Verplank Cabin Weekend!!

Monday : 

• After a fun long 4th weekend I headed to DC early in the morning.  I landed just after some flash flooding and man was it humid there!!
• I worked from the hotel for a few hours and then met my leader for dinner at an Italian restaurant.  We work and stay in the cute lil area of Georgetown - love the walking + shops!

Tuesday : 

• Happy Birthday Nanny & Grandpa!
• I had a day full of meetings and a dinner of fish and chips with 2 of my leaders.
• Clint survived Connor's water day and what should have been Connor's first night of outdoor soccer BUT it rained!  BOO!
• All was not lost for Connor, he had a wonderful visit by the MN Zoo!

Wednesday : 

• Another day of work in DC followed by a team Mexican dinner by the Potomac River
• Maci had a field trip to the Crayola Experience which was a big hit!

Thursday : 

• Flew home on an early morning flight and got dropped off at the house 1 minute before my 1230p call, great timing there Ms Kellie!
• I worked from my deck the remainder of the day until Clint and kids got home from work/daycare.  
• We had some spaghetti and meatballs then the kids played outside with the Harty boys before calling it a night!
• I crashed early while Clint waited for the groceries to get delivered, yay for not leaving that to Sunday this week!!

Friday : 

• After running the kids to school, I grabbed a bagel and came back home for a half day of work on the deck!
• I got some good work done and around noon took off for lunch at 6 Smith with my former Finance colleagues, Pat and Becky.  It was so great to catch up with them.
• I grabbed M on my way home and met up with Clint who was already at the house getting ready to load the car for Balsam Lake!
• We were on the road by 230p and then grabbed C man post nap at daycare.
• We got up to Balsam around dinner, stopped at Paradise for a bite to eat before joining the crew of 4 families at the Verplank cabin!
• Per usual, the moms got to go out on Friday night.  We stopped at Barred Owl for 2 cocktails and then the Thirsty Otter for a beer on the walk back.  We spent a little time around the fire before calling it a night.

Pretty much!

Saturday : 

• Some of us were a little tired from tent sleeping and well a few too many strong cocktails. :)
• We got up and moving and spent most of the day on the pontoon swimming and sunning!  What a wonderful fun day!
• We then hit up Paradise again for dinner before the guys got to have their night.
• Kids and moms were exhausted alike so we did s'mores and then early bed times!
• The boys rolled back in around midnight and had a little campfire fun before also turning in.

Sunday : 

• We all got on the road by about 1030a and into our respective homes around lunch time.
• No sooner do we get home but the Mondell kids hear the Harty's splashing in the pool.  It was 90 something degrees today so even the adult Mondell's thought that sounded nice.
• We quickly got laundry rolling and some fast unpacking before hitting the Harty's house by about 1p.
• We all swam and had fun until about 300p when the Harty's had to get ready for baseball in this heat!!! YUCK!
• That was good timing though because we had to finish laundry, prep for the week, hang outdoor speakers and cut grass.
• I am about done with laundry and Clint is about to cut the grass since the temps have at least dropped off now that it is getting past dinner time!
• I may be crazy and take the kids for an after dinner but pre bath walk - feels good to get moving, even in the heat.
• We are all eager for a good night sleep back in our own beds!!!  

We are looking forward to a HOT upcoming week with everyone home!!!
