Pierced Ears!

Monday

  • Worked from home
  • Kitchen cabinets/banister made progress
  • Electric Dog Fence Installed - Oh but it wasn't actually turned on by the company so we attempted to train Boomer for 4 days before realizing he wasn't being shocked - we thought he was a SLOW learner 🤣
Tuesday
  • Clint started painting the basement walls
  • Kids went with me to SVO (former now retired boss' house) for happy hour
  • Blew a tire on the way home
  • Clint came to save us and didnt get home until 1a - Thanks roadside assistance that took from 10p to 1220a to arrive 🙄
Wednesday
  • Nice afternoon reconnecting with my European colleague
  • Late Night texts from work never make me smile - rough start heading into a Thursday

Thursday
  • Some days leaders be crazy - job security since I fix their mess but gives me gray hair
  • Hair appointments after work make up for crappy office days
Sure hope this is the only way my kiddos interact with the police!

Friday
  • Amazing what a better day you can have when you change your outlook!  TGIF doesn't hurt!
  • Clint started painting the basement immediately after work and I brought the kiddos home with yummy carry out - salads for those over 30 and mac n cheese for those 5 and under
  • I just love awesome weathered summer weekends!
  • Adult Evening = 5 Rounds of Pool on New Pool Table, Photo Hunt & Hot Tub + Cocktails!
Saturday
  • Connor Soccer in the Morning
  • Errands and a Trip to Ridgedale Mall while Banister Guy made more progress
  • Spontaneous Claire's Visit Turned into Pierced Ears for Miss M - Brave Sister!
  • Date Night with Trip & Lori is always a good time, especially when I get Benihana dinner
  • Drunk Clint is like having a 10 year old boy in tow 🙃

Sunday
  • Heart Ultrasound for M in the morning - soccer program offered discounted price - she shows NO signs of any structural heart issues - knowledge is power - too many kids having cardiac arrest and heart challenges without early detection!
  • Basement painting almost done by Clint!!
  • Bill Paying, Bonus Money Moving and all sorts of other calendar planning done by me
  • Long nap for C & lots of art, pretend and movie for M
Wrapping up the weekend with the last of the household errands today.  Excited to have chandelier hung tomorrow and kitchen/banister complete on Tuesday!  It is starting to really feel/look like our vision!!!!  Cant wait for the Labor Day Party!!

Lots of Love,

10 Year Wedding Anniversary!!!

We had a short week thanks to our 10 year wedding anniversary!  As of Wednesday I still had no clue what Clint and I were going to do with our 2 days off but I didnt care b/c I needed the break!  Work has been non stop insane busy and I was getting irritable.  Read on to understand what a wonderful surprise/trip Clint had in store!
Monday Arts and Crafts
 Monday Zoo Fun @ School

 Tuesday Preschool Picnic Outside
More Arts and Crafts for C Man Tuesday
Tuesday - That night we had to unload all of our kitchen drawers because our kitchen cabinets started their rehab on Wednesday.  Keep this in mind when you appreciate the surprise later in the week.

Wednesday - I worked until about 8p UGH!  However, I knew I wanted to ENJOY all 4 days and not worry about work.  I asked Clint if he could pick up the kids and he said "umm maybe - I am not sure what time I will be done picking up a surprise for the anniversary"  At that moment, I am thinking make it work I have to get this done.  Long story short he says you know I think I got it you won't want to work if you come home etc.  Well that is because when I got home my MOM WAS THERE!!  AAAKKK!!!!   Surprise for sure!  She came to watch the kids b/c Clint and I were off for a few days to The Madden's on Gull Lake for some spa package and R&R.  YAY!!!!  Now I am mad I missed out on a few hours with my momma but really glad work is in order :)

Thursday - We get up, take the kids to school, write lists for my mom and leave her with the contractors (UGH remember the cabinet + banister work underway!)  She takes the kids to McD for dinner since she cant use the kitchen at all (bad timing but she rocks and rolls with it).  We settle into our digs for the few days, take a NAP and then head to a filet dinner.  Happy 10 years to us!!!  So nice to have a good meal with this guy.  We then bounce around to a few bars on the property before calling it a night.

 Sucking at Selfies
Wish My New Selfie Stick Already Came from Prime Days HAHA!
Friday - Ahhhmazing day!  So we slept until 9a (YES 9) then headed to breakfast on the grounds followed by SPA DAY!  A 1 hour couples massage with cold stones for my tired eyes.  Followed by a manicure and pedicure (1.5 hours).  I bought some of the nail polish colors that I and well Maci would enjoy and then we were off for a late lunch.  We ate at some Mexican place which wasn't that great but again we were alone and it was quiet :)  After that we headed back to the room for ANOTHER NAP before heading for a walk, pizza/salad dinner and more bars.  My poor mother was dealing with construction, Connor crying about monsters and a beeping smoke alarm (she kept a smile the whole time!)

 Grandma's Dinner Dates at Culver's
Yep - Connor made her let him wear a snow vest HAHA

 More Crappy Selfies but RESTED!

Saturday - Time to come back to my mom and kiddos!  We ate some breakfast and packed up a hour before required check out at 11a.  I was missing my babes and feeling for my mom living in our construction zone house.  We got back around lunch and grabbed some potbelly sandwiches before making an escape to the pool with the kiddos and momma in tow.  This allowed the contractor to get some work done at the house while we were out of the way.  It also allowed all of us to get out of a dusty, paint crap every wear house.  After the pool we did dinner at Oak Eatery, a quick walk and then adult cocktails with photo hunt on our new basement toy!!

Sunday - We all woke up around 730a to get started on the much needed yard work.  My mom loves to do yard work and well we put that love to the test with our well landscaped designed but not kept up yard.  We trimmed, mulched, raked, cursed :)  The yard looks 100 times better and we got so much done with 3 adults attacking it.  By 12 my mom stopped to shower and then I took her with the kids to the airport around 1p.  Both kids were saying "umm where did Grandma go, why she leaving?!"  She will be back very soon and with Grandpa!  We are loving this retired grandma thing!

After Grandma left, we wrapped up the day with some pool time with our new inflatable pool and then some much needed bubble baths!

 Love These Faces!
 Yay Selfie Stick Came!
We were so exhausted from such a fun long weekend that we all crashed last night and I never got to the blog GASP!  We hope you all are having as much fun this summer with loved ones!

Lots of Love,
