up tomorrow night.  Thankfully Maci took a great nap today for me and I have been able to get some to dos off the list.  I am currently wrapping up the night with the Oscars, sans Clint complaining about how boring it is :)

This coming week marks my 2nd to last week of maternity leave.  I have mixed emotions about this coming to an end.  I really miss having work to stimulate my mind, regular adult conversation, routine etc but I also know I will miss all the cuddles with Connor and the slow pace of leave (at times).  In addition, my grandpa gets to come back home tomorrow from hip surgery so I took these cutie pics of the kiddos to make sure he knows how happy we all are that he is coming home!

We hope you have a great week ahead!

Party of 4!

Monday was a great way to start the week with Clint being home with us (Yay President's Day!!)  Maci went to daycare with me so Clint could experience the joy of going back to bed from 7-10a.  I joined him and Connor after dropping her off and then we had a productive afternoon and yummy lunch!  Such a fun day together and I know Clint enjoyed a long weekend!

The house was a little more lonely on Tuesday with everyone back to work and daycare.

Connor and I enjoyed a nice quiet Tuesday and Wednesday.  These days still fly and I am not really sure what we accomplish other than a lot of cuddling.  However, I will take the cuddles since I know this time is fleeting and he will be the size of Maci in no time . . . she only cuddles with me when very tired or sick :(

We tried a few new recipes this week since we had more time on Monday to plan them out.  Maci LOVED the way her stuffed pepper looked but didn't eat as well as the picture may make you think!
Thursday was a fun day with a close friend from work and colleague, Megan, coming over for lunch and catch up with Connor and me.  Her little sweetie is turning 6 months old and Connor is turning 2 months - Where is time going?!

Maci also had some fun at daycare this week with the theme having something to do with dinosaurs.

Friday - Connor and I got out of the house for the first time since Monday.  I took advantage of my remaining maternity leave and fit in a few annual checkups.  He and I were off to the dermatologist in the afternoon to have all my moles checked (all looks good!)  Afterward we got home for a quick feeding and then prepared for Maci's friend Tanyn's birthday party.  Clint picked us up around 5p, we grabbed Maci at daycare and then dropped by the Williston indoor treehouse for the party fun!  It was so cute to see Maci and her daycare pals hamming it up together.  Maci had such a great time and of course didn't want to leave at 745p, let alone to leave for bed.

Saturday - What a busy but fun Saturday!  We had a warm up here which meant we hit a high of low 40s for the day - we will take it.  We headed to the usual gym and brunch but then took advantage of the nice day and enjoyed the zoo for the afternoon.  Maci is so into the animals at this age and asks a ton of questions around every bend.  Connor slept like a champ :)

When we got home around 430p it was still so nice out that we enjoyed a walk with the entire family of 4.  While out we ran into some neighbors and were able to enjoy the rest of the walk with them.  We all can't wait for Spring and Summer!  We wrapped up the evening picking up some dinner and then bathing both kiddos - What a fun Saturday!!!

Sunday - We started the day with church and some bagels.  Maci was so good this Sunday - even the older lady behind us commented on it - Wahoo Maci!  Afterward I started some to dos around the house and then ran errands, including grocery.  There were some huge sales on shoes at Target so Maci was super excited when I came home with some new spring shoes, including Easter shoes!  Once I got done putting away the groceries and shoes, our neighbors Jake and Margaret came by to visit and meet Mr Connor.  They are due with their first this May and we just love watching our neighborhood grow.  Now I am working on a really long to do list and dealing with a super hyper toddler and crying baby.  I am sad the weekend is over too!

Oh and 2nd child problems, I forgot to mention Connor turned 2 months today!  I need to take his 2 month pictures still tonight. . .add that to the list and will post them next week.  I am looking forward to the week ahead with my little buddy.  I only have 3 left and while I am excited to get back to adult conversation and routine, I know I will miss him as my 24/7 companion so we are just taking it as slow as we can.

Lots of Love,
