How Did I Miss These Last Week?
M in her new goggles (HA) with a toad on her hand - we tend to find them on the patio!
She is a total and complete goof!
Monday & Tuesday I was worked from home while the hard wood floors got sanded, repaired and stained to a new darker shade! The guys did great work and other than a layer of wood dust on everything throughout the house (lots of dusting!) we love the new look. Feels great to see some of these big projects take shape!

Say Goodbye Oak Trim - You are next as Clint is changing all trim to be white
On Monday afternoon I got some awful news. We were all ready for Miss Kim to return to work full time after her battle with breast cancer and mastectomy. Unfortunately on Wednesday of the prior week, she started to show signs of a stroke at work - not remembering kids names or her own birthday. They rushed her to the hospital where a cat scan showed 8 inoperable tumors on her brain. They have given her at most 9 months to live and she started back to intense radiation. The odds of Miss Kim being healthy enough to come back to school for even visits is a slim chance at this point. Needless to say Clint and I are devastated. The school is sending home materials for all of us parents to use when attempting to explain this situation to the kids who LOVE Miss Kim as if she were a 2nd mother. Maci just the other day said "mom, sometimes I accidentally call Miss Kimmy mom and dad haha isn't that so funny!?" These are the moments in life that make you think this world just isn't good enough for someone as special as her. Ugh ok cant talk about this anymore right now. Simply pray for peace, love and comfort for our dear Miss Kim in this tough time.
Monday was supposed to be M's first soccer practice but we got some dinner time rain showers which caused for an 11th hour cancellation. Coach Clint was even ready to go HA.
Tuesday Clint had softball at a decent hour (7p) so the whole family went this time. Clint had some good at bats and nice catcher moves but at one point he struck out and Connor started laughing like it was the best thing he had ever seen. Connor is loving sports - sat for 4 innings in my lap just staring in awe. M on the other hand made it 1 inning and then was out picking dandelions and doing cart wheels for all the people walking their dogs - HA
Wednesday we finally had the first soccer practice and it was HOT! The temps made it to 85 that day and there was no shade at the fields. Connor didn't like that dad and M got to play on the field and he had to walk around with mom. M LOVED soccer and cant wait to play again - YAY! The kids also loved Coach Clint. A true Gilroy tradition in the making :)
Thursday I had a hair apt after work and decided to lighten up a bit on the color and take almost 7 inches off. It was getting too long, heavy and hot for summer. Now I have a long bob that hits right below my shoulders. I cant wait until my new curling iron gets here on Monday so I can try to do the beachy waves my hair dresser tried to teach me :)
Wasn't Ready to see this on Her Locker - UGH SO BIG!
Friday - Clint had the day off and got quite a bit of painting done and the big riding lawn job. I had a happy hour at 330p with some friends on COV's patio at Lake Minnetonka. What a way to start a wonderful weekend than by having a margarita at 330p next to the lake and with 80 something temps - AHH SUMMER TIME! I came home to some pizza with the kids, bike riding with M and then playground trip. Clint was busy doing more painting but missed the amazing site I saw at the huge playground by our house - 3 dads were there with the kids and a small cooler of beer. All I kept thinking was "oh man Clint cant meet these guys or I may never see him again" HA Connor threw a grand temper tantrum when it was time to leave so I got to carry him in 80 degree temperatures from the playground, across the soccer field and through the cut through path to our house while Maci imitated his crying - JOY!
Saturday - Maci's final Saturday morning of dance for the year! Since it is year 2 for her she got a trophy vs a medal and is OBSESSED with her trophy with her name on it - she even told her soccer clinic coach about it this morning HA. We are so proud of the big girl she is becoming!
Walking up and high five to Miss Heather

1015a Saturday Morning Class!
So Damn Proud!
So I was so busy taking pictures of her that I didn't realize I left my purse. We got all the way home (30 min drive) and as I got ready to go to the grocery I realized I didn't have my purse. Drove all the way back out there to realize they were closed as they were having a competition in St Paul - UGH! Fortunately the teacher confirmed it was there and locked up and I could pick it up Sunday morning before they head to competition again - DING DONG!We got home and M prepared for her buddy from school (Tanyn) to come by and have a play date. While they played, I headed to the grocery with Connor man. How have I not realized to take him before??!! M is all over, grabs shit and throws it in the cart, whines etc. However, Connor stays in the cart, never makes a peep, asks what I am getting and why, sings songs with me and helped put the food on the conveyor belt. I even did a little earring and clothes shopping at Target (2nd stop) and not a peep on wanting to GO. Sorry M, you are getting replaced on grocery runs HA!
After we got home, Tanyn's mom came to get her and we ran out to eat. After a quick dinner, Jon and Sara (former neighbors) stopped by on their date night for a drink and to see the new place. They are the ones with the twin 5 year old girls and their new house is only 5-10 mins from our new place. They are good people and we talked about our family camping trip this coming summer at their cabin again - yay summer fun plans! We ended the night in the hot tub as Saturday was a cool one and it felt good to get in a hot tub with some cool air outside.
Sunday - Started the day by running to get my purse, followed by a craigslist pic up for Connor man. He keeps driving his sister's pink Barbie jeep and we want him to get some street credibility in the new hood so we got him a used 3 wheel motorcycle (highway patrol) power wheel for 30 bucks off craigslist - he loves it! We then headed to Ms soccer skills clinic. She was so into it and wouldn't even let me tie her shoe b/c it wasn't break time yet! They did their first scrimmage at the end and with a 10 min period, M scored 2 times. She was having so much fun out there - the timid 2 year old from soccer a few years back is GONE! It must have worn her out b/c she took her first nap in a long time on the way home while we got some sandwiches for lunch and mailed some cards. That 2nd pic is one for the wedding slide show :)
We got home and let M sleep in the car, C went up for a nap and Clint and I were getting to dos done around the house. We have ordered curtains for the sitting area, 2 end tables for in there and a new table lamp. I found some great deals on all of them and I am so excited to say 2 rooms are then DONE - Formal dining and sitting room. Clint starts on the trim in the main entrance this week! We also ordered the caterpillars for our butterfly grow kit that M got for Christmas - we should have new pets arrive in a few days haha. Now Clint is brushing Boomer, Connor is napping, I am getting odds and ends done like the blog and M is playing dress up across the street with her new neighbor pal Clara (so exciting that they are both going to kindergarten in the fall together!) It is a gorgeous day so we hope to take a family walk later and likely will hit up the playground. What a fun family weekend!
This coming week is another 4 day for Clint and me. We are both taking Friday but he is taking it to do more work with our contractor Brent (wiring the TV surround sound, mounting a basement TV by the bar and installing our new dining room chandelier) as well as working with the sprinkler guy to update a faucet so we can have our sprinkler system work great this summer. I on the other hand will be doing a massage with Jacey, lunch, pedicure and hot tub cocktails - poor planning on his part HA We then look forward to a low key memorial day weekend to kick off what is sure to be a super fun summer!
Lots of Love,
C, K, M & C
