Week of the Young Child

This was a fun and busy week at daycare since they were celebrating the week of the young child.  This meant each day had a theme for the kiddos and I may have had more fun with this theme than the kiddos :)

Monday - 80s day!  Maci wasn't really sure what this meant but she loved that I crimped her hair, she got to wear blue eyeshadow and leg warmers :)  Connor was not a fan of the mousse in his hair.

Tuesday - Western Day - Maci was so excited to wear this dress but unfortunately we got the call that she was throwing up only a few hours after dropping her off.  I spent my day with my sad little cow girl.  Fortunately by 3p she was bouncing around the house asking when daddy/Connor would get home because I was boring doing work :)

 My Tuesday Morning Western Crew!
Found her sleeping on the floor after a conference call ended :-(
Wednesday was wear your favorite costume.  Maci was Elsa and Connor had a Mickey shirt.  I didn't remember to take a picture because we had to get to Connor's 6 month respiratory check.  All is still going as planned and we have a game plan now to get us through to next late fall/early winter!

Thursday - Each class was to wear a color.  Connor's room was Orange and Maci's was blue.  Sadly Maci didn't head to school and Clint stayed home with her since she was complaining about her tummy again.  Thankfully she never got sick but was very low key for Clint all day while he worked at home.

Friday - PJ DAY!  Again, forgot to take a picture but Maci LOVES whenever they have PJ day.  She wore her sleeping beauty PJs and her new robe (which we have to remember to get from her locker on Monday - oops mommy moment!)  Finally all kiddos seem to be feeling themselves again.  Clint and I also high fived on making it through a fairly busy week.  I worked quite a few evenings which I need to not do again because we were all dragging by the end of the week.  We had our usual pizza dinner and then watched the NFL draft with wine until crashing.

Saturday - We did the usual dance class followed by week 2 of t-ball.  Maci had a blast at both which was a good thing because it was only about 50 degrees at t-ball.  While it was sunny it was also windy and quite chilly.  We then came home for family naps and a lazy afternoon of laundry, TV etc.  Clint picked him and I up some Punch salads for dinner after getting the kids down.  We all headed up for bed around 9p and I crashed before watching any further TV - we needed rest this weekend!

Sunday - We surprised the kids with a trip to YO YO Donuts for breakfast.  These kids sure love themselves some donuts!

Afterward we ran the weekly grocery errand and then headed home for more lazy time.  Connor started coughing a bit today so he is currently napping with some Tylenol.  M is playing dress up all while Clint and I are cozied up in the living room watching a documentary on the 80s.

We are resting up to have a successful week ahead.  All four of us are in town the entire week and Maci has her Dance pictures the later part of the week.  We hope you all have a great week ahead!

Amazing Weather All Weekend Long!

Like last week we had rain throughout much of the week but then had GORGEOUS weather all weekend long!  We will take it!  Clint headed to Sidney, OH for 2 days this week with work and I had a late Wed happy hour with Jason and Megan (former and current co-workers).  That was a great mid week pick me up and helped roll through the rest of the week and into weekend fun.

Friday - It was such a beautiful day!  I couldn't wait to bust out of work and pick up the kiddos.  We ate our usual pizza and then took a nice family walk.  Maci rode her big girl bike (2 wheel bike with training wheels) and Connor chilled in the stroller.  We then played a bit more and watched a very interesting Dateline special on Lacey Peterson (how was that 15 years ago?!)

Saturday - What a busy but fun day!  We started with Maci's dance class.  This was an important class because we learned how to do her hair and makeup for the recital in early June.  Maci is loving her dance and we have pictures, dress rehearsal all coming up - busy spring!  We then quickly changed her in the bathroom and off to her first t-ball practice.  The city has a 3 week long practice for 4 years old so she will get to do this the next 3 weeks.  Clint was in his element with her and can't wait to start practicing more in the backyard.  Maci loved the 1st half of the hour which included laps,  stretches/jumping jacks, tossing back and forth.  The second half for her was hitting (LOVED) but then fielding.  Maci decided to take off her glove and stand there kicking the dirt.  We are hoping if Clint plays with her a bit this week she will be more prepared and excited about the whole hour next week.  Oh and she was one of 3 girls but for the first 5 mins she was the only girl.  I have never noticed Maci realize things like this but she got really timid and wanted to know why she was doing a boy thing - we had to explain that she is a strong girl and can do anything boys want to do.  Thankfully she saw the kids running bases and went right out on her own :)

We ate a quick lunch and came home for Connor's nap and Clint to cut the grass.  While Clint cut the grass, Maci wanted to ride her bike again so she and I took another walk.  We then had to get around to our next fun activity - a scavenger hunt at our local nature center.  A LOT OF WALKING this weekend!  We made it a whole 1 hour and 15 mins and then came back in time to meet some of the animals again.

We got home around 445p and needed to quickly get ready for date night with Trip and Lori!  YAY!  We had such a great time seeing their finished new house, eating at Chino Latino and bar hoping in Uptown.  Clint and I got home at 2a which is CRAZY late for us but was such a great time!  We are just paying for it a bit today :)
Great Friends!

Sunday - Other than feeling a little rough/tired, we got up and moving and out the door by 930a.  It was another great day and we promised the kids a trip to the zoo.  We started with some yummy bagels, a quick trip to Trip/Lori's to pick up Clint's sunglasses and then off to the zoo.  What a gorgeous day and the kids were in such great moods!

We got home for some afternoon quiet time for M and nap for Connor.  I was off to the grocery and was attempting to wrap up laundry.  Now we are doing the usual prep for the week ahead.  Clint is going to make some dinner on the grill and hopefully we will all have early bed times :)

Have a great week ahead!
