Work/School Week : Not much to report. I was busy wrapping up the compensation process, Clint was busy wrapping up reports from his recent travel and the kids were busy figuring out which red/white/blue outfits to wear. No soccer this week because of the holiday and lots of Summer Heat!
4th Holiday : Unfortunately this was a bit of a wash out for us in the Twin Cities. However that allowed for a lazy day of movies, naps and some much needed R&R. By evening the skies cleared, Clint took the kids to the neighborhood park while I reconciled compensation totals yet again. By the time they were home, we ate and then did sparklers until firework time. We weren't sure what we would see from our house and with work/school the next day we decided not to head to see any so late at night. Fortunately we learned that our deck and side yard has a perfect view of the Medina Country Club show. Unfortunately, we didn't have near enough bug spray and the impromptu watching in the side yard left all of us with bug bites up and down our legs/arms OUCH!

Friday - I worked from home so I was able to get a lot of work and laundry done during the day. Kids came home and we enjoyed pizza on the back deck. It was such a gorgeous day that we loaded C man in the stroller, M got on her bike (that girl is insane good now, even is asking for a bigger bike next year!) and Clint and I walked through the entire subdivision. Such a good walk and then ended the night with cocktails in the hot tub - yes, please!

Saturday - Clint started errands early in the day and got back just in time to head to Connor's 2nd soccer practice. He was less clingy this week and sure does like to kick the ball but unlike his sister does not like all the attention on him. HA! So he does better in group activities vs when it is his turn all alone to take the ball to the goal with all watching. After soccer we were off to the house for C to take a quick nap and Clint and I to get some house needs accomplished. Only a short while later we woke C up for the Hamel Rodeo! We got tickets for family day (all other performances were Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun nights). The Rodeo is like 5 mins from our house so we had to check it out - what a fun time! It was warm but the grand stands we sat in had a nice breeze. We each got a titch pink but for the most part our sunscreen and hats did the job. M loved the bulls and face painting and Connor seemed to love it all - I couldn't believe how good they both were - they were in awe!

We came home, got a few more things done around the house including Clint painting the first coat in the guest bedroom before heading to Maple Grove for some yummy Mexican Dinner. We got back home around 730p and both kids started to fall apart. They were exhausted from a long day in the sun so it was time for baths/showers. M hysterically cried when I washed the sticky/sweaty butterfly off her face which really had less to do with the butterfly and more to do with pure exhaustion. M was shockingly asleep by 800p (simply early for her) as was Connor. Clint finished painting in the basement while I made a Target run to get some items for Connor's pirate costume. It was the best Target run in a long time. A mainly empty store on a summer Saturday night with no kids running around me, husband telling me to hurry up - ahhhh - I bought so many random things I don't really need but it was wonderful. I came home to a nice long shower, new jammies from Target and a good conversation/TV with the hubster - perfect Saturday!
New Pajama Shirt - Sounds about right :)
Sunday - Clint and I were outside by 8a with the lawn mower going and gloves on my hands ready to pull weeds. While Clint mowed I hit all our front yard flower beds and side yard trees with weed spray and pulled where I could - ugh you can tell the former owners didnt do weeding very well. Thankfully it was a nice temp this morning and a good breeze. We wrapped up around 930 just in time to clean up and head to Lord Fletchers for their Pirate and Mermaid brunch. We were meeting the Zehr's and Cassem's. I didn't know what to expect and this is now added to the annual friend outing list!!! They did such an awesome job with pirates everywhere, Mermaids swimming in the lake water by the boats, free balloon animals and face painting - oh and not to mention a great buffet spread. So Fun!
C man wanted to "take off his hat" Umm No - This Family Loves a Good Theme!!

After brunch we picked up 15 bags of mulch and came home to spread mulch on my freshly sprayed beds. While I did that Clint started some of the much needed sheering of over growth on shrubbery. That was HOT! I was sweating in places I didnt know you could, literally dripping. I spread all 15 bags of mulch like a beast. We then quickly cleaned up to go look at a pool table. Big mistake, the guy seemed super sketch and so we said we would think on it and got out of there - waste of time but then grabbed some food, headed home for the finishing touches on a Sunday afternoon. I had to run to the grocery and Clint put the 2nd coat of paint on the guest bedroom - all done! We wrapped up the night with some bubbles outside, baths and now a quick movie (tv show) for the kids before bed. Clint and I aren't far behind them with all this sun and outdoor back breaking work :)We have a hot week ahead and M wraps up soccer :( Hoping you are all enjoying a family and friend filled summer 2018!
Lots of Love,
C, K, M & C
